Chapter 15: Stay Away from My Wife

Xia Fanxing moodily approached the hospital entrance to hail a cab.

Probably because it was too late, there were hardly any taxis passing by.

She fiddled with her phone to try a ride-hailing app.

After setting her location, she sent out the request.

Not long after, an unlicensed car suddenly stopped in front of her.

Thinking it was the car she had booked, she was about to check the license plate when the person inside rolled down the window and said with a sleazy smile, "Beauty, where are you going? I'll give you a lift."

Xia Fanxing instinctively stepped back, "No need, I've already booked a car."

The man kept smiling and said, "It's alright, just cancel it. My ride is free, just come with me."

"I said no need, keep away from me," Xia Fanxing felt the man harbored ill intentions and retreated another two steps.

Seeing that he couldn't persuade her, the man got out of the car, attempting to pull Xia Fanxing away, "Beauty, don't be scared, I just want to kindly offer you a ride home, no harm meant, come with me."

Xia Fanxing was no fool; how could she simply get into a car with a strange man?

She brandished her phone at the man, "Don't come any closer or I'll call the police."

But the man was not the least bit frightened, "I haven't done anything illegal, your calling the police won't matter. How about you give me your WeChat, I'll add you as a friend and then I'll leave, how about that?"

Xia Fanxing didn't want to deal with the man any further and was about to really call the police.

Suddenly, from behind her, a man's displeased and angry voice rang out, "Stay away from my wife, get lost!"

The man saw a tall figure with a menacing face appear behind Xia Fanxing and felt a bit scared, "Sheesh, got a husband and still wandering around this late, what's wrong with you."

Xia Fanxing, watching the man curse and leave, sighed with relief.

Yet she felt a bit pathetic.

Was Mu Hanchen still her husband?

Then her wrist was seized tightly, and Mu Hanchen pulled her away.

Xia Fanxing tried to shake him off but couldn't, getting a bit angry, "You're hurting me, let go."

Mu Hanchen's grip only tightened, a dark shadow crossing his deep eyes, "Do you have any idea how dangerous it was just now? Why didn't you wait for me, why come out all by yourself?"

Wait for him?

To watch him getting cozy with Liang Chuchu?

She really wasn't that bored.

"Nothing much, I'm tired and want to go home to rest, is that not okay?"

"You still should have told me," he insisted.

Xia Fanxing let out a desolate sneer, "Wouldn't that have disturbed your good time with Liang Chuchu?"

Mu Hanchen's handsome brows slightly raised, "What good time with Liang Chuchu? I'm not aware of any."

Xia Fanxing wasn't sure if Mu Hanchen was genuinely clueless or just feigning ignorance, "Do you have to disgust me like this?"

Ever since the day Liang Chuchu came back, his thoughts were on her

Why must he keep hurting her heart over and over again?

She had already compromised and taken the initiative to propose a divorce, what more did he want?

Mu Hanchen saw Xia Fanxing looking wounded and seemed to finally realize something.

The cool breeze blew, lifting the hem of her coat, making her fleeting figure in the wind seem even more fragile.

A complex light flickered in the man's profound and silent eyes as he said softly, "It's not what you think between me and Liang Chuchu."

Xia Fanxing took a deep breath, closed her eyes, then opened them, and spoke in a weary voice, "Whatever it is between you and her, I don't want to know. I'm tired, let's go home."

Mu Hanchen knew Xia Fanxing had misunderstood him and was about to explain.

But his phone rang unexpectedly; it was a call from his grandfather.

Impatience was evident in his tone, "What time is it, why aren't you back yet?"

Mu Hanchen glanced at the defiant and indifferent woman beside him and said helplessly, "I know, Grandpa, we're coming back right now."

On the way back, Mu Hanchen tried to say something several times.

Xia Fanxing didn't give him so much as a glance and simply closed her eyes, apparently really falling asleep from exhaustion.

Mu Hanchen too lost his temper and decided to remain silent.

But he drove extremely fast.

Back at the Mu family mansion.

As soon as the car stopped, Xia Fanxing opened her eyes, stepped out of the car directly, clearly not having been asleep.

Mu Hanchen also got out of the car with a sullen face.

The two of them entered the house one after another.

Unexpectedly, they saw that the living room lights were bright.

The two elders were sitting on the sofa waiting for them.

Mu grandma detected something was off between the two of them. She suppressed what she originally wanted to say and instead stretched out her hand to Mu Hanchen, "Give me your phone."

Mu Hanchen hesitated, "Why?"

"Just give it to me when I ask for it, quickly!" Mu grandma urged impatiently.

Although Mu Hanchen was puzzled, he handed over the phone to his grandmother.

Mu grandma took the phone and directly dialed Liang Chuchu's number,

She had already had someone investigate everything about Liang Chuchu's return to the country; even her phone number was well known to her.

The call was quickly connected.

Liang Chuchu naturally assumed it was Mu Hanchen who had called her, with a sweet and affectionate voice she said, "Achen, have you reached home? Thank you for visiting me today; I was so happy. What time are you planning to come tomorrow, I..."

Mu grandma frowned even more upon hearing Liang Chuchu's ambiguous words and said sternly, "I'm sorry, Miss Liang, Achen won't be visiting you tomorrow, nor in the future."

"And I'd like to remind you that my grandson is a married man; please conduct yourself with dignity! Since you were afraid of involving him and you ran away four years ago, you shouldn't return to sicken us, nor should you harbor any delusions towards Achen!"

Without caring for Liang Chuchu's reaction, she hung up the call.

She threw the phone back at Mu Hanchen and angrily warned, "And you, stay away from Liang Chuchu from now on, did you hear me?"
