As Aaron released the shot, he noticed a figure on his right stretching its leg blocking his shot and deviating its path outside to a corner kick.
It was Mark who didn't give up after Aaron surpassed him, but returned to, defend despite the big difference between their pace.
James and Aiden's defensive attempt made it possible for Aaron to return to defense.
When Mark blocked the shot, he quickly got back on his feet, exuding determination. His teammates rushed to him, celebrating the crucial defensive play.
Mark, filled with pride, shouted, "Of course, I will block it because at last, I am responsible for shadowing him!" The fans erupted in applause, appreciating his tenacity and dedication.
The Tigers' midfielder took the corner, sending a high, looping ball into the box. While anticipating the danger, Aiden leaped gracefully and cleared the ball with a powerful header.
Moments later, in the 22nd minute, the Eagles earned a corner kick. Michael delivered a well-placed ball into the crowded penalty area, but the Tigers' defenders managed to clear it away.
As the ball descended toward the Tigers' midfielder, Aaron saw an opportunity and sprinted into space, signaling for a pass.
However, before the midfielder could control the ball, James intervened. He timed his jump perfectly and directed the ball with his head towards Taylor.
Taylor, aware of the potential danger of losing possession, chose not to dribble. Instead, he set the ball with a deft touch and launched a direct shot from outside the box.
The ball soared through the air, seemingly headed straight for the goal. As it approached, it struck a defender, causing a sudden change in direction.
The goalkeeper, who had already jumped to the original trajectory, was left fixed, unable to react.
The ball found the back of the net, and the Eagles scored their second goal. The stadium erupted in a deafening roar as fans leaped to their feet, waving scarves and banners, celebrating wildly.
The atmosphere was electric, with cheers and applause echoing through the stands.
Taylor, exhilarated, ran towards the corner flag, and repeated the same celebration as the first goal, putting his hands under his armpits; Mbappe's celebration.
When the Eagles scored their second goal, the Tigers' players lost their composure. Their formation crumbled, and each player, driven by desperation, began to attack individually.
The pressure of the game and the big score caused their youthful minds to falter, leading to chaotic play. This lack of structure made it easy for the Eagles to recover every ball.
In the 25th minute, Aiden intercepted a loose ball, quickly passing it to Michael. Without hesitation, Michael sent a swift pass to Taylor.
Seizing the opportunity, Taylor advanced towards the Tigers' goal. The disorganized formation of the Tigers made it easy for Taylor to exploit the gaps. He sprinted down the wing, effortlessly dribbling past the first defender.
As Taylor entered the penalty area, another defender attempted to block his path. Taylor executed a quick body feint to the left, then shifted the ball to his right, leaving the defender off-balance.
In a desperate attempt to recover, the defender stretched out his leg, touching Taylor's shin.
The slight contact was enough to disrupt Taylor's stride and send him tumbling to the ground.
The referee, positioned perfectly to see the incident, immediately blew his whistle and pointed to the penalty spot.
The fans erupted in a mix of cheers and boos, with Eagles supporters celebrating the opportunity and Tigers fans protesting the decision.
Lying on the ground, Taylor felt a mix of pain and triumph as he knew his run had earned his team a crucial penalty.
Michael, the team's designated penalty taker, approached Taylor and handed him the ball, signaling the chance for Taylor to complete his hat trick.
Taylor, feeling the weight of the moment, placed the ball on the spot. He took a deep breath, eyes focused, and then struck the ball with precision towards the bottom left corner of the goal.
The goalkeeper, guessing wrong, leaped to the right as the ball nestled into the net.
The stadium erupted in cheers as Taylor celebrated his hat trick. He raised three fingers to the fans, symbolizing his three goals, before repeating his iconic celebration for the third time. The energy from the crowd was hot, fueling the team's momentum.
Kay, watching from the sidelines, felt a mix of pride and concern. The score was now three to zero, a commanding lead, but he noticed the Tigers' players were visibly dejected, their spirits crushed.
Mr. Williams, the Tigers' coach, paced anxiously, frustration etched on his face. However, one player stood out amidst the gloom: Aaron.
His expression remained fierce and determined, eyes burning with an unyielding resolve despite the overwhelming scoreline.
In the 25th minute, the referee decided not to add any additional time, recognizing the exhausted and demoralized state of the Tigers' players, and finishing the first half with his whistle.
During the halftime break, Kay gathered his team and offered praise for their performance.
"I have no remarks, you all played excellently, just continue playing like in the first half."
