STORMY RIDE

As dawn broke over the camp, the normal bustle of soldiers getting ready for the day permeated the air. Metal clanged, and voices buzzed with pleasant conversation. Suddenly, a frightening scream cut through the morning serenity, stopping everyone in their tracks.

Eleanor's heart skipped a beat as she spun toward the cry, excitement rushing. She ran to the commotion without thinking twice, her mind racing with anxiety.

Eleanor's blood chilled as she approached the site. Three warriors lay still, twisted in pain, foam gushing at their mouths. As soldiers surrounded the site, their expressions were filled with amazement and disbelief.

"What's going on?" Eleanor's voice shook as she knelt alongside the fallen. Silence responded to her, a deathly stillness that weighed heavily.

Eleanor looked around and noticed other lifeless creatures scattered nearby. Birds, small creatures, and even insects lay lifeless, their bodies distorted.
