The Weight of Yesterday

I would draw fat-ass into my arms and tell her that it was fine and that I forgive her. And maybe confess that I liked her more than friends. 

But the day never came. 

Until I saw her in the library of Havard. Her hair had grown longer and spiralling all over her neck. She was wearing a beige long coat and cute shoes. My heart was beating fast as I approached the table. 

"Brittany…" I said as I got close to her.

She raised her head to acknowledge me.

Her eyes were a little too big. Her lips were painted red but looked innocent, probably never said a bad word before. Even her smiles were too big and not like hers.

She was not Brittany.
