Meeting my students

After a while sitting there, I finally stood up. With a cheeky smile, I looked out over the horizon and yelled, "Alright, this is a new path, a new beginning of my life in Tensura, and I will prevail in this world!"

The mountains echoed my declaration, the sound carrying far and wide. I felt a renewed sense of determination and excitement for the challenges and adventures that lay ahead. This world was vast, filled with mysteries and opportunities, and I was ready to face them all head-on.

With a deep breath, I took one last look at the serene landscape before disappearing in a flash of light, ready to embrace my destiny.

"Now I should head back to Solara. Let's see if Eldrin got my new students ready," I said to myself, a sense of purpose driving my words.

With that, I activated my light mode, disappearing from the mountaintop in a flash. The world around me blurred as I moved at the speed of light, the landscape shifting rapidly beneath me.

In mere moments, I arrived back in Solara, the familiar surroundings of the city coming into view. I landed softly, the light dissipating around me as I looked towards the training grounds where Eldrin would be waiting with my new students.

Then I walked towards Eldrin and asked, "Yo Eldrin, you got the students whom I have to teach?"

Eldrin turned towards me, a respectful yet excited look on his face. "Oh, Lord Velsun, you have come back! And yes, I have found suitable students for you." He gestured towards a group of young, eager faces standing nearby, each one filled with anticipation and a hint of nervousness.

I turned my attention to the group of students, giving each one a thorough look. They stood in a line, some shifting nervously while others met my gaze with determination.

"Greetings, everyone," I began, projecting confidence. "I am Velsun, the True Dragon of the Sun. I will be your instructor, guiding you on your path to harnessing your true potential. Now, let's start with introductions. Step forward, state your name, and tell me about your abilities or interests."

The first student, a tall young man with fiery red hair, stepped forward. "My name is Kael. I specialize in fire magic and aspire to become a powerful mage."

Next, a girl with long, silver hair and piercing blue eyes approached. "I'm Lyra. I have an affinity for ice magic and wish to master the art of elemental balance."

A boy with dark, unruly hair and a serious expression followed. "My name is Ren. I focus on earth manipulation and aim to enhance my defensive techniques."

Then, a petite girl with bright green hair and a cheerful demeanor stepped up. "I'm Mia! I have a strong connection with nature and healing magic. I want to learn how to protect and heal others."

Finally, a young man with sharp features and a confident stance introduced himself. "My name is Darius. I excel in wind magic and strive to improve my agility and speed in combat."

I nodded, impressed by the diversity of their skills and ambitions. "Thank you all for your introductions. Together, we will work on honing your abilities and unlocking your true potential. Let's begin this journey towards greatness."

"Alright, Eldrin, you can go for now," I said with a nod.

"Yes, Lord Velsun," Eldrin replied, bowing slightly before departing.

I turned back to the students, my gaze settling on them with interest. "So, how do you guys usually train?" I asked, wanting to understand their current methods and see where improvements could be made.

Kael stepped forward first. "We usually train in our individual magical disciplines. I practice fire magic by casting spells against targets in the training grounds. Our routine involves strengthening our spells and mastering control over the intensity of the flames."

Lyra nodded in agreement. "For ice magic, I focus on controlling the temperature and creating different ice constructs. My training involves precision work and maintaining stability in harsh conditions."

Ren spoke next. "My training revolves around manipulating earth. I often engage in drills to improve my ability to form defensive barriers and control the terrain. I also practice techniques to enhance my strength and endurance."

Mia chimed in with a smile. "For nature and healing magic, I spend a lot of time in the gardens and forests. I practice drawing energy from nature to heal and protect. My training also includes meditative exercises to connect more deeply with nature."

Darius was the last to speak. "I work on wind magic through agility drills and speed exercises. I use wind currents to enhance my movements and improve my reaction times. My training also includes practicing aerial maneuvers."

