AUNTY VERONICA
JASMINE'S POV
The rest of my classes went smoothly. I think it was because Jayden and his friends didn't attend any more classes for the day. I felt even happier when the bell rang. I picked my bag pack and put my books in it. I'm so glad this nightmare is over
"Bye Tiffany. See you tomorrow" I said waving at Tiffany
"Bye Jazzy. Ooohhh wait, I didn't get your number" Tiffany yelled behind me hurriedly packing her books and leaving the classroom
"Ooh yeah. Here" I said handing her my phone
She imputed her number, saved it and placed a call to her number with my phone. She also saved my number on her phone and gave me a good bye hug
I think I'm starting to like this girl. She's so cute and friendly. I was about to leave when she called out to me again
"Do you want me to drop you off?" She asked in a really cute manner
"We could use the opportunity to get to know each other better. Don't you think?" She explained
Well, she has a point
"Okay" I said to her smiling
"Yay. Let's go" she said pulling me to the parking lot
JAYDEN'S POV
Few minutes after Jasmine left, Ronnie and Ryan came into the building
"Did I just see Jasmine running out of the hideout?" Ronnie asked with a questioning look
"What are you guys doing here?" I asked not ready to answer his question
"You're avoiding the question, which means she was here. Did you bring her here? I thought this was 'our' secret hideout " Ryan said putting more emphasis on the 'our'
"Correction... This was 'my' secret hideout" I said also putting emphasis on the 'my'
"Well, it was your secret hideout before we became best buddies. Now that we're best buddies, it's OUR secret hideout. Now stop changing the topic and answer the question. Did you bring her here?" Ronnie asked
"Urgghhh, fine she was here but I didn't bring her here. I was angry and decided to cool off here. I saw her seating on the bench over there when I got in" I explained to them
"Oooohhhh" they both said simultaneously
"I've answered your question. Now answer mine. What are you guys doing here?" I asked again
"Well, point of correction....We don't need permission to come here. We noticed you were gone for a long time and your phone wasn't available so we decided to come meet you" Ryan said
"Yeah bro. We searched the entire but we couldn't find you. So, we guessed you would be here" Ronnie added
"Okay" I said
"So why are you angry uhn?" Ronnie's asked
I didn't feel like talking about the incident with Stephanie
"I don't wanna talk about it. I'm going for a drive. You guys coming?" I asked them not sure if they would want to come with me coz school isn't over yet
"Of course are. We obviously can't let you drive around angrily" Ryan said
"Whatever " I said and left
I heard them chuckle softly behind me but I just rolled my eyes and acted as though I didn't notice anything
JASMINE'S POV
The drive home was really fun and I got to know more about Tiffany. I was really surprised when she told me she was the only child of the Mayor
Can't believe I'm now friends with the Mayor's daughter.
For a moment, I thought she wouldn't want to remain friends with me when I told her about my family but I was wrong. In fact, she looked more happy. She then told me that she had always wanted to have a friend who was just like me. Someone with a simple life.
When we arrived at my house, she followed me inside and asked if she could stay with me for a few hours before heading home
I was quite surprised. She then told me that she had no one to talk to at home since her parents were always busy with work and she was the only child
I felt sorry for her and told her she could stay. I then offered her a glass of orange juice. I suddenly remembered that I still had to help my mom at her stall. She said she would accompany me there and also help out. I didn't disagree with her. I just went up to my room to take a quick shower and change my clothes then we headed to mom's stall
TIFFANY'S POV
I finally found a friend who wasn't as rich as I was. I'm sooo happy and I hope I remain friends with Jasmine for a very very very long time. She's soo nice, cute, reserved and really simple
I got even more excited when she told me she was going to help her mum at a stall. I love exploring and doing new things. I have never been to stall before so I couldn't miss this opportunity. I agreed immediately and we both left after she had changed clothes
"Good evening mum" Jasmine greeted her mum
"How are you my baby? How was your first day at school?" Her mum asked
"It was fine mum. Uhm, mum meet my new friend Tiffany Dasilver" Jasmine said introducimg me to her mum
"Good evening aunty" I said smiling as I greeted Jasmine's mum
"How are you my dear?" Her mum asked me
"I'm fine ma. How about you?" I said
"Ooh I'm fine too child" her mum replied
"So Dasilver uhn. Any relationship with Mayor Dasilver?" Her mum asked curiosly
"Yes ma. I'm the only child of Mayor Dasilver" I answered
"Ooh my word. Come here child. Have a seat over here" her mum said and asked me to sit on the only chair available in the stall
"Oh no ma'am. It's okay. You can seat there. Please don't treat me that way because of my dad. Just treat me like you would your daughter" I said to her
"Oh dear. You're such a lovely child" Jasmine's mum said to me while tapping my cheeks softly
I smiled wholeheartedly as I was slowly falling in love with this family. I kinda wished I was her daughter
"Don't worry mum. You rest. Tiffany and I will handle the shop now" Jasmine said to her mum
"Okay dear. Thank you both" her mum said and went to have her seat on the chair
The stall wasn't that big. I'm sure it can only fit four people at a time
I watched as Jasmine served some food into the takeaway then she placed it carefully in a plastic bag and handed it to the customer. I decided to join her after watching her serve three customers
"Did you girls have anything to eat before coming?" Jasmine's mum suddenly asked
"No" we both replied simultaneously
"You guys should have eaten something. You know what, I've rested enough. You girls take two takeaways from over there and eat okay" Jasmine's mum said
"It's okay ma'am. We're not th....." I didn't finish my sentence before Jasmine's mum cut me off
"No more talking. You girls go over there now and Tiffany you can call me aunty or aunt Veronica okay. Ma'am sounds a bit old don't you think? I mean, I'm still soo young" Jasmine's mum said flaunting her curly hair that stops at her mid back and swaying her hips sideways
Jasmine and I burst into laughter seeing her act that way. We had no other choice but to let her takeover
I opened the takeaway and took the first spoon and I grinned sheepishly. The food tastes sooo good. No wonder she had lots of customers. I was already salivating while helping Jasmine dish the food earlier
"Oh wow aunty. This tastes great. I've never tasted anything so delicious before" I said honestly
"Really? Thank you sweetheart" Jasmine's mum said and continued with her work
I had so much fun with them that I didn't realise how late it had gotten. I decided to head home after much persuasion from aunt Veronica
"Okay bye aunty" I greeted
"Goodbye my child. Drive safely okay" Jasmine's mum said
"I will. Bye Jazzy. I'll come pick you up tomorrow at 7:30" I said and drove off without waiting to hear her reply. I knew she might decline if I waited so I decided not to give her a chance
