Getting Caught and Getting Help

Tunde and Nneoma sat on the couch in her living room, the dim lighting and soft music creating a cosy atmosphere. They had been dating for a few months now, and Nneoma had noticed a change in Tunde's behaviour lately. He had been sleeping during classes but Nneoma knew him too well. She could see the distant look in his eyes, the way he seemed to be hiding something.

"Tunde, what's going on with you?" Nneoma asked, her voice soft but concerned. "You've been acting strange lately, sneaking out at night and coming back looking like you've seen a ghost. What's going on?"

Tunde sighed, running his hands through his hair. "Nneoma, I don't know how to explain it. I just...I need to do this. I need to sing, to perform. It's like a part of me is dying if I don't."

Nneoma's eyes widened in surprise. "Sing? Perform? Tunde, you're still in secondary school. What are you talking about?"

Tunde took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. "I know it sounds crazy, but music is my passion. It's what makes me feel alive. And I've been performing at secret gigs, just to get it out of my system."

Nneoma's expression changed from confusion to understanding. "Oh, Tunde. I had no idea. But why sneak around? Why not just tell your mom and me about it?"

Tunde shook his head. "My mom would never approve. She wants me to focus on my studies, get good grades and go to university. But music is my heart, Nneoma. And I can't give it up."

Nneoma nodded, a smile spreading across her face. "I get it. And I support you, Tunde. But maybe there's a way to do both. Have you considered starting a YouTube channel? You could post your music online, reach a wider audience, and still keep your passion alive without sneaking around."

Tunde's eyes lit up, a spark of excitement igniting within him. "A YouTube channel? That's a great idea, Nneoma! I could do that!"

Nneoma grinned, taking his hand in hers. "I knew you'd see it. And I'll be right there with you, supporting you every step of the way. But you'll have to promise you'll still be dedicated to your studies"

Tunde's heart swelled with gratitude, knowing he had found a partner who understood him, and who supported his dreams. And with Nneoma by his side, he knew he could conquer anything, even the secrets and lies that had been weighing him down.ReplyForwardAdd reaction
