Chapter 3:Pixie The System!

"What other side? What Host!?" Li Jun questioned, his facial expression perplexed.

'It's not what I'm thinking, right?' Impossible am I so unlucky? But I was born in the year of Dragon!' Li Jun thought as he steadily raised himself from the ground.

"Yes, host, the other side. This is where you get to live your dream life!" The system enthusiastically said it was like a salesman advertising his best product.

"Host? Who?" Li Jun questioned again, his expression becoming uglier as he pointed at himself.

"Yes, You, the host of the BXB System, which is me," said the system, gracefully going down from above Li Jun.

The system stopped before Li Jun, floating in the air. Li Jun gaped at the half-human, half-robot before him. His facial expression conveyed what every nerve and muscle in his face wanted to say, 'what's this thing!?'

The 'being' before Li Jun was stunning but simultaneously weird-looking. His round eyes were as bright and colorful as the vast galaxy. The feel of those eyes gave Li Jun an ominous yet ethereal sensation as the stars within shimmered.

His long black hair, which was as dark as night, flowed with the invisible wind—adorned in a long midnight blue robe with only a knot tightened below the waist, exposing most of the system's bare body. Li Jun could see the colorful substance, like liquid, running intricate, thin lines. Tiny particles like stars running through the system's body glimmered within the substance-like liquid. The system's robotic body was similar to the blood flowing through the veins of a human body.

"Hello host, I am the BXB System of the other side, Xiǎo jīnglíng, meaning Pixie. But please do call me system," Pixie, the system, introduced himself to Li Jun, who was still dazed.

"Huh? Oh. I'm Li Jun. No! Wait, why am I here? Am I dead? What about my family? Are-" Before Li Jun could continue to bombard Pixie with questions, Pixie placed a finger on his lips.

"Shh!" Pixie said, his luscious lips arched into a dazzling smile. And for the umpteenth time in this peculiar space, Li Jun was yet again in a daze.

Moving away from Li Jun, Pixie swiped his hand across the white space, and what came to view was a beautiful woman crying as the rest of her family tried to comfort her.

This beautiful woman was no other than Delphia, Li Jun's mother.

"Mom!" Li Jun called out, but there was no response as his mother continued to bawl her eyes out.

"I- Am I d-dead!?" Li Jun managed to ask despite the lump forming in his throat. Not wanting to witness any more of the heartbreaking scene, Li Jun turned his back to the video transmitter.

"Yes and no," Pixie answered, swiping his hands in the opposite direction from the previous.

"Huh? What's that's supposed to mean?" Li Jun questioned, still not understanding why he was here or why he was dead and not dead.

"Well, in your original world, you are at the place called hospital, and your life is hanging on a thread. So, to put it precisely, you are an almost brain-dead patient on a life machine," Pixie informed Li Jun.

"Doesn't that mean I'm still dead? Just not yet?" Li Jun countered casually, his eyes empty and his body slumped as he sat in the white space.

"Hah! Wait until I'm finished before you look all depressed. Those two are two different things. You're in a semi-brain-dead condition because I made you like that by sending electricity to your brain to damage your cell membrane, disrupting the electrical charge of the cell, and disrupting the normal flow of ions and molecules in and out of the cell. I also ruptured almost all your nerves, which is-" Pixie's blabbering came to a halt as he felt a force pulling him down.

Peering below, Pixie recognized the culprit, who was no other than Li Jun. In those beautiful eyes were raging anger. Li Jun was so angry that he wanted to smack Pixie down from his high horse. But he could only catch a hem of his robe. And just like that, Li Jun continued to pull on Pixie's robe with excessive force.

"Ahh! No! Wait! Wait! My body can't come in contact with this place," Pixie argued as he tried to pull his body back from Li Jun.

"Why!? You killed me, though! So why can't your body touch the space!" Li Jun yelled in fury as he continued to pull Pixie downward.

"That's because- that's because, oh! I might die, and if I die, you can't return to your original world!" Pixie blurted out as his ass was on the line. Feeling the pull on his coat released, Pixie instantly teleported furthest away where Li Jun couldn't reach him.

"I can return?" Li Jun questioned his eyes once again had life.

"Yes or else? Hah! Young people these days! Didn't I tell you to wait until I finish? Young people these days are so impatient! Hah!" Pixie complained as he bridged off the invisible dust from his coat.

"Hurry, tell me how I can get back!" Li Jun urged as he peered up at Pixie.

"Hah! Young people! You can only return to your original world after you've completed all the tasks given in all the worlds," Pixie informed Li Jun; his previous playful demeanor was gone.

"What!? Tasks given in all worlds?" Li Jun questioned, startled.

'This can't be!? Is this the legendary Quick Transmigration that I've always read about!?' Li Jun thought with a bewildered expression. Seeing Li Jun's expression, Pixie smiled knowingly.

"Seems like you now understand your situation," Pixie added like a master who knows its all, his hands behind his back.

"Hah! I guess. So what are the tasks, and how many worlds?" Li Jun breathed resignedly; then he questioned Pixie with a determined look.

"Well, my dear host, the tasks vary with the different levels of each world. And to answer your second question, there are 1000, no around 1500 or so worlds that you need to complete; I don't quite remember," Pixie responded.

As if feeling the sensation of an excruciating headache, Pixie placed two fingers on his forehead and swayed back and forth in the white space.

"Why don't you just Kill me? 1000 worlds! When will I complete them all, then!? 100,000 years!?" Li Jun fumed after he heard Pixie's words and saw his pretentious act.

"What!? Kill you!? How could I possibly kill you!? If I kill you, what about me!? The headquarters would take my head!" Pixie countered dramatically as he zeroed in on Li Jun's face.

"Headquarters?" Li Jun asserted between Pixie's rantings.

"OH, yes. The headquarters is where we receive our tasks. But it's not only for tasks; it's also where we perish if nothing goes wrong with our hosts or if we interfere too much with the tasks," Pixie informed, shivering from the thought of dying.

"We don't know who created our headquarters or understand much about ourselves. We're programmed to do what we're told," Pixie added as he glanced at Li Jun with a knowing sigh.

"So dear host, please don't shock Pixie like that again," Pixie asserted, his eyes teary and sad as he peered at Li Jun.

Li Jun, attacked by such a pitiful gaze, could only look away and cursed himself in his heart for his weakness to pitiful dogs. If Pixie were to hear Li Jun's thoughts, his robotic body would probably overheat from his anger.

"Ahem! So where do we begin, and what are the rules? Do I perhaps have my own stats bar or anything similar?" Li Jun then inquired, his eyes sparkling with the excitement that was about to come. Pixie smiled with a wide grin as he stared at Li Jun with a gleam in his eyes.
