THE ARRIVAL PART: 1

Chapter One:

The Thirteenth Hour

Holland arched his brow. He had no idea where he was. His mind was a mess of smoke in the hours after the battle.

Battle….

His eyes shot up at the thought. He won, he won against Diantha. The sense of confusion was now overrun by sheer joy. His feet slid across the grass beneath him.

His mind now replayed the very battle that decided it all.

The whole arena stood quiet at the mass of clouds at the center. Holland and Diantha fixed their gaze at the shroud of dust. For an eternity, the dust floated thick until it finally dispersed. The crowds were in shock, until two souls broke the silence.

Holland's parents.

Right at the center, two bodies were laid. Diantha's Gardevoir laid flat underneath the shadow of Holland's pokemon. Waves of mega evolution both retreated from them, and the entire crowd shouted.

'Congratulations, Holland. You are now Kalos' Pokemon Champion..'

The words of Diantha kept ringing in his ears, the sheer joy becoming stagnant. His mouth hung open at the consequences of those lines. He was now the champion.

Right after, Holland's parents bursted through the double doors for the waiting room. Their faces stained red with tears of joy and anxiousness. Two people collapsed onto Holland's shoulders and at that moment, his utter glee was now crumbling down.

He actually did it, he accomplished their family's dreams.

But where was he?

Surveying his surroundings, he found himself in a forest clearing. Orange leaves floated in the air. Before him, a solitary hill rose. Right on top a rather peculiar sight caught Holland's attention. A wall clock stood right at the top, no hint as to why it could be there.

The sudden change in scenery and lack of memories caused his heart to tremble. The blood rushed into his veins, memories of evil organizations kidnapping him rose back to rising back. His breathing began to quicken until a soothing feeling brought it back to its normal pace.

His fingers caressed the pokeballs on his belt, and all at once the feeling of dread disappeared. As long they were here, he'd be safe. However, something caught Holland's eye, his pokeballs were more than six. All of his pokemon were strapped on his belt.

At the strange thought, a memory resurfaced like a speeding arrow. The 12 pokeballs, the orange leaves, it was all coming together.

Right after the battle, Holland wanted to celebrate so he got all of his pokemon from the storage system and brought them and his family to Laverre. And that was it.

Everything else was blank, he didn't know if his family came with him or not. Holland was to busied himself in thought when a reverberating chime echoed through the clearing. Looking forward, his eyes landed on the clock's rusted hands. It pointed right above, indicating it was midnight.

Holland took a step forward and strode off to the strange clock. Its paint was feeling off, and the numbers on its face were barely legible. Yet, its age did not hinder the beauty it possessed. Holland knew how beautiful it could've been in the past, when it was still new.

As his hands caressed along the face, another chime echoed, and Holland's heart almost jumped out of his chest. On the second chime, a gust of wind began to pick up. Holland ignored this at first until it started to strengthen.

His muscles tightened and on instinct he prepared himself for battle, hands hovering over his pokeballs. The wind was now a mass of air, thick enough to be called fog. Like a comet, it circled around the hill Holland stood on.

For a second it circled gently when the third chime struck again. Lightning crackled in the sky and the comet of wind began forming into a tornado as it encompassed the entire hill. The gentle wind was now gone as it sped as fast as a Pidgey about to evolve.

Holland collapsed to the ground at the sheer force caused by the column of wind forming around him. The wind was now so thick that he could not see the outside. Right above him was the only passage, yet it was blocked by a crackle of electricity forming at the mist floating on top.

Holland braced himself, caught up keeping his pokemon from flying away to notice the sounds of clanging swords.

A bright glow caught his sight, and the feeling of dread started to spread into every being of his cell. Looking at the clock's face, Holland's eyes widened. Before it was faded, but now the numbers glowed with a pristine shine.

The hand was pointing up, but not striking on twelve. The seconds marched as the hand pointed to the number 13.

"What the…" Holland's line was interrupted at the sudden arrow flying pass. "Arceus!"

Holland tumbled back at the arrow piercing right through the clock. The glow around it started to glitch and right there, Holland immediately grabbed the PokeBall placed at the front of his line. The tell tale sign of an explosion was enough to get him to open the PokeBall, just in time for a flash of white erupt.

The column of air dissipated and the chaos was now quiet. Holland calmed down as the familiar energy wrapped around him, forming a barrier against the explosion. It was until a tick of a pebble that Holland finally opened his eyes, and oh did his eyes go wide.

