That night, when Yang Kai broke through to the Opening Yuan Realm, a masked woman ambushed him. Initially, he believed she intended to kill him, but by the end, he realized her true aim was merely to assist him. Otherwise, with her strength, he would have been utterly helpless.
Yang Kai had harbored doubts at that time, and now he had finally confirmed the identity of that masked woman.
At this moment, Yang Kai felt a profound sense of gratitude towards this Senior Sister Xia.
Meng Wuyou, inopportunely, placed himself as a barrier between Yang Kai and Xia Ningchang, protectively shielding his precious disciple behind him like a hen guarding her chicks.
Yang Kai eyed him suspiciously and asked, "Do you know each other?"
Meng Wuyou, with an air of arrogance and satisfaction, replied, "She is my disciple!"
"Your disciple?" Yang Kai's jaw nearly dropped to the floor. His eyes darted between Xia Ningchang and Meng Wuyou in disbelief.
Who would have thought that such an unreliable person as Meng Wuyou had taken on a disciple? This was nothing short of leading others astray.
"You two… know each other?" Meng Wuyou cast a sidelong glance at Yang Kai.
"No," Xia Ningchang answered crisply and decisively, while hiding behind Meng Wuyou and waving her hand.
Yang Kai understood and smiled faintly, "We don't really know each other; she merely helped me that night."
Meng Wuyou nodded slightly. Xia Ningchang had informed him of this, and it was because of their encounter that she had sensed the purity of Yang Kai's Yang energy.
"Meng Wuyou, what is it that Senior Sister Xia needs my help with? May I know?" Yang Kai's expression turned serious; since it involved Xia Ningchang, he would naturally not decline.
Meng Wuyou did not answer but looked at his precious disciple, inquiring, "Is he capable?"
Xia Ningchang's delicate earlobes turned crimson. She lowered her gaze, her long lashes fluttering, and after a long while, gave a barely perceptible nod.
Seeing her reaction, Meng Wuyou sighed, "Very well, time is of the essence. He will do."
Yang Kai, still confused, chose not to question further.
After a moment, Meng Wuyou asked solemnly, "Yang Kai, are you aware that some people are born with extraordinary gifts, possessing abilities beyond the reach of ordinary individuals?"
Yang Kai's demeanor became serious, and he responded softly, "Are you referring to those with special constitutions?"
"Precisely." Meng Wuyou nodded, "These individuals are blessed by the heavens, the chosen ones. Some are naturally suited for cultivation, some recover from injuries with remarkable speed, and others excel in combat. The variety of such constitutions is vast and peculiar. However, regardless of the type, anyone with a special constitution can achieve heights in their field that others cannot even fathom. We ordinary people can only envy such gifts. Unfortunately, those with special constitutions are exceedingly rare; you are fortunate, Young Yang Kai, to witness one today."
Yang Kai's expression turned solemn as he gazed at Xia Ningchang, standing behind Meng Wuyou. "Could it be that Senior Sister Xia…"
"Indeed," Meng Wuyou said with a proud smile, "Xia Ningchang's constitution is indeed extraordinary."
Yang Kai was both surprised and intrigued. He had not expected this shy and timid Senior Sister to possess such fortune.
"What kind of constitution does Senior Sister have?" Yang Kai asked with curiosity.
Meng Wuyou did not immediately answer but pondered before saying, "The fruits on this tree are now ripe. Disciple, go and pick them."
"Understood." Xia Ningchang complied, approaching the final sunfruit tree and gently plucking the three fruits.
Yang Kai refrained from asking further, sensing that his questions would soon be answered.
"Disciple, show him your abilities," Meng Wuyou said with a chuckle.
Xia Ningchang nodded slightly, walking to Yang Kai and extending one delicate hand, which held the three freshly picked sunfruits.
"Please observe, Junior Brother," Xia Ningchang said softly, subtly channeling her inner energy.
Yang Kai's expression shifted to one of astonishment as he saw red energy emanating from the sunfruits in Xia Ningchang's hand.
This was the Yang energy contained within the fruits. Yang Kai, who practiced the True Yang Technique and was sensitive to Yang energy, could clearly sense the energy being rapidly drawn out.
But how was this accomplished?
The energy flowing from the sunfruits gathered before Xia Ningchang, resisting the gale but remaining intact. In less than ten breaths, the three sunfruits had lost their color, their internal energy completely depleted. Furthermore, the fruits rapidly shriveled and, with the wind's blow, turned to powder in the air.
Xia Ningchang continued, cradling the concentrated Yang energy in one hand and manipulating it in the air with the other.
As she moved, the Yang energy from Confinement Dragon Gorge surged upwards like a column of water, converging towards Xia Ningchang. She grasped this energy and infused it into the red energy sphere before her.
Her movements quickened, each grasp capturing more Yang energy from the gorge and merging it into the red energy sphere.
As time passed, the red energy sphere did not expand but rather shrank, though its Yang energy content increased.
Eventually, Xia Ningchang ceased drawing from the gorge, pressing the red energy sphere together with her hands.
When she opened her palms again, three glistening red pills lay within, their rounded forms and vibrant hues clearly visible, with distinct pill patterns.
Yang Kai was left awestruck!
This scene could only be described as a marvel of skill.
It was only now that Yang Kai understood how the pills Xia Ningchang had given him were made. They were created with such ease!
Yet, this process seemed almost too simple. Alchemists were rare, and pill-making typically involved risks and specialized tools like cauldrons and flames.
But this Senior Sister Xia had created three pills so effortlessly with nothing but her hands and the sunfruits.
"Here you go!" Xia Ningchang extended her hand towards Yang Kai.
Yang Kai took a deep breath to steady himself from the shock and took the three pills, noting that each contained more Yang energy than a single sunfruit, as she had drawn additional Yang energy from Confinement Dragon Gorge.
"Senior Sister, if you were to become an alchemist, the people of Medicine King Valley might be out of business," Yang Kai said with a wry smile, having never seen anyone simplify the process of alchemy to such an extent.
