"You know Kate's my girl, right? I ain't tryna mess with her. What's the point of defending her if I'm just gonna play her?"
"Damn! Loyal much? Bet you guys won't last."
"Idiot!"
I just cussed out this weirdo who doesn't think before speaking.
"You've never been in love."
"Love? Fuck!! You'll break up eventually."
"You can't say that till you've been there."
"Oh, really? I'll prove you wrong. If I do, you gotta flash me!"
"And if you lose?"
"Your call! Screw me! Ha ha!"
"Wow! How do you even know about that stuff? Have you... done it?"
"No! Just halfway, like, some boob action..."
"That's why you're so horny, you've had a taste."
"Alright, deal! I'll prove you guys will break up."
"Fine... Let's do this."
"Question: Before Kate, did you have a girlfriend?"
"Yeah."
I answered quickly, realizing Pusa (cat) had me cornered.
"Why isn't she your girlfriend now?"
"We broke up because I got kicked out of my old school. We were classmates. We had some closure, at least."
"Closure, my ass. You still broke up. So it's possible you'll break up with Kate too."
"Yeah, maybe. But if you love someone, you'll fight to keep it from happening. I'd bust heads for Kate. I wouldn't have done what I did earlier if I didn't care about her."
"Fine, you win! Ha ha! Come on, do me! Ha ha!"
"I'm not doing that. I love Kate. Find someone else."
"Ha ha! Oh man! Are you gay, bro?..."
"Ha ha! You wish!"
I stood up because I was feeling hungry.
"Come on, Pusa, let's grab some food at Pag-asa. I'm starving."
I wanted to end our chat. I had no interest in Pusa since I realized I'd already screwed up with Kate. I'd hooked up with her best friends, adding her neighbor to the list would be too much. Enough's enough, I thought.
Luckily, I managed to change Pusa's mind and shift to food. So we left the house to eat out.
When we hit the Pag-asa street, I recognized the uniforms from Laurel and Osmeña. Those were probably the folks we scared earlier, so we didn't go through with it.
"Shit, those are the Laurel and Osmeña guys from before. The one you stripped might be there. We're gonna get into trouble, Pusa."
So we turned around and decided to buy food from the side of Librada and just eat at home.
Good thing Pusa didn't have a death wish. This girl loves trouble, always picking fights.
