I like making Friends

In a spacious room, with opened windows, two men were chatting and drinking tea.

The first, older man had black hair with strands of bluish white, and a layer of frost on it.

The second, younger man had golden hair and captivating black eyes that seemed to suck in the light.

"You're not a Warlock, are you?" Kendrick said.

Leo's expression changed slightly, but calmed down. It was going to be found out sooner or later anyways.

"Actually, it's not that hard to guess. Your hair doesn't have any colouration, and I can't feel any Divine Energy from you.

If I were weaker, I wouldn't have found out so easily. However, I'm a Master Warlock."

Leo was surprised that Kendrick was a Master Warlock, but he nodded his head anyways, finding the perfect excuse for his power level.

"It's actually nothing. Just some Barbaric Arts."

"Oh?" Kendrick raised an eyebrow in doubt, but didn't inquire further.

Everyoje had their own secrets.

"Pardon me, but I've always been curious about you Warlocks." Leo sipped his tea.

"Care to tell me more?"

"Sure, no problem." Kendrick's eyes became deeper, as he began to speak from his understanding.

"Warlocks, as you may already know, are the chosen of the gods." Kendrick's tone turned solemn. "The Outer World Devil's invaded Titan more than five hundred years ago. The God's were powerful enough to deal with most of them.

"But after all, with so many enemies, at least a few will be able to slip through. And the humans behind were no match for these absolute monsters."

Leo nodded, having heard these before. Kendrick continued,

"It was impossible for any one human to defeat even the lowest level of Aberrations, and entire armies were needed to face just a few. Human society almost fell apart in a short time. Hundreds of thousands were killed or eaten as more Aberrations reached this part of the world...

"The God's saw this and thought of a solution. The Warlocks...

"Actually, there are two types of Warlocks; the Natural and the Acquired. The Natural Warlocks are chosen by the God's through pure chance, but those who are chosen are usually under strong emotional stimulation. There is also a high chance for the offsprings of such a Warlock to be born as one...

"The Acquired Warlocks, on the other hand, are inducted through a ritual, needing rare and expensive materials, usually involving some blood from a high tier Warlock...

"There is a much higher chance of the one undergoing the ritual to obtain power from the god of the high tier Warlock involved, than other Gods. Of course, the offsprings of an Acquired Warlock have a very low chance of being born a Warlock...

"We Warlocks can improve our power either through meditation, praying to our God's, or killing Aberrations. Killing Aberrations is the fastest method, but it is also much more dangerous..."

"In case you didn't know, for the Warlocks of Major Gods, Disciple Warlocks are barely comparable to Tier One Aberrations. Official Warlocks can contend against Tier Two and Tier Three Aberrations, Master Warlocks can fight Tier Four to Six Aberrations, while Grandmaster Warlocks are equivalent to Tier Seven to Nine Aberrations. Divine Warlocks are off the charts."

Kendrick explained carefully.

"Then... which god's warlock are you?"

Leo asked, looking straight at him.

"The God of Frost and Cold. A major God." Kendrick sipped his tea again.

"The powers allow me to control cold and ice. Not to mention I am an early Master Warlock."

"Wait a minute. The levels are subdivided?" Leo asked in surprise.

"Yes, Each realm is divided into early, mid and peak. By the way, Lombard is a mid Official Warlock."

"One more thing." Leo's expression turned solemn as he asked;

"Why are are you being so nice to me?"

"Oh?" A smile tugged at the corner of Kendrick's lips, and Leo missed the flash of purple in the depths of his eyes.

"Let's just say I like making friends."

Leo took a deep breath, remaining silent for a few seconds, before opening his mouth.

"Where can I find the Aberrations?"

"What for? You don't need to kill them to increase your power, do you?"

Kendrick said with furrowdd brows.

"They took something from me." Leo said casually, but there was immense rage behind those words.

Kendrick nodded and said slowly,

"To find the Aberrations, you have to go towards the Ancient Battlefield."

"The Ancient Battlefield? Where might this place be?" Leo frowned.

"The Ancient Battlefield, commonly known as the Battlefield of the Gods, is where the Devils, Gods, Warlocks, and even ordinary humans clash in a fitting battle royale!" Kendrick said with relish in his voice. Looking at Leo in front of him, he controlled himself.

" If you don't know where it is, you can go to my assistant. He is going to give you a detailed map."

"Many thanks, Mayor Kendrick. I shall take my leave now."

Leo stood up and curtsied, before walking out of the room.

Kendrick was left alone, deep in thought.

'He is trying to hunt the Devil's down. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.'

Kendrick rested his chin on his hand.

'No matter. I will be the final winner of this era. No one can stop me, not even the self proclaimed GodKings.'

Purple light mixed with white shone from Kendrick's eyes, laughter filling the air afterwards.
