The Samurai's Power
-
"The girl that Fervis brought in… it's saying that her power is…. Unmeasurable."
Rumi seemed to be in somewhat of a panic as she explained the situation to the guild master. A lot of other people inside of this restaurant were also curious about what was going on. So, they bunched up in a crowd behind Fervis and I.
"Unmeasurable? Wouldn't that mean that she is an S-Rank Adventurer, at the minimum?"
"There is the possibility that she might even be in the company of the VIP rank adventures."
The guild master, noticing the level of tension inside the room, summoned Fervis and me to his office. "Can both of you meet with me in my office right now?" His face was full of conflict, and I looked over to Fervis to see if she approved of it.
Her quick head nod was enough for me to approve of the meeting, however, there was no chance I was going to allow that guild master to have his way with Fervis again, so I was prepared to discourage him from behaving in such a manner again.
"We will go, but make sure you keep your hands to yourself," I added with a glare towards him.
"Well, of course I would?" The guild master had a puzzled look on his face as he made eye contact with me.
"Uh… Mimi, I think you have the wrong idea."
-
"Oh… my apologies for acting so aggressively towards you earlier… I thought you were trying to take advantage of Fervis." I bowed my head and apologized to the guild master after we were inside of his office.
The office of the Guild Master was an expansive one. The room was very clean and consisted of one large desk all the way the way in the front and a couch that was separated from the desk by a small wooden table.
Fervis explained to me that she was raised by the guild master, and he helped Fervis become a Court Mage for the royal family. I had already begun to think that the guild master was a shady individual without even thinking about the lack of resistance that was coming from Fervis.
"It's quite alright Mimi, I'm glad to know that Fervis has a friend who cares for her so deeply." The guild master flashed a smile to me, but it almost felt like it was fake for some reason.
"To falsely accuse a civilian of wrongdoings without any sufficient proof is a deed worthy of death…" I unsheathed Minami and turned the blade's edge towards my torso.
"Mimi what are you doing!?" Fervis grabbed my hand and tried to pull the Katana away from me.
"I'm just atoning for my sins as a Samurai should…" I explained as my face showed a puzzled expression 'This is only natural right?'
"You don't need to do that!" Fervis frantically shouted and continued to try to pull the blade away from me. I finally loosened my grip, and I allowed Fervis to pull the Katana from my grasp.
However, the force that Fervis was exerting to pull the Katana from me resulted in her falling over when she finally pulled it from me after I let go.
"Sorry…"

After that brief situation, Rumi and the Guild Master began a conversation with me over how powerful my potential status might be. 'Which is very trivial, after all. This is why strength should be decided in battle!'
"The question at hand is an even bigger thing. Mimi, your status was so overwhelming that our crystal couldn't accurately display all of your stats. Such a powerful person would be sought after by all neighboring kingdoms and that would cause a lot of unease within the Royal Family…."
'What exactly is this old man trying to say?' I thought to myself as a subtle smirk crept up my lips.
"What I'm trying to ask you is… what is your goal for being here, Mimi?"
It finally dawned upon me why the guild master was speaking about all of these politics. 'He views me as a threat to the balance inside of the Capital… not like any of that matters though. I won't take orders from the Royal Family nor the Guild master. If Fervis was to request something of me though…' I briefly smiled as I thought of Fervis cutely begging me to help dispose of a neighboring army.
"I'm only here for one thing…" I grabbed hold of Fervis's slender hand and turned back to face the guild master.
"This girl." I raised Fervis's hand into the air and Fervis squealed in embarrassment. She tried to pull her hand away from me and I released my hold on her hand. Fervis blushed heavily as we made eye contact.
"Idiot." She spun her head, but I noticed the bright red touch on her ears. 'She's so cute when she blushes like that!'
"Excuse me?" Rumi and the Guild master questioned my response with a look of confusion wiped over them.
"Ugh, you fools don't get it? I don't care about your stupid Capital or this shady guild, but wherever Fervis goes is where I will go. If she leaves this city, then I will too. It's quite simple really." My explanation finally satisfied the guild master and Rumi, as they only nodded their heads and whispered something to each other.
I was initially surprised I wasn't able to overhear what they were saying, but then I got the idea to infuse Mythica into my ears. The result was an absolute success. I could now hear the duo's conversation.
"So, what should we do about her, then?" Rumi asked the guild master. 'It's safe to assume that "her" that they are talking about is me.'
"There is no need to do anything. As long as Fervis is here, she will stay around, too. Fervis has been living here all of her life and I don't think that she will be leaving anytime soon. For now, we will just send this information to the King." The guild master explained to her.
"Good Idea master." Rumi chanted as she smiled and focused her attention back on me.
"So, Mimi, we will have your status plate made for you in a week." Rumi's explanation caused me to raise an eyebrow. 'A week? I need a status plate made within three days…'
"Is it possible for you to make it faster? My temporary plate will expire in three days." I explained to the pair, and out of nowhere, Fervis finally spoke in the conversation.
"Please. I don't want Mimi to have to leave the Capital… even if it's only four days." Fervis shifted hesitantly and moved closer to me.
"We wouldn't want Mimi to be forced to leave either, but we don't have the advanced Crystal that can accurately assess Adventures above S-Rank…" Rumi explained solemnly.
"We could use…" The Guild master didn't explain what was referring to, but Rumi seemed to be displeased by his suggestion and shook her head.
"Guild master, you don't mean…" Rumi started to speak, but the guild master cut her off.
"Yes, I do. I will Judge her."
