“Ace I hope you don’t mind but my dad really wants to meet you.”
He looks at me with a raised eyebrow.
“Should I be worried?”
“Maybe, maybe not.”
“Do I have to confess my sins?”
I throw a pillow at him, and he giggles.
“He's not catholic and I need you to take this seriously, Ace. It’s a really big deal for me.”
He sighs as he pulls me into his arms.
“I know Cupcake, but... I’m not great with dads. I charm mothers easily but dads, tend to not like me.”
“I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t like you.”
And I can imagine my mother would love him if she ever got to meet him.
He chuckles.
“I can think of a few, but I’ll take it.”
I pull away from him only to straddle him, and tickle him. He flinches away from me trying to catch my hands.
“Why are you being such a negative Nancy huh?” I ask him as I tickle his armpits, and his laughter warms my heart.
“Ahh! Okay! Stop!”
“Say mercy,” I demand and he shakes his head.