From the looks of it he was no longer in the forests of Laverre. Walls of stone boxed him in with vines crawling along the wooden ceiling which just happened to have a gaping hole in it.

All around me, me wearing medieval armor stood firm. Their armor is a burning red with a crest embedded in their chest. Their eyes all looked at me. It was hard for him to read them from the metal helmet covering their faces.

Though if he were to guess, it was not good. Their weapons all pointed towards him. Swords, arrows, and spears all ready to strike. Right at the front of these dozen knights, a lone swordsman stood. The air around him commanded respect, someone who is important.

Unlike the others around him, his face was bared for all to see. A young man, hair like bronze and gray eyes that pierced through his enemies. His face was naturally chiseled and mouth stretched at a thin line. Eyes stared down at Holland and the creature behind.

All of them looked at him and the pokemon he released. Just before the flash of light, he instinctively called forth the very first pokemon he owned.

Holland kept his composure though a slight wrinkle in his eyes broke though. The pokemon behind him floated quietly, its hands swaying by its side. A plain white body covered in layers of cells and plasma. Its eyes gave off a threatening glow to anyone who looked at it.

Holland was standing right there, Reuniclus floating behind erecting a glowing barrier around them. Holland and the squad of swords stared at each other for what felt like hours until the man in front finally stepped forward.

"Who are you?" His voice was rough and strong, a voice that was forced to harden by war. "Were you summoned by the Midnight Garden?"

"Who cares." A voice popped up. It was a man beside the bronze. His fingers trailing at the spear in his hands. "If you don't answer then, we'll just have to force it out of you"

The venomous bite to his tongue was enough to waver Holland's confidence. Luckily, his friend sensed his worries and sent back a wave of positive emotions to calm him down. Right there, his fears all disappeared. He was with his pokemon, he is safe.

"I suggest you start talking" The bronzed man threatened, hands hovering over the sword on his hip. "We won't hesitate to get the information out of you." His voice was calm yet confident, as if he already knew he won, well was he wrong.

'Runi, psychic. Hold them down.'

Holland commanded telepathically. Immediately, a surge of psychic energy enveloped the room. Shouts escaped the Knight's mouths as their swords were flung out of their arms and into the wall behind Holland. One by one, they collapsed to the ground at the invisible force pushing on them. Their knees and elbows buckled at the sheer weight in their backs, well all but two.

The men that talked earlier seemed to be resisting Runi's psychic, only kneeling on the ground. They were also the only ones whose weapons were not flung out from their hands. Another surge of emotions envelopes Holland.

"I know Runi, they're stronger than they look."

"Do you really think that floating ball can stop me!" The man with the spear emerged from Runi's grasp and ran towards them.

His eyes focused on Holland and Reuniclus, his spear preparing for a strike. The tip of the man's spear glowed an otherworldly red, and just like light he attacked.

The sudden force caused Holland and Runi to be pushed back a step. The man's spear was now lodged into the barrier that Runi created. Holland's eyes widened at the attack, no humancoudk be that strong, and that glow?

Unfortunately, Holland's thought came to an end as the spear began to glow. Instinctively, Holland raised his hand along with Reuniclus'. With a jab forward, the spear wielder was now embedded into the wall.

Just as they were about to get their bearings, a flash of light caught their attention. Without a word, Reuniclus reinforced another barrier just in time as the bronzed man pushed down on his sword.

"How strong are these humans?"

"Fascinating…" The man in bronze said as he and they kept trying to push each other away.

Seconds later, the man disappeared. Holland looked frantically for the lump of bronze hair when Runi sent him a telepathic wave. Immediately he turned around and raised his hands, another barrier appearing just as the Bronze man's sword appeared.

"You aren't a newbie, I can tell. However, this battle only has one conclusion…" His face grew malicious and the thin line spread into a sadistic grin.

The man disappeared once again and appeared right to his side. Sword glowing a hellish red, the man swiped down at Runi's barrier. Holland had enough of this and shouted.

"Runi, confusion!"

The pokemon hummed and a surge of energy attacked the bronzed man's head causing his sword to falter. Seeing the opening, Holland pushed forward.

"Psybeam"

A multicolored haze engulfed Holland and Reuniclus, sending a beam right to the bronze swordsman. The said swordsman blocked it with his sword and braced himself. The wind around them picked up and a mini column of air surrounded the swordsman as his entire body began to glow. Tired of another tornado, Holland was about to attack when the spearman appeared beside and sent a jab towards Runi.

