Returning Your Personal Love

Dragon in the Sky had shown animosity towards him? Glancing at the apologetic and guilt-ridden expression on Hu Mei'er's face, Yang Kai had an inkling of understanding.

There are some things that don't need to be asked.

Hu Mei'er was a clever and perceptive girl, and though Yang Kai only gave her a glance, she was able to grasp the meaning behind it.

"Since Grandpa Long won't allow you into the mining area, I can't go against his wishes too much. Here's what I'll do—I'll fetch the Qiang seeds for you. Just wait here for a moment," Hu Mei'er said gently.

"Alright," Yang Kai agreed, realizing this was the best solution. He then took out everything valuable he had and handed them to Hu Mei'er, along with the names of the Blood Battle Gang members who had found the seeds. He had already asked the stall owner at Black Wind Trade City about this.

As Hu Mei'er entered the underground mining area, Yang Kai's gaze drifted toward several of the buildings on the surface. Just moments ago, Long Zaitian had entered one of those rooms, and Yang Kai could sense a pair of eyes watching him from within.

Inside the room, an old man and a youth stood by the window, observing Yang Kai intently.

The old man was Long Zaitian, who had just attacked Yang Kai, and the youth beside him, who appeared about the same age as Yang Kai, was Long Zaitian's grandson, Long Hui!

Long Hui regarded Yang Kai with a cold gaze and voiced his displeasure, "Grandfather, why didn't you kill him earlier?"

Long Zaitian snorted, "Mei'er was protecting him. How could I do it?"

"That's all the more reason to get rid of him. I've never seen Mei'er so protective of any other man before. This guy's relationship with her is obviously close, and leaving him alive will only bring trouble."

"Indeed, I've never seen Mei'er act this way with anyone before. She even defied me just for him—it's quite unusual." Long Zaitian's brows furrowed slightly.

Long Hui's jealousy was palpable. "Mei'er has gone into the mining area now. Why not take another shot at him, Grandfather?"

Long Zaitian cast a disappointed glance at Long Hui, "While I could easily dispose of him, if his death causes Mei'er to harbor resentment against you, would it be worth it?"

Long Hui paused, shaking his head. "It wouldn't be worth it. But how can we just let him continue getting close to Mei'er? I can't stand it."

"You foolish boy!" Long Zaitian sighed heavily, "You should learn from your older brother. See how he handles the women he desires. If you wish to win Mei'er, you need to use your wits. I can kill for you, but I can't win a woman's heart on your behalf, can I? Hu Man has no sons and only two daughters, Mei'er being one of them. If you and your brother can both win them over, then the future of the Blood Battle Gang will be ours. Our family has served the Blood Battle Gang loyally for three generations—it's time we tasted the privilege of being in charge!"

Long Hui felt a surge of excitement and nodded vigorously. "It's time for our family to take control. Rest assured, Grandfather, Mei'er won't escape from my grasp, and I'm sure my brother will succeed with Hu Jiao'er as well."

"Good, it's promising that you have such ambition." Long Zaitian nodded approvingly.

Long Hui looked venomously at Yang Kai in the distance, still itching to take action. "Grandfather, about this guy…"

"Find an opportunity on your own. His strength is lacking—you should be able to handle him."

"Yes!" Long Hui smirked sinisterly.

He couldn't make a move right now, not with Hu Mei'er expected to return shortly. But being a disciple of the Lingxiao Pavilion, Yang Kai wouldn't be hard to track down.

Yang Kai didn't have to wait long before Hu Mei'er returned from the mining area, slightly sweaty but smiling brightly as she handed him the four seeds. "I managed to get them for you."

The Blood Battle Gang disciples wouldn't dare refuse a request from their young lady.

"Thank you!" Yang Kai carefully tucked the seeds into his clothing.

After standing there for a while, Yang Kai finally spoke, though his expression showed some internal struggle, "Since you've helped me, I owe you a favor in return."

Hu Mei'er looked at him with curiosity. "What do you mean?"

"Come with me," Yang Kai beckoned.

Although unsure of his intentions, Hu Mei'er obediently followed him.

After they had walked about thirty paces, Yang Kai suddenly stopped and stamped his foot lightly. "Remember this spot. Approximately seventy paces below the ground here, there should be something unusual."

Hu Mei'er's eyes widened in astonishment. "How do you know?"

Yang Kai hesitated before explaining, "I have cultivated a martial skill that allows me to sense any energy of the Yang attribute within a certain range. Below us, there's a Yang-attributed treasure. The energy it emits is hundreds, if not thousands, of times purer than that of the seeds."

From the moment he arrived, Yang Kai had sensed this place was different from the rest. After much consideration, he decided to share this information with Hu Mei'er. Firstly, because this was Blood Battle Gang's territory, he knew he couldn't acquire it himself. Secondly, it was a way to repay Hu Mei'er for her kindness today, something he had witnessed firsthand.

"What?" Hu Mei'er exclaimed, visibly startled.

"Do you trust me?"

"I do!" Hu Mei'er replied without hesitation, which touched Yang Kai.

"Then that's enough." Yang Kai smiled faintly. "While I'm unsure of exactly what lies beneath, its value is undoubtedly significant. Moreover, there seems to be something else alongside it, but I can't discern what it is. I suspect the secrets buried below might be the key to your Blood Battle Gang's unique mining area, or perhaps it is because of them that an underground vein exists here."

Hu Mei'er was visibly moved. If what Yang Kai said was true, the secrets hidden below were of immense importance.

"You are a smart girl. You should know what to do." Yang Kai advised earnestly.

"I understand," Hu Mei'er nodded repeatedly.

"Alright, let's go." Yang Kai said with a smile.

"Mm."

As they walked through the dense forest, Hu Mei'er and Yang Kai remained silent, simply enjoying the peaceful moment together.

Hu Mei'er felt happy because Yang Kai had entrusted her with such crucial information. Clearly, his impression of her had changed significantly since the last time when he was dismissive and commanding.

But this time, things were different. He was much kinder.

"We should part ways here." Yang Kai suddenly halted, and Hu Mei'er, somewhat surprised, realized they had unknowingly arrived at a crossroads. Time had flown by so quickly! Hu Mei'er felt a pang of melancholy.

"Farewell." Yang Kai said, turning to head back to Lingxiao Pavilion.

What a carefree soul, Hu Mei'er mused with a wry smile.
