CONNECTING THE DOTS

"What the fuck, Ches! You seriously thought I needed pads from you?" Fiona thundered, just as I’d expected.

I smirked, leaning back against the headboard beside her as she rummaged through the package. She sat cross-legged on the bed, dressed in an all-black fluffy onesie that screamed witchy Halloween vibes. If she wasn’t so cute, I’d say she nailed the perfect costume.

She rolled her eyes, pausing to glare at me. "This doesn’t come with a gun or knife, right? Because I will kill you. What the hell is—"

She stopped mid-rant, her eyes lighting up as she pulled out a bag of gummy bears. "Oh my gosh! Gummies!" she squealed, tearing it open like a kid on Christmas morning. She tossed one into her mouth with zero hesitation.

I grinned. "Ming never gets you those?"

She pouted. "Ming just avoids me completely. Stays out of the blast zone, you know? Survival tactics."

"Well, he’s not wrong," I said, dodging a kick she aimed at me.
