Always Look Foward

The glimmering night started to recede as the sun rose to its peak.

While the sun rays started to pour through the window, the room started to brighten, but still leaving half the room covered in shadows.

Dyreus lay quietly on his bed as May and Auorora encircled him with darkened faces, may possessing the face as if the grave was just one stop away.

After the head captain brought Dyreus out of the forest and back to the orphanage, he knew he wouldn't get answers until he woke up.

He quickly glanced at Aurora, wondering if he should begin the questioning, but put aside that thought.

The forest was unsafe. He had taken a deep inspection of the monster Dyreus killed and realized it was nothing of the ordinary.

After dropping Dyreus off, he quickly sent one of his men to grab the doctor, while he sent the rest to scour the forest once more, making sure there wasn't anything else lurking within.

Before quickly departing, he made sure to brief May about Aurora rushing to the guards about a monster attack and finding Dyreus unconscious along with a dead beast.

As May looked at Dyreus, she took a glance at Aurora. She could see her hands were shaking.

As her mother, even though not related by blood, she still gave everything she could for them.

Anger and despair flooded May, praying Dyreus would be alright. But knowing Dyreus and his ability to heal, she calmed herself into a determined face. The last thing she wanted to pray on, is what she would do.

Putting her hand on Auroras to calm her shakes, she said in a small voice.

"It's going to be alright, we both know how strong he is."

Aurora calmed herself.

She looked back at what happened.

All she could do was run.

She had no power to help, let alone fight. She wanted to change that.

Auoura made a promise to herself. One that she would engrave into her very self.

'I'll never run again. I'll become stronger'

As Aurora made the vow to herself, Dyreus even though he was dead asleep, was experiencing something he never expected.

---------------------------------

Darkness.

That was all Dryeus could see.

He felt awake, but he also felt like he was stuck in some limbo.

As Dyreus looked around all he could see was an endless void, spanning as far as he could see.

He was confused as to where he was, only recalling that he killed the beast, and fainting from the overuse of wrath.

'Thats right'

He had gained a power unfamiliar to him. He knew his healing was special, but during that fight, he had gained something beyond his imagination.

Dyrues wanted to learn what that power was or where it came from.

He wanted to know whose voice he heard.

but it seemed like the moment was not right now.

"Where exactly am I?"

Dyreus tried to take a step forward, but the moment he did, the world changed around him.

A new scenery was playing out before him.

The darkness started to disappear as the light chased it away.

Dyreus quickly covered his eyes as the brightness blinded him. Giving himself a few moments, his eyes adjusted, as he slowly lowered his hand.

Looking around him, he would only be more confused.

A forest.

All around him were various types of trees and plants.

While a forest is of normal origin, Dyreus quickly realized the trees around him were different.

He could feel it. A different type of energy is emitted from the trees.

While he'd never felt any energy before, this felt familiar to him.

As Dyrues proceeded further into the forest, he quickly fell into a stumble at the sight of a plant he had only seen in the books he had read.

Its small stem was sprouting from the ground as 5 leaves circled around.

"A five-leaf clover!"

'But the book said these went extinct a thousand years ago?'

Dyreus had read that people, to this day, still search for one. It had turned into a myth that people like to spread in stories.

"It was said that the person who touches a five-leaf clover will gain good luck for the rest of their life, while the plant withers back into extinction."

Dyreus quickly stopped himself and adorned the vast forest around him. The sun bleed through the tree tops, as nature around swayed with the wind.

Dyreus was in an unfamiliar location, he knew he shouldn't touch anything.

Dyreus quickly remembered the location of the clover and walked past it.

The more he walked, the more he saw different types of plants he had only seen in books, ones said to be of myths, to have gone extinct forever ago.

After walking for a bit more, he came across an open field.

he was wary of where he was, he didn't know if the area around him was dangerous or not, but for some reason, it was all too familiar. It was like he used to roam this forest a very long time ago.

He knew deep down, that this forest only held peace, there was no danger around.

He steadied himself and walked into the open field and wondered for a moment. A thought appeared in his mind.

He looked up.

Something he hadn't done since coming here due to how bright it was.

"Two suns."

"In the book 'Age of Creation', it was said a big war had started, and with it ends, began a new age, one where the humans would rule."

Dyreus thought deeply to himself.

"It said in the aftermath, one of the suns was destroyed, symbolizing the end of the gods."

Dyreus's face tightened as to what he just said.

"The fact theirs two suns, and the plants I came across."

"I'm thousands of years in the past."

Knock Knock

With a slight creak of the door opening, an old man could be seen walking through.

"Ah, doctor you're here!" May responded.

"Ah yes, sorry about my lateness, I came as soon as I got word."

May quickly got up from her chair next to Dyreus and moved it out of the way for him to work.

"Please check on him"

With a nod, the doctor walked forward and hovered his hand over Dyreus's chest.

With a simple, but powerful spell, a green runic circle appeared and slowly started to spin.

While the doctor normally had a very neutral face, his face turned into a great surprise the longer he examined.

"His body is perfectly fine... but his mental is off"

"What do you mean?" May quickly responded.

"I can't determine the exact reason, and while I could say he has remnants of extreme anger, this anger is different. It almost feels alive."

A slight struggle could be seen on the doctor's face as the spell started to spin faster.

"I can't say for sure as to what it is, only that it closely resembles what would be anger, but it's much more profound. I've never seen this before."

The doctor released the spell and slowly turned to May.

"Overall, he seems to be fine; there's not much I can do until he wakes. Just let him rest, but keep a sharp eye on how he is. Whatever is still lingering on him, even I'm afraid as to what it is"

"Thank you, doctor, we will keep in touch," May responded with a nervous look, her eyes falling back to Dyreus.

With a slight nod, the doctor continued on his way out.

May reorganized the chair next to Dyreus and sat down.

"Oh Dyreus, what am I gonna do with you"

Aurora slowly brought her hands to grab Dyreus's hands and softly said,

"Please wake up soon."
