Story 460: The Spiral of Fate

The circular chamber was unlike anything the team had ever encountered. The intricate spiral staircases converged into a massive, central platform suspended over a dark abyss. Faint whispers echoed from the depths below, their source unknown. The air carried a charged energy, each breath heavy with unease.

Rook signaled the team to spread out, his sharp eyes scanning the room. The platform’s center bore a massive sigil, pulsating faintly with crimson light. Around it, symbols carved into the stone glowed sporadically, forming an incomplete pattern.

“Stay alert,” he commanded. “This place is alive.”

Ghost crouched by the edge, his gloved fingers tracing the ancient carvings. “These markings… they’re coordinates,” he murmured. “This whole room is some kind of mechanism. A puzzle meant to test us.”

Viper stood at the edge of a staircase, her combat knife in hand. “A test for what, exactly?” she asked, her tone laced with suspicion.
