The Vagabond's Gaze

The sight of the ruined temple left Ivan with a strange mix of emotions. He stood there, dazed, for much longer than he had planned. The risk of getting spotted from his position was high, but Ivan seemed out of it, lost in thought.

Three minutes passed before he suddenly shook his head slightly and looked around, confused. 'What happened?' He wondered. There was a evident look of confusion on his face.

He had stood motionless, at a spot for three whole minutes completely lost, risking exposure. That was very unlike him. He couldn't even remember what had happened, the only thing he could recall was he had seen the destroyed temple a moment ago and a strange feeling came over him completely blanking his thoughts temporarily.

A chilling realization struck him. How had all these people not noticed him? He had been standing in an almost open space for three whole minutes, yet no one paid him any mind. Ivan shuddered and cast a wary gaze back at the temple.
