Chapter 9: World of Royalties [IV]

"I-it hurts!" Li Jun grimaced. His body was wet from sweat, tear-stained his face as his emotions ran amok. Li Jun tightly grabs the male God's robes as if hanging on for dear life. 

"Where? Where does it hurt?" Rui Huaein asked, concern evident in his voice. But Li Jun was in too much pain and agony to respond. His mind was clouded, and his head felt as if it was about to explode.

'System!!!!! What's wrong with me? It hurts! Make it stop!' Li Jun called out in agony. Twisting in Rui Huaein's arms, Li Jun screamed in pain as the rippling pain was coursing through his veins. 

"What's taking so long!" Rui Huaein roared from within the carriage.

"Jyah! Jyah!" Fang Hai galloped, rushing down the street. In less than 5 minutes, the carriage arrived at an extravagant mansion not too large but not too small. Pulling the horse reigns, the carriage came to a stop. In the next second, Rui Huaein exited with a limp Li Jun in his arms. Li Jun held onto Rui Huaein's robe like it was the last thread to his sanity.

"Your Highness, I'll take him," Fang Hai said, placing a stair for Rui Huaein to descend the carriage. 

"Hmm," Rui Huaein responded, handing Li Jun to Fang Hai gently, and of course Li Jun is being princess carried. If this were a conscious Li Jun, hell would probably ascend on Earth. Rui Huaein, seeing Li Jun in someone else's arms, doesn't sit well with him. In a drifty, Rui Huaein swiftly took Li Jun back from Fang Hai's hand and made his way into the mansion, leaving a dumbfounded Fang Hai to stare at his disappearing figure.

"Huh?"

"Your Grace, the Young Master probably caught a severe cold," a middle-aged man explained.

"A cold?" Rui Huaein questioned, doubtful.

"Yes, Your Grace. Judging from his state, he looks to have been dehydrated and went days without food. Also, beneath his feet is a lot of bruising. Hmm, it looks to be from running or walking long distances bare feet," The middle-aged man, seemingly a physician, continued. Rui Huaein stared at Li Jun with indescribable emotions coating his jet-black obsidian eyes. Li Jun's face was ghastly pal, and beads of sweat formed across his forehead. His clothes were tattered, and his feet bare, even so, his beauty broke out like a rare flower.

"So why does he look like he was having a terrible heartache and holding onto his head?" Rui Huaein asked instead.

"Well, a cold varies Your Grace. There is a slight cold, mild cold, and severe cold. The one that the Young Master is experiencing is the severe cold. It normally comes from evoking negative energy, which harms spirituality. That's the reason for the Young Master's splitting headache and severe heartache," The physician responded. 

"Alright, talk to my guard. Administrate any drugs or medication to have him recover. I want to see results within three days. If not, you're of no use to this world," Rui Huaein said threateningly without a glance at the physician. Hearing such a threat, the physician could only peck his head like a chicken with trembling hands.

"Y-Yes, Your Grace," the physician responded, walking away with Fang Hai. Making his way over to an unconscious Li Jun, Rui Huaein took the wet cloth to wipe down his face. Wiping down his face, Li Jun winced from the cold sensation. 

'He looks so peaceful and well-behaved when asleep. But why are you such a nuisance when you're wide awake?' Rui Huaein thought with a slight smile. 

"Master, you're smiling. Is heaven descending on earth?" a sudden, coquettish voice cut through Rui Huaein's thoughts. Just as it did, Rui Huaein's smile dropped from his face. Ignoring the voice, Rui Huaein continued to wipe Li Jun down. After some time, he decided to speak.

"Why are you out? Did I permit you?" Rui Huaein questioned, his voice dark and menacing.

"Ha! Ha!... Master I'm sorry I deserved to be punished!" The previous coquettish feminine voice chuckled awkwardly but spoke more manly and mellifluous, after seeing his Master's murderous expression. He hurriedly berated himself. 

"You didn't answer my question. Why are you out? I don't like to repeat myself," Rui Huaein responded with a question. 

"W-well, Master, I sensed a familiar presence inside his body," the voice readily replied. 

"Go on," Rui Huaein responded, his hand wiping Li Jun down stopped in the air. 