He then turned his attention to Mark, "Remember to keep an eye on Aaron. I think he'll be just as much of a threat in the second half."
As the teams reentered the field for the second half, Kay immediately noticed changes in the Tigers' lineup.
They had substituted two midfielders and one defender, clearly attempting to shake things up.
The formation shift was apparent too; the Tigers had moved from their initial 2-3-1 setup to a more aggressive 2-1-2-1 formation.
This new arrangement featured one central midfielder, two wingers, and Aaron remaining as the lone striker upfront.
When Kay saw this change, he was confused, because this change wasn't suitable for their playstyle.
This change could cause significant problems for Kay's defense because Kay's first tactic was defending against one player, not three.
But now, his defense had to keep an eye on Aaron and the wingers simultaneously.
In the 30th minute, Taylor lost the ball, and the Tigers launched a counterattack. The defender quickly passed the ball to the midfielder, who advanced until Michael pressed him.
The midfielder then passed to the winger, who was unmarked and ran a long distance before James went out to press him. The winger cleverly cut inside and crossed the ball to Aaron.
Aaron was now near just two players: Mark and Aiden. With his honed dribbling skills, Aaron deftly maneuvered the ball with a series of quick, precise touches, teasing it left and right to keep Mark guessing.
Aiden approached to reduce the space between them, creating a tight defensive setup. Sensing an opportunity, Aaron performed a subtle fast run to the right.
This move, drew both Mark and Aiden towards him, trying to block the path of the ball towards the goal before Aaron made the shot.
In an unexpected twist, Aaron used his heel to backheel the ball towards the left winger, who was near the box and completely unmarked.
The winger, along with Mark, Aiden, and even Kay, was shocked that Aaron had passed the ball instead of taking the shot himself.
That act confirmed a thought in Kay's mind; he was thinking that because of the first half's heavy score, Aaron's arrogance broke down, and that would push him to be a player for the team.
The winger took the ball towards the goal, positioned his body, and aimed a shot at the far angle.
Ethan anticipated the shot and made a spectacular save, deflecting the ball near the goal.
However, Aaron, having followed through on his initial play, was in the perfect position to capitalize on the rebound.
With a quick and decisive move, he tapped the ball into the net, scoring under the stunned gaze of Mark and Aiden.
The score now stood at 3-1, and the Tigers found a glimmer of hope following their goal.
Their fans, once silenced by the Eagles' commanding lead, erupted into cheers, their shouts filling the air with high energy.
On the sideline, Kay sensed the shift in momentum and knew he had to act quickly to stabilize his team.
"Return to defense!" he shouted, his voice ringing out clearly over the din of the crowd.
"Five at the back!" He swiftly made tactical adjustments, swapping Taylor for Noah and Michael for Alex.
With this change, Kay set up a fortified defensive line comprising five players, with only Alex left to spearhead the attack.
This meant the Eagles were now focused entirely on defense, hoping to hold onto their two-goal lead amid the rising pressure from the Tigers.
As the match progressed, the tension thickened. In the 35th minute, the Tigers' winger found himself with the ball, faced with Liam on the right wing.
The winger, a crafty player known for his agility, sized up the situation, noting the space available behind Liam.
With a quick flick of his foot, he launched into a dazzling display of dribbling. He feinted left, drawing Liam in, before smoothly gliding past him on the right side.
Liam's attempt to tackle was too late, and the winger burst into open space, advancing towards the crowded penalty area.
With a keen eye, the winger surveyed the scene in front of him. He spotted several Tigers players converging on the goal, their movements synchronized with a desperate urgency to close the gap.
Noticing that the Eagles' defenders were preoccupied with marking their assigned opponents, the winger decided to make a side pass into the heart of the penalty area, where he anticipated one of his teammates would be waiting to take a shot.
Mark, however, was alert to the play developing in front of him. He tracked the ball's trajectory, anticipating the pass meant for a Tigers' player lurking in the box.
As the ball approached, Mark lunged forward, extending his foot just in time to intercept the pass.
His clearance, however, lacked the force necessary to send it far from danger. Instead, it bounced off his foot, rolling awkwardly out of the penalty area, where it fell into the path of none other than Aaron.
Aaron, the star player for the Tigers, was quick to react. Positioned just outside the box, he had been waiting for such an opportunity.
With a single touch, he brought the ball under control, his eyes narrowing as he set himself for a powerful shot. The air crackled with anticipation as he unleashed a direct strike towards the roof of the goal.