I listened intently, absorbing the details of their training routines. "It sounds like you all have a solid foundation in your respective areas. We'll build on these methods, refining techniques and incorporating new strategies to enhance your growth. Expect to see some adjustments and new challenges as we move forward."

The students nodded, their expressions showing a mix of curiosity and eagerness.

Velsun stood before his new students with a serious expression, his eyes betraying no hint of hesitation. "Alright, first, I need to assess how strong you are currently. Come at me with everything you have. Don't hold back, and don't hesitate to kill."

The students exchanged nervous glances but quickly steeled themselves. Kael, the fire mage, stepped forward first, determination etched on his face. "Prepare yourself!" he shouted. His hands ignited with blazing flames, and a surge of fiery energy coalesced into a massive fireball. With a powerful thrust, he hurled it towards Velsun.

Without breaking a sweat, Velsun raised a radiant barrier of light. The fireball collided with the barrier, exploding in a burst of fiery sparks that illuminated the surroundings. Velsun remained calm, his barrier absorbing and dissipating the impact effortlessly. "Is that all you've got?" Velsun's voice was cool and collected.

Kael watched in astonishment. "Impossible! That was my strongest spell!"

Lyra, the ice mage, stepped up next, her expression resolute. "My turn," she said, her voice steady. She conjured a series of sharp ice shards, her eyes narrowing in focus. With a flick of her wrist, she unleashed the shards towards Velsun, each one gleaming with deadly precision.

Velsun's gaze was unwavering. He summoned a gust of wind with a mere thought, the air swirling around him to create a protective vortex. "Not so fast," Velsun said as the ice shards collided with the wind barrier and shattered into harmless fragments. Lyra's eyes widened in disbelief.

Lyra's face fell. "How can he counter everything so easily?"

Ren, the earth mage, advanced with grim determination. "Let me try," he said, raising his arms. The ground beneath him quaked as a massive stone pillar erupted from the earth. With a powerful thrust, he hurled the pillar at Velsun with incredible force, the ground shaking with the impact.

Velsun's response was swift and graceful. He formed a protective shield of light, which enveloped him as the stone pillar struck. The pillar disintegrated into dust upon impact. "Nice try, but you'll need more than that," Velsun said with a faint smirk.

Ren stood, slack-jawed. "This is impossible. His defenses are impenetrable!"

Mia, the nature mage, approached next with a determined look. "I'll show you the strength of nature," she said. Her aura shimmered with green energy as she channeled the life force of nature into a wave of vines and healing magic. The vines surged forward, aiming to ensnare Velsun and bind him.

With a fluid motion, Velsun conjured a wave of light that swept away the advancing vines. "Nature's beauty can be quite formidable, but it's no match for pure light," Velsun said as the energy dissipated the magical constructs with ease. Mia looked momentarily stunned.

"Why won't he be trapped?" Mia wondered aloud.

Darius, the wind mage, took to the air, his body enveloped in a vortex of swirling winds. "I'll end this!" he declared, executing rapid aerial maneuvers. He created a barrage of sharp wind blades that sliced through the air with deadly accuracy. The blades flew at Velsun from all directions.

Velsun's eyes flashed with perceptive clarity. He dodged and weaved through the storm of wind blades with effortless agility. "Too slow," Velsun said, his movements precise and calculated as each blade missed its mark. Darius's eyes widened in disbelief.

After the intense display of power and skill, Velsun stood amidst the aftermath of the battle. The students, breathing heavily and looking worn out, gathered around him. Despite their exhaustion, their eyes were filled with a mix of awe and determination.

"You've all shown considerable skill and determination," Velsun said, nodding approvingly. "There's much potential here. The real work begins now. We'll refine your techniques, push your limits, and enhance your strengths."

The students, though fatigued, were invigorated by Velsun's assessment. They understood that their training would be rigorous, but they were ready to embrace the challenge. Velsun's guidance promised not only to elevate their abilities but also to transform them into formidable mages.
