Two days later:
Ace POV:
I keep replaying the moment my daughter was born over and over again in my head, like a movie I can’t stop watching. Her little fist latches onto my pinky finger, and her big hazel eyes look into mine curiously, as she is cradled inside Clara’s arms.
“Hey shortcake, are you ready to go home and see the beautiful nursery your mom and I created? Oh, you’re going to love it, there’s an ocean mural with dolphins, with cakes on their heads, and pastry decorations.”
I talk to my daughter as if she can fully understand me and I see a little smile play on her beautiful face.
“Okay, I’m ready,” Heather says as she comes out of the bathroom, and grabs the baby bag that Clara gave to her as a gift.
Clara hands me my shortcake and pouts because she can’t hold her longer.
“Don’t worry Clara, you will babysitting, so you will see more of her,” I say while placing a kiss on my sister’s head.
