Story 878: The Unkillable

The room filled with horror as the Watcher’s flesh reformed before their eyes. The charred remnants of its skull pulsed, tendrils writhing as the muscle and bone knit itself back together.

“That’s not possible,” Lucas muttered, reloading his grenade launcher.

“We need to move—NOW!” Evelyn shouted.

The Watcher’s jaw snapped open, a grotesque, wet sound filling the air as its elongated tongue lashed forward like a spear.

Leon shoved Evelyn aside just in time, the tendril piercing the metal wall behind her. Sparks rained down as the creature let out a deep, bone-rattling growl.

Reaper aimed high, unloading a full clip into its exposed brain. The Watcher shrieked, its body convulsing as each shot tore through the regenerating tissue. But it wasn’t dying.

It was adapting.

Samantha grabbed a Molotov. “Burn the bastard!”
