Zoning out

_Chapter 2_

"Hey! Dude!!"

"Yo!!!" I spaced out and forgot that Lorraine and I were having breakfast. We finished, and I guess I was zoning out for a while.

"How much was it again, sis?"

"55 bucks, bro. You okay? You seem out of it," said the lady at the stall.

"Sorry, I just remembered something," I said as she handed me my change, and I got up from my seat.

"Let's go, Lorraine."

"Wait, aren't you gonna get something for Jessica?" Lorraine asked.

"What do you think she wants? You pick something for her."

"Alright…" We headed back to the stall; we hadn't even left the place yet. This spot in Pag-asa had food joints lined up side by side. It's the most popular place for cheap and tasty meals.

"Sis, can I get some canned meat, fried rice, eggs? And throw in some ketchup. Oh, and a Milo drink, please," I let Lorraine choose Jessica's breakfast.

"27 Pesos," said the lady as I handed her a fifty.

"You guys siblings or dating?" the lady teased us.

"No, just friends," I replied.

"He's my classmate's brother," Lorraine added.

"Ah… I thought you were a couple, you look good together. Even my old mom upstairs was giggling at you two!"

"No, we just met recently," I said.

"Yeah, we just met," Lorraine echoed.

"But you look good together! It's that puppy love!" she said with a chuckle.

We just smiled. "Thanks, sis," we said in unison. Lorraine and I walked home in silence.

...

/Back to that lonely place again/

"You sure you wanna do this?" Jennifer asked casually.

"Yeah, as long as you want to," we were sitting on the edge of her bed.

"Won't you get even more infatuated with me?" she asked pointedly.

"I dunno. I'll be real. Fine, we don't have to do it. Just let me be crazy about you," I said as I stood up, and Jennifer lowered her dress that had risen past her armpits. My left hand had been on her right breast—over her bra. When I stood, it slipped off, but as Jennifer adjusted her dress, she grabbed my left wrist.

"I lo—" I started to say but...

"What are you doing?!" she exclaimed, pulling me, causing me to fall on top of her. I couldn't stop myself and ended up on top of her on the bed. She held my left wrist tightly. I braced myself with my right arm, my face close to her neck. My elbow slipped, and our bodies pressed together. I could feel Jennifer's softness, especially those breasts I had just been fondling.

I tried to lift myself off her.

"Stay here!" she squeezed me with her arms, making it impossible to get up.

"I'm heavy!" I protested.

"No!" she hugged me tighter. I tried once more to lift my head, but she pulled me back, pressing my face into her chest. I sighed, resting my head on her warm, soft chest, hearing her heart race.

"Hey! Fer, I need to get up. Come on. Sorry," she finally let me go, and I sat up next to her while she still lay on the bed.

"How do I do this without catching feelings for you? Without falling in love?" I asked.

"Just do it because you want to. I want to. After that, we'll act like nothing happened," she said, stroking my left arm with her right hand.

"What if I get you pregnant?"

"You won't get me pregnant. I'm on the-------- -- --- - -"
