Trip through the memory lane
One fine morning, Zara decided to clean up her room to make space for new things when
she came across some old pictures.
The picture envelope was found buried under a heap of book in her cupboard. The envelop holding the pictures was yellowed which showed the
passage of time.
After cleaning up the room, Zara took out the pictures to take a look at them and identified
them as the ones they took on their family trip to Murree, almost a decade ago.
The pictures took her down the memory lane, making her remember the events that took place
all those years ago.
As she remembered, back then in order to escape from the sweltering heat of summer, her
mother had taken the siblings to Murree to accompany her sister. They had left late at
night and reached Muree near dawn.
The house where they stayed was the house rented by her aunt. They lived on the ground floor, while the upper portion was rented by some one
else, and they used to make a racket late at night, shouting and throwing things around making it difficult to sleep.
The house was in the middle of a hill, with an old tree in the front and a path that lead to the valley on right of the house. The tree was often used by them to fulfill the wish of climbing trees as they were unable to do so at their home.
The valley was filled with different flora, and among them were plum trees. Little Zara along with her siblings used to collect the plums that were not ripe.
The family sat together to eat them after sprinkling some salt. They were often caught by the landlord aunty, who was very worried about someone eating her fruits. It is still a mystery whether she owned the trees or not.
Among other picture were the ones they took out on the walks to the nearby hills. As she
remembered there were hill covered by daisy flowers. Her uncle used to make them flower
crowns to wear out of the flowers.
Some of the hills were also covered in pine and cone trees, they also sometimes collected the cones as they are good to use as the decorative,
simply or after applying some spray paints. They also used to collect various good-looking
stones for decoration.
One of the pictures made her remember the appearance of the wolfs on one of the walks.
At that time, Murree was not that developed and wild animals used to roam around at night, so they always remembered to come home before the sun set.
The picture bought out the forgotten memories of her childhood years, Zara decided to put them in a picture album and show them to others.
These pictures bought a childlike pure smile on her face, making her forget the worries she had.
