Tea

5 days later:

“Cameron... I will not make you more chocolate cookies. You’ve already eaten all of my last ones.”

He sighs as he gives me his puppy dog eyes. I chuckle.

“Nice try Cameron, that only works on Clara.”

“Okay, okay, let me try again...”

He gives me more dramatic puppy dog eyes, and I crack. He almost looks like puss in boots, except with multi-colored eyes.

“Ahh, fine! But you can’t take them all.” I point a warning finger at him and he holds a hand up.

“I swear, I’ll try not to take the whole batch home.”

I nod.

“Good.”

As I’m baking cookies, Clara appears next to me and plops a piece of raw dough in her mouth. I give her a playful glare, and she giggles.

“Wanna go out to the movies with me tonight?” She asks eagerly.

It has been a while since I’ve been to a movie theater.

“Yeah, let’s do it. What good movies are there?”

She thinks about it for a long time.
