The team emerged from the damp tunnel into an enormous, circular chamber. It was like stepping into an ancient coliseum, but instead of seats, there were concentric layers of platforms and stairs spiraling down toward a central dais. The air was heavy with the scent of old stone, and faint echoes seemed to come from every direction, making it impossible to pinpoint their source.
“Welcome to the labyrinth,” Shadow murmured, scanning the area with her scope.
The dais in the middle caught everyone’s attention. It was adorned with intricate carvings and a massive compass rose etched into the floor, each direction marked with strange runes glowing faintly. Four staircases extended from the center like spokes of a wheel, leading to dark, shadowy passageways on the outer walls.
“This place screams ‘trap,’” Viper muttered, gripping her blade tightly.
“Agreed,” Rook said, motioning for the team to spread out. “Stay sharp. Ghost, check the carvings. Shadow, cover him.”
