Ariel lay on her bed, lost in thought till God knows when before it finally occurred to her that she had a date.
She looked up at the clock and she knew she was going to be late.
She wanted to give it her best and tried to dress more girly as she didn't want Daniel to be disappointed. She knew guys loved a sexy chick.
She went through her wardrobe after freshening up, only to discover she really didn't have much of female clothing.
She really didn't want to disappoint Daniel. Just when she thought of giving up, she sighted a lemon dress Jessica had gifted her on her seventeen birthday.
She said a silent prayer for Jessica in her mind as she quickly got dressed.
"Should I put on make up?" She looked around the room asking no one in particular. "Nahh, I'd look too desperate, just lip gloss would do."
She looked at her wall clock and it was already ten pass five. So much for making an ideal first impression. she sighed helplessly.
After dressing up, she went over to the mirror and hell yeah she was contented with what she saw. She praised her mother inwardly for leaving her something useful.
She had the shape. She didn't need to ask to figure that out. Although she looked a lot like her dad, she knew to be grateful that she got her mother's shape.
She had always thought her dad fell for her mum's looks and shape, because they was really nothing to like about her mother's character. Her mother was pretty and always got stares whenever they went on family outings when she was little. It was no wonder she couldn't stay with her father; she probably found someone with more money and her greed didn't let her stay and made her leave without a second thought. Oh well, it was her mother's loss for not having a great man like her father. She took her purse after putting on her Snickers. she really wasn't the fashionista but she felt she wasn't that bad either.
After one last glance at the mirror, she headed straight towards the restaurant.
After she got off her cab, she went over to the receptionist to ask about their table's location.
"What's your name miss?" The receptionist asked with a polite business like smile.
"Am Ariel," she replied equally with a small smile playing on her plum lips. She couldn't help but noticed how the receptionist expression made a 360-degrees change.
If she was polite before and extremely business like, now she was nervous. Gone was the confidence she had seen earlier.
"Oh mam, am sorry for not recognising you, my apologies. Please don't hold it against me mam, I'd take you to mister Daniel's table immediately."
'Mam?' Ariel subconscious eyed her suspiciously.
"Thank you?" Ariel replied in what sounded like a question. Why was the receptionist suddenly nervous? And do they usually see each customer to there table?
"Here we are mam," she smiled politely as they got to a private room. She was now curious to why they wouldn't be eating outside the restaurant like some other people. Ariel wasn't stupid, she knew something was off.
They were two possibilities; either Daniel isn't an ordinary guy or the person who owed him a favour was a big shot. She knew this restaurant and was smart enough to know they wouldn't treat any random rich second generation heir this nice.
"Thank you miss. And the name is Ariel, not mam, am still a young girl." Ariel said politely with a hint of dissatisfaction in her voice.
"I would make sure to keep that on my mind next time. Enjoy your meal." she replied as she hurried away. Ariel didn't know how long she stood still at the door before reminding herself she was already late. She took in few deep breaths before knocking.
"Come in." she heard a voice from inside.
"Fuck me, why the hell does he sounds so nice?" she cursed inwardly as she walked in.
She walked in slowly and saw a figure with his back against her, he was obviously on a call. He quickly gave out few orders silently before ending the call. He slowly spun around to face Ariel. Once her hazel eyes locked with his brown ones she slowly sucked in her breath.
"Breath Ariel," she coaxed herself
