Chapter 17: Giving Salt to the Little People

The villagers lined up to get their meals.

The adults first used plates to put all three dishes on the plates for the children, and then served some noodles with soybean paste, and then seated the children.

The air was filled with a strong aroma of rice, which made people drool.

No one fought for the food, and no one cut in line, because there was plenty of food and everyone knew that they would definitely be full and there was no need to rush.

These days, it is already very good to have enough food to eat, and basically no one is picky about food. But today's meal was too rich, and some villagers directly scooped up a full bowl of sweet and sour pork tenderloin and a bowl of chicken legs.

"Old Zheng, why do you only eat meat?"

"Hey, I've been craving meat for a long time. Today I finally get to eat it. Of course I want to eat as much as I can at once and enjoy it to my heart's content!"

"We are really enjoying a good life. Before the famine, we could only afford to eat meat a few times a year. Now we have so much meat. It is really a luxury."

"It would be even more perfect if there was some wine..."

"What are you thinking about? You still want to drink? Be careful that the village chief will beat you up."

"Hehe, I'm just kidding. Being able to have a full meal is better than anything else."

Soon, most of the sweet and sour pork tenderloin was eaten because many children love to eat it.

However, everyone found that the chicken thighs were also delicious, tender and crispy, and every bite was exceptionally delicious.

Seeing how happily the little ones were eating, Luo Mingyue couldn't help but take out the beggar's chicken from the storage space and gnawed on it while watching the little ones eat.

Most of the noodles with soybean paste was left, as was some egg drop soup, and the other three dishes were all gone.

"Hic~"

The children were very satisfied with the meal.

They each got a bowl of noodles and went home, ready to eat when they were hungry in the afternoon.

Luo Mingyue reached out and spread a piece of pink cloth in Mo Jin's yard.

The fabric was so soft that it took up half of his yard.

Luo Mingyue used a clean small spoon to scoop some flour and put it on.

Put the flour in one pile and the spiritual rice in another.

They are all raw, so the little ones can cook for themselves.

Flour is just ordinary flour. There is only spiritual rice in the world of immortals. The rest of the food is the same as in the mortal world, nothing special.

The villagers could not see Luo Mingyue's hands, but they could see the cloth and the spoon.

"The immortal has given good things to the Mojin Village Chief's family!"

The villagers were all very happy.

Before long, they were happier because every household was treated the same.

The villagers went back home, waiting for the immortal to distribute cloth and food.

The colors of the cloth are different, some are light pink, some are goose yellow, and some are light green.

The fabrics were very soft, and covered with snow-white flour and pure rice, which made people happy just by looking at them.

Some villagers were so excited that they had forgotten what Jiang Yanfeng had said, "Immortals don't like to be worshipped on their knees." They kowtowed three times to the pile of rice and shouted, "Thank you, Immortal! I am willing to work like a cow or a horse to repay you in this life or the next!"

There were a total of fifteen households, and Luo Mingyue gave food to all of them.

The villagers began to carry food, moving the rice into their own rice jars and putting the flour into cloth bags.

After the rice jar was filled, they found that it was still not enough, so they simply freed up the water jar to use as the rice jar. There was plenty of clean water in the "White Porcelain Fairy Pond" anyway, so they didn't have to go out of the village to fetch water, which was very convenient.

Luo Mingyue watched the little people busying themselves.

After they finished mixing the spiritual rice, Luo Mingyue added eggplants, potatoes, and cucumbers to the fabric one by one.

Only a small spoonful of each vegetable was added, as I was afraid that if I added more, there would be no place to store them. Moreover, these vegetables had already been peeled and cut into small pieces and were not cooked, so I didn't know how long they could be stored.

Cucumbers can be eaten raw, and are refreshing. Some people ate too much meat at noon, so now is the perfect time to eat a few bites of cucumbers.

The little people were as happy as if it were New Year's Day.

After working for a long time, they finally brought all the food given by the immortal back into the house.

Then, the villagers began to admire the cloth on the ground. "This cloth is really good. It can be used to make clothes..."

"The immortal is so kind-hearted. He was afraid that the food would get dirty on the ground, so he spread such a beautiful cloth."

Luo Mingyue took away all the cloth on the ground.

Because she saw some flour left on the fabric, some of the little people were reluctant to waste it and even licked the raw flour directly on it...

Seeing piece after piece of cloth rising into the air and disappearing into the sky, the villagers were a little disappointed, but they also felt it was natural. They were able to live and have enough food to eat, all thanks to the immortals. Not to mention if the immortals took away the cloth, even if they took away their clothes, they would not have any complaints.

Luo Mingyue still had a lot of clean cloth on hand, so she cut the cloth into smaller pieces and gave two pieces of cloth to each household.

Luo Mingyue briefly showed her face in the sky and said, "This is for you. You can make clothes."

After leaving these words, she "disappeared" again.

Some villagers do not have children at home, or their children are over six years old. They cannot see the immortals or hear their words, so they will go out to ask their neighbors to see if the immortals have any instructions.

When the little people learned that the cloth was given to each family by the immortals, they were overjoyed.

But some people feel dreamy:

"This...this day is too good."

"I suddenly wonder if the people in our village are hallucinating because they ate the black flowers. Otherwise, why would everyone dream of such outrageous things, imagining that fairies give them food and cloth... Should we imagine marrying a fairy next?"

"Shut up and don't offend the immortal, or I'll beat you up!"

The little people walked together and continued to take care of the flowers and plants in the farmland.

Although the fabric is good, many people do not know how to cut clothes and are reluctant to make it into bed sheets and quilt covers, so they simply keep it in the closet as a treasure.

Luo Mingyue washed the cloth that had been used as a mat when distributing food, as well as the stone basin that had been used, and wiped the stone basin dry with a towel and hung it out to dry.

Seeing that there was a large empty jar in the yard of Jiang Yanfeng's house, Luo Mingyue simply filled it with salt.

Jiang Yanfeng is quite busy. As the village chief, he has to inspect the entire village. Now that every household has enough food and has solved the problem of survival, Jiang Yanfeng began to pay attention to the mental state and psychological health of the villagers.

"There are more than a dozen children in the village. Some help with housework, and some play in the streets..." Jiang Yanfeng wondered whether he should open a private school. He used to teach children in the town and later returned to the village. As the only scholar in the village, he felt that he needed to pay attention to the growth of the next generation.

If it weren't for the immortal's favor, Jiang Yanfeng would not have meddled in other people's affairs. Other people's children had nothing to do with him, but now, he had to consider his future development.

With the protection of the immortal, I can't just stay in this small village and farm for a living my whole life, right?

I have to go out and take a look.

If possible, it would be best to collect rare treasures from all over the world and present them to the immortals.

Jiang Yanfeng lowered his head and thought intently until he felt a shadow looming. He raised his head and saw a beautiful hand like white jade holding a spoon and putting something in his yard.

Jiang Yanfeng hurried home and saw that the jar in the yard had been filled. He looked up in surprise: "Fairy, this is..."

Luo Mingyue poked her head out from the horizon and said, "It's salt. Share some with everyone."