Being a psychic, Runi already expected it and sent a Psychic powered beam to the spearman who sliced through it with his spear. Holland hopped back with Runi following him. Rocks began to levitate and parts of the walls floated out of their place to form a wall of debris.

With a flick of his fingers, the floating debris was sent flying to the spearman. The man expertly dodged it and sliced off a few rocks. Runi raised his hands and the entire wall beside him ejected out and crashed into him. The spearman turned his waist and sliced off the wall. Holland flicked his wrist once again and the multicolored beam shot towards him, this time he as sent flying out the window.

Back to the swordsman, the glowing aura around him was now bigger. The fierce gale started to spread across the room, carrying rocks into its chaotic dance.

Holland only smiled at the sight.

"Time to show them Runi why we are the new Pokemon Champion!"

The pokemon hummed in response before sending a wave of psychic energy. The entire room bursted outwards, finally revealing the scene outside. The walls and roofs bagan flying around Holland and Runi now engulfed in vibrant, dark pink light.

The room was no more and all Holland could see was a battlefield. Beyond their place two colors clashed together. Swings of swords and shootings of arrows.

Holland kept his mind from wandering deeper. He covered the floating times in psychic energy and sent them hurtling at the swordsman.

The swordsman dodged the barrage and spread the column of wind around them until the two of them were closed off. The swordsman finally made a move as a symbol appeared in front of him. As fast as lightning, the swordsman striked.

Runi erected a barrier in the nick of time. The collision between forces caused a small creator to appear. Holland kept his composure once again, which seemed to tick off the glowing swordsman.

"Fight me!" He shouted, sending another slash at Holland's seemingly impenetrable shield. "Attack!"

The swordsman raised his sword and descended. Holland's face stayed motionless as the barrier took the brunt force, cracks appearing but we're fixed quickly. The swordsman seemed to have enough and landed a distance away from them.

The sky began to crackle with lightning, and the wind rushed violently. The swordsman summoned another set of symbols all hovering around him. The sky above turned dark and the lightning was blood red. The ground beneath began to crack and the sword on the man's hands grew bigger.

With every swing of the man's sword, a crack would appear on the ground. The glowing symbols merged with his body enveloping it in a blood red shine. His eyes turned dark and the armor around him fell off, revealing his bare chest.

The man raised his enlarged sword up into the sky as trails of crimson lightning descended. The wind was a blurry mess as the ground sunk deeper into the ground.

Holland's composure did not waver at the sight of the hellish grin plastered on the man's face. As if in contact with the devil, the man swung down his sword. Arcs of lightning shot from the sky, and a blood red bolt came down on Holland and Runi.

The collision caused a shock wave that permeated through the battlefield causing some to look at the sight before them. The swordsman was now bleeding from his mouth at the consequences of using such a move.

The wind finally ceased and the air smelled of ozone. A thick fog blanketed the location where Holland was, and the swordsman giggled wildly.

His laugh was cut short at the flash of light from the mass of dust. The grin of his face was wiped off at the sight of Holland emerging from the dust. His eyes widened and his knees gave way.

"Impossible!" The man called for every last inch of energy he had. "Won't you Just. Die!"

The man stood up but the growing energy within stood still. Holland was now covered in crimson light. Reuniclus hovered menacingly behind him. The sky above began to crackle once more and the wind alrind picked up speed.

"This can't be…" The swordsman was left speechless at the sight. His eyes focused on the grin appearing on Holland's face.

The surge of energy all compacted into one single point and from there, Holland said calmly.

"Mirror Coat…"

A blood red beam shot forward, parting the ground before it. The beam raced to the swordsman's collapsed form ready to take its life. Just as the beam was mere inches away a glint of gold appeared.

A woman clad in gold with red accents appeared before the swordsman. Taking the big sword from her back she stepped forward. The collision between the beam and the sword sent another shockwave. This time, trees around them were uprooted by the sheer force.

The woman in gold swayed her big sword and the dust dispersed, revealing Holland and Reuniclus all covered in a vibrant light. For a second, the two warriors shared a glance. The woman's stare was calculating, unlike the other two's brash nature, this one would wait. Wait for the right time to kill and make her move.

The two stared at each other. Holland squinted his eyes and waved his hands.

Runi released a wave of energy and sent the dust rising into a thick cloud. The woman in gold raised her sword again, but as the dust disappeared, the man and the strange creature were no longer in sight.

The battle between the Midnight Garden and the Light Of Chaos was put to a halt that night, and the news of a boy appearing with a creature in his control would spread to all the neighboring kingdoms and even the Emperor.