"In his body is an existence as myself, but is controlled by the Examinators, thus weaker than I am. But there's no existence as powerful as I am except for 'that existence'. So Master, they are not a threat. It's a system programmed by the Examiners," the voice continued, even gloating. 

'No wonder he felt so familiar. So, he is a Tasker. Hmm, was he trying to woo me? Interesting. I wonder what his task is,' Rui Huaein thought with a smirk.

2 Days later.

"Hmm," Li Jun moaned, turning on his right side. 

'Hmm, so soft. Can't I live like this forever?' Li Jun thought, kneading into the soft bed that hugged him closer. 

'Tch! Host you're finally awake?' Pixie made a sarcastic statement. Materializing, his arms crossed his chest with a snicker on his face. Frightened by Pixie's sudden appearance, Li Jun jolted wide awake but was nearly frightened unconscious.

"Ahhh!" Li Jun screamed out in horror. Pressing unto his chest, Li Jun tried to steady his breathing, fearing he would die from loss of air. Sitting just before a stern face Rui Huaein.

"You're finally awake," Rui Huaein responded menacingly.

"Y-Yes, I'm awake," Li Jun replied bashfully, sitting straight and stiff.

"Good. Get some more rest we're setting off tomorrow morning," Rui Huaein responded, standing from the chair. Turning his back to Li Jun, he started to walk towards the door.

'Huh? Isn't he going to ask if I'm alright or if I want anything? What's with this male lead!? No! I have to make my mark. From Bl Mangas and novels, the pull between the destined male and female lead is strong, like an invisible rope. If the female lead steps in before I make my mark-' Li Jun thought, feeling a slight burden from his task, but determined he went ahead to make his mark.

"That's it?" Li Jun blurted out, thinking out loud. Stopping in his tracks, Rui Huaein slowly turned to look at him.

"What else is there?" Rui Huaein asked, lifting an eyebrow.

"Well, I thought you'd be delighted to see me awake. Like 'Thank the heavens you're awake and that you didn't die!' with teary eyes. Weren't you terrified I suddenly lost consciousness?" Li Jun responded dramatically, delivering his 'top-notch' acting skills and hopeful expression. With a look of disbelief, Rui Huaein stood and stared blankly at Li Jun.

'Host? What are you doing?' Pixie's voice then sounded in Li Jun's head. 

"Huh? What do you mean? I'm trying to increase the Male Lead's love meter?" Li Jun responded with an evident question mark at the top of his head. 

'Yeah, but like this? Isn't it natural to increase the Male Lead's love meter by flirting and making a mark? What is he going on about?' Li Jun thought as he could already picture the dumbfounded look of his system, and standing before him was an already dumbfounded and speechless Rui Huaein.

'Its-You-but- hah! You're hopeless!' Pixie responded. Not knowing how to form words to respond to his host, Pixie resigned and went back to his space without a glance at Li Jun.

'What?' Li Jun asked with a big question mark on his face.

"Ahem! What's your name?" Rui Huaein asked as he finally found words to utter. 

'Right! I haven't asked who he was yet! Even though I know his identity, he wouldn't know who I am. Moreover, I can't just say I'm a transmigrator, my task is you, nice to meet you. How am I supposed to make a mark when I forgot the basics? How dumb of me! Hah!' Li Jun berated.

'What's wrong with him now?' Rui Huaein thought, seeing as Li Jun was behaving abnormally again.

'Master, are you sure it was right to take in such a....an interesting kid?' The voice in Rui Huaein's head spoke, trying to find a suitable word to describe Li Jun's abnormal behavior.

'Should I just throw him out on the streets?' Rui Huaein responded with a sigh.

"I'm Lan Huyan," Li Jun responded with a slight smile, cutting through Rui Huaein's conversation.

'1x Meng Attack!' Li Jun exclaimed, activating half his 2x Meng Attack skill. This skill enhances Li Jun's beauty and allows him to stand out anywhere. But the effect of this skill is only at its fullest when caught off-guard or if they're mentally weaker than the user. Regarding Rui Huaein, this skill will not work to its fullest.

'Huh? Why does he look so...shiny all of a sudden?' Rui Huaein slightly squinting his eyes.
