Story 468:The Hidden Sanctuary

The warm wooden door creaked behind them as it swung shut, sealing the team inside an entirely new environment. The catacombs’ damp chill was replaced by a surprisingly serene ambiance. They stood in what seemed to be an underground sanctuary, carved meticulously into the stone. The air was filled with a faint scent of cedar and earth, illuminated by soft, golden light radiating from glowing stones embedded in the walls.

The team’s eyes immediately scanned the room. At its center was a circular table made of polished wood, surrounded by simple chairs. Along the walls were shelves filled with old tomes, vials, and peculiar artifacts that glinted under the gentle light. But what drew their attention the most was the large mural carved into the stone behind the table—a depiction of a celestial body eclipsing the sun, surrounded by robed figures bowing in reverence.

“This place is… different,” Shadow murmured, lowering her weapon slightly. “It’s not hostile—yet.”
