Chapter 6: passionate kiss

Noah's eyes widened in shock for a moment, but as Adrian's lips moved against his, his mind went blank, and he instinctively closed his eyes. Overwhelmed by the passion of the moment, he wrapped his arms around Adrian's nape, while Adrian cupped his face, deepening the kiss.

After their passionate kiss, Adrian pulled away, his forehead resting against Noah's as he struggled to catch his breath. Noah, still panting, opened his eyes and gazed at Adrian, seeking answers in the depths of the enigmatic CEO's eyes.

"What is this?" Noah asked, his voice trembling with confusion and vulnerability.

Adrian's response was cryptic, "What do you think?" he said, moving away from Noah and settling back in his seat. Noah couldn't decipher what Adrian meant by his words, feeling more bewildered than ever.

Suddenly, Adrian's phone began to ring, displaying the caller ID as 'Layla.' Without any explanation or acknowledgment of the earlier intense moment between them, Adrian casually took his earbuds and inserted them into his ears, as if he was shutting himself off from the world.

"What's the matter?"

Noah couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy and hurt. He watched as Adrian answered the call, his voice adopting a calm and composed tone, a demeanor that Noah had never witnessed before.

Understanding that he was not a priority in Adrian's life, that there was someone else who held a special place in his heart, Noah felt a rush of pain in his chest. He realized that Adrian had no intention of explaining their kiss or exploring their feelings further.

Unable to bear the rejection and confusion any longer, Noah decided to leave. He pushed open the car door and got out, not even waiting for a proper farewell.

"Stay home, I'm on my way"

As he closed the car door, Noah heard Adrian's calm voice speaking on the call, and it was evident that this person was essential to him. With a heavy heart, he watched as Adrian's car sped away, disappearing from his sight.

Noah felt a mix of emotions as he walked away, trying to make sense of what had transpired. The memory of their kiss haunted him, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he was just a passing curiosity to Adrian, not someone to be taken seriously.

No matter how hard he tried, Noah couldn't find the answers he sought.

Noah's mind was in turmoil as he reached his room, tossing his bag aside in a haphazard manner. He collapsed onto his bed, feeling emotionally drained and unable to make sense of the whirlwind of emotions he had experienced with Adrian.

With his heart heavy and his thoughts consumed by their intense moment, Noah didn't even bother to freshen up. His mind replayed every detail of their passionate kiss, trying to decipher what it meant and why it had happened.

Exhausted from the emotional rollercoaster, Noah eventually drifted off to sleep, his mind still filled with images of Adrian and their entangled emotions.

The next morning, when he woke up, he was startled to find that he had overslept again. He jolted upright, realizing that he was late for work once again. Panic surged through him, and he rushed to get ready as quickly as possible.

Arriving at the office, he found himself trying to focus on his tasks, but his mind kept drifting back to Adrian.

Throughout the day, he kept glancing at the clock, counting down the minutes until he might catch a glimpse of Adrian. However, the day passed by without any sign of the enigmatic CEO.

As the hours ticked by, Noah couldn't ignore the disappointment and unease that settled within him.

It was nearly the end of the day, and as Noah gathered his belongings, he spotted Adrian walking towards his office, with his secretary following closely behind. An idea struck Noah in that moment, as he longed for a chance to meet Adrian again. He quickly recalled the file that Emily had given him, the one requiring Adrian's signature. Holding the file close to his chest, Noah took a deep breath, steeling himself before he decided to seize the opportunity and make his way to Adrian's office.

Noah's heart raced with nervousness, an unfamiliar feeling he had never experienced before. As he approached Adrian's office door, he paused for a moment, taking another deep breath, trying to steady his nerves. He knocked on the door twice, hesitating before he could even open it.

To his surprise, before he could turn the knob, the door opened from the inside, revealing Mike. Noah greeted Adrian's secretary, and Mike nodded in acknowledgment.

"You can go in," he said before walking away.
