Inside the apartment, next to big windows, Seo-yeon received that light that penetrated the city view. Ideas from the discussions she carried out with Joon-woo and Hyun-soo in the past days kept haunting her mind. The competitive rivalry between the two men keeps her at the center of their schemes, deals, and secrets. But another feeling dawns on her-something that was advancing between her and Joon-woo.
Her phone buzzed, and she checked her cell phone. It was from Joon-woo.
"Tonight's dinner is at my penthouse. I'm planning to bring you some important updates."
Seo-yeon thought briefly before texting him back: "I'll be there".
She arrived at Joon-woo's penthouse late at night, parked her car, and entered the building. The city was twinkling like a carpet of stars through his penthouse's floor-to-ceiling windows as nighttime in a big city is made of lights. He smiled proffering her a glass of wine.
"To our success," he said offering her the glass as he toasted.
"To our success," she echoed, clinking her glass with his.
Over dinner, Joon-woo discusses the tactic with the trio around Hyun-soo, going over what they'd discussed, which rumors they'd created, and which connections they'd be trying to pursue. An intensity of conversation that was otherwise rather quiet understated definite tension that seemed to build with every meeting's intense magnetic bond.
It was already past dinner when Joon-woo brought Seo-yeon to the living room. The fire crackled warmly inside the fireplace. Heat originating from the flames gave a cozy feeling that the couple gifted to themselves by sitting on the couch.
Having a soft, melodious voice while talking to Seo-yeon, he said, "I want to thank you for everything you have done. It has been important to us; we simply need your intelligence coupled with your dedication."
"Seo-yeon," Joon-woo began, softly caressing her cheek, "I value enormously that you have done everything for me. Your time, your thinking process, and your dedication have been very important."
Seo-yeon got a flutter in her chest. "We stand side by side, Joon-woo. I cannot do it without you."
He reached out and took her hand, his touch sending a shiver down her spine. "There's something I need to share with you," and he never looked away from her. "I'm feeling more than just what a partnership usually contains."
Seo-yeon's heart was racing. She knew it was true too. But hearing what he was saying, it became real.
"Joon-woo, I….."
Before she got even half the sentence out of her mouth, Joon-woo kissed her. In the beginning, it felt gentle and inquisitive, almost as if he weren't entirely sure if this was her preference, but grew more intense as both of them gave in to the growing passion that had accumulated between them for such a long time.
Seo-yeon responded eagerly, her digits intertwined in his hair. Looking like a quiet esthetician, the fire in the fireplace was observed as if practicing model behavior, increasingly hot with every breath. They paused just a moment from kissing to take a breath together; their foreheads leaned against one another.
"This is something I have wanted for so long," Joon-woo whispered, his breath against her lips feeling warm.
"Me too," Seo-yeon quietly said, her voice barely above a whisper.
They kissed passionately this time, seeming to compensate for lost time. Then Joon-woo made a sweeping motion across her back to bring her in for a hug. She blended into the supporting realm and the situations around them stopped. At that instant, there was nothing beyond it, so the two of them fully melted into the heat of the moment.
Everything remained frozen as they converged, their tenderness on their caresses growing bolder. The lines that set them apart faded, and an unfiltered connection burst forth to drown. They worked in flawless harmony, speaking a language that words could not define.
They both exhaled hard as they pulled away. Their chest beats are in absolute sync. Joon-woo cradled Seo-yeon's face in his hands. And with her gaze in his eyes, Joon-woo said softly.
"Seo-yeon, I love this moment but I don't want this to be just a moment. He said, "I want to be together with you in every possible way."
Seo-yeon was sobbing, but those were happy tears. "I want that too, Joon-woo. More than anything."
They kissed a second time, almost closing the exchange. At that time, true passion was between them, and they were aware of it--this was just the next step in something that meant much more to them.
The dark surroundings were meaningless, considering how lovely this night was. They remained apart; still, they were able to whisper words between them and exchange sweet kisses out of sight of their confederates. Exterior, the city kept its never-ending presentation of lights. Nonetheless, for Seo-yeon and Joon-woo, time stood still, which enabled them to fully enjoy the experience they so wanted.
After having a deep sleep in Joon-woo's embrace, sunlight flowed through the curtains and lifted the features of Seo-yeon when she awoke. Although genuinely happy for the first time in so long, the hurdles Joon-woo faces can look quite overwhelming.
Their passion revolution moment transformed their love into something special, enriched by a particular intent. They will investigate intensely the volatile environments in their world, doing so more tightly bound and mighty than they have ever been.
As Seo-yeon lay back with her arms resting over the other person, she had some hope that they might turn out okay. They found something important, something deserving of defense, and unique in their connection.
