Story 867: Spawn of the Devourer

Darkness swallowed the survivors as they descended into the underground tunnel. The air was thick with moisture and decay, the scent of something unnatural curling through the confined space.

Leon flicked on his flashlight, the weak beam revealing rusted pipes and blood-stained walls. “Anyone else getting a bad feeling about this?”

“You mean besides the giant monster outside?” Mia whispered.

Evelyn knelt, pressing her fingers into the dried blood. It was still warm. “We’re not alone.”

Before anyone could react, a deep, guttural growl rumbled from the darkness ahead.

Then they saw it.

Emerging from the shadows, a new horror revealed itself. Its crimson flesh pulsed with an unnatural rhythm, its brain-like head twitching with anticipation. The creature’s elongated tongue lashed the air, tasting them, and its massive claws scraped the floor, sending sparks flying.
