Prison Dragon

Yang Wei initially thought that Ye Qian's arrogance was due to some powerful backing. However, after checking Ye Qian's background, he found out that Ye Qian was an orphan, raised by an old man who collected trash. This made Yang Wei realize that Ye Qian had no influential connections. He sneered, thinking to himself, "So, he was just pretending to be tough. Let's see how I deal with him later."

Leaving the records room, Yang Wei found a patrol officer and gave him some instructions. Watching the officer leave, Yang Wei couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction.

The patrol officer went to the interrogation room and took Ye Qian to the detention center. "Get in!" he barked at Ye Qian when they reached a cell door.

Ye Qian glared at him, causing the officer to shiver. Only then did Ye Qian enter the cell. The patrol officer closed the door and said to the other inmates, "Take care of the newcomer!" He then walked away, satisfied.

This cell housed serious offenders, temporarily held before their trials. Yang Wei's intention was clear: he wanted these inmates to teach Ye Qian a lesson. Fights among prisoners were common, and as long as nothing serious happened, the authorities wouldn't interfere.

Ye Qian glanced at the fierce-looking inmates and quickly understood Yang Wei's plan. In the police station, he had only offended two people: Wang Yu and Yang Wei. Wang Yu, being naive and innocent, was unlikely to have orchestrated this. That left Yang Wei. Ye Qian smiled coldly, thinking, "Yang Wei, I'll remember this."

"Come here!" one of the inmates, seemingly the leader, glared at Ye Qian and ordered.

Ye Qian pretended to be scared, saying obsequiously, "B-boss, what do you need?"

The leader was momentarily stunned. He had expected Ye Qian to be a tough guy but found him to be a coward instead. Losing interest in teaching him a lesson, the leader, nonetheless, had to follow the officer's instructions to maintain his own peace. "Kneel!" he commanded loudly.

A man only kneels to heaven, earth, and his parents. Ye Qian would never kneel to these people. He sneered, then kicked the leader hard, making him dizzy and almost vomit his dinner. The sudden attack shocked the other inmates, who were too stunned to react.

After kicking the leader, Ye Qian ran to the cell door and started shaking it vigorously, shouting, "Help! Help! They're beating me up!"

The officers outside had been instructed by Yang Wei to ignore anything happening in the cell that night. Hearing Ye Qian's cries, they continued reading their newspapers, pretending not to hear. After shouting, Ye Qian turned back with a wicked smile.

The inmates now understood that Ye Qian was no novice but someone pretending to be weak. Despite being hardened criminals, they were no match for Ye Qian, the head of the infamous Wolf Fang Mercenary Group, which troubled governments worldwide. Within moments, all the inmates were lying on the ground. They silently cursed Yang Wei's ancestors, thinking, "Why did he make us provoke someone so formidable?"

Ye Qian walked to the bed, nudged the leader with his foot, and asked, "Got any cigarettes?"

"Y-yes!" The leader struggled to get up, pulled out a cigarette, and respectfully handed it to Ye Qian, lighting it for him. "Boss, do you have any other orders?" he asked obsequiously.

Ye Qian took a slow drag and said, "No, I'm tired. It's been a long time since I fought, and now I'm sore all over."

The other inmates, sweating profusely, thought, "He's really showing off, isn't he?" But they had no choice. "The boss needs rest. Hurry and prepare his bed!" the leader ordered, then respectfully said to Ye Qian, "Boss, you can sleep on that bed. It's far from the toilet, so the air is better."

Watching the busy inmates, Ye Qian sighed. It seemed that no matter where you were, the world was still a place where the strong preyed on the weak. Strength was indeed a good way to solve problems.

As the World Expo in Shanghai approached, the city government placed great importance on the event. The city's public security bureau ordered all district branches to ensure the event's smooth running. Li Hao, the district police chief of Pudong, immediately began organizing his work upon receiving the order.

This event was crucial for both Shanghai and China, with no room for error. Besides cracking down on gambling, drugs, and prostitution, they also had to maintain public order. Climbing to his current position had not been easy for Li Hao, and he had recently heard of potential opportunities for promotion. Therefore, he couldn't afford any mistakes.

For several days, he hadn't even returned home, constantly attending meetings and organizing tasks to convey the municipal bureau's directives. Tonight, as usual, it was already past ten, and he was still busy at the police station. Suddenly, his phone rang. He initially didn't want to answer, but the persistent ringing disrupted his work.

Seeing an unfamiliar number, Li Hao answered with a somewhat irritated tone, "Hello, who is this?"

"Chief Li, you are indeed busy. You didn't even answer my calls all afternoon," an old man's mocking voice came from the other end.

Hearing this voice, Li Hao's heart sank. "Dad, it's you. I apologize for not answering. I've been in meetings all afternoon, and my phone was in the office. Sorry. Dad, why are you calling so late? Is something wrong?"

"Xiao'er was taken to the police station. You need to find a way to get him out," the old man said. Knowing Li Hao's busy nature, he had been trying to reach him all afternoon, growing increasingly anxious.

"What?" Li Hao exclaimed in surprise.
