Sitting on a bench in front of the street food stall, Hirvan was munching on his sandwich with relish. After experiencing so many ups and downs in his past life, the ability to adapt to any dead-end situation was far rooted in him.
He remained convinced that he should distance himself from his children and friends. It was too much drama for him to take this challenge head-on. Furthermore, no one sane could believe that he had possessed an eighteen-year-old boy.
The word give up was not included in his vocabulary. So, he knew if he wanted to get back all his past achievements and family members, he would go to any length, even to the ends of the earth. But the turmoil and heartache he would give to his two precious sons in the way of taking back everything was too unfair treatment for them.
Having spent their childhood with him in poverty and violence for lighting his guilt and burden was enough to pay for his selfish wish. Why does he have to take them to hell again for his selfishness?
Hirvan sighed in apprehension.
Along with them, he now has a new family in the countryside. From what he saw during his two weeks living with them, the original body was an unfilial son and brother. While the mother worked tirelessly as a designer to run the household, the son spent his time and money at an internet cafe with a questionable crowd or opted to befriend wealthy boys to gain favour or money. Despicable!
Coming here was his last attempt to distinguish any threat of hope to reconcile with his past.
Facing reality head-on was the most suitable approach for him. Picking up his phone, Hirvan sent a text message to Alec, informing him of his departure from the city.
" Boss, can I have another one to go?"
Hirvan shouted enthusiastically at the stall owner.
He really had missed the taste of this kind of down-to-earth sandwich. The problem was not with him not being able to come to buy street food but with his weak stomach.
After experiencing years of hunger in childhood and then being forced to drink excessive amounts of alcohol as an adult, his body could not take it anymore and started manifesting symptoms.
He had kept it secret from people around him. The incident that occurred during his last hiking trip was also connected to his illness. He lost his balance and grabbed the railing reflexively due to an abrupt pain in his stomach that led to the throwing up of blood. The safety hazard was broken by his sudden force and the accumulation of snow behind it.
Who would be able to guess that he would die in a bizarre mishap that caused a snowslide?
It was fortunate that he was by himself. Otherwise, he would have been overwhelmed by the guilt of implicating others and killing innocent people.
Frozen to death…. The blue sky was his last recollection.
"Here, it's your steak sandwich with extra pickles."
The voice of the stall owner brought Hirvan back to the present.
Taking his extra sandwich, Hirvan stood up and thanked the owner as well.
Bracing himself for a night adventure in the city where he lived for 25 years, he strolled leisurely down the street.
He heard a car honk in the middle of the night near him. Ignoring it, Hirvan continued his pace.
" How much for a night?"
A slurry remark made by the person in the passenger seat of the car.
Hirvan's face was a question mark. 'What is this? Now I can't even walk down the street. What in the world am I resembling a prostitute?'
He looked down at his clothes. A black wool jumper, blue jeans, and a white Snickers came into his view.
Is there a dress code that he was not aware of?
"Hey, aren't you the little plaything of the young master Alec? Why pretend? Come on, I can give you double his pay!"
Hirvan halted and turned his head toward the red sports car. A young man with a ruddy face looked at him, wearing a mocking smile.
The wheels on Hirvan's head began to shift and all his questions were answered.
' Ah! I really thought I had come to another world! Give me a scare!'
Hirvan's eyes lit up. As he got closer to the car, he watched the young man with interest as he scanned him up and down.
His bulging arm muscles showed that he was concerned about displaying his good physique, and the clothes he was wearing were all flashy.
'Tch, it's either a nouveau-richer or someone who has an inferiority complex! Do you know how many admirers, men or women, have chased me before?'
Hirvan raised his eyebrow and said with a snicker.
" Are you worthy?"
The young man's facial features changed from ridicule to disbelief, culminating in anger.
He got out of the car, intending to teach a lesson to this little bitch.
Hirvan was aware that his body wasn't as agile and nimble as his previous life, but he still had the experience of fighting multiple times.
He dodged the punch that the man threw at his face while stretching his leg and kicking the back of the man's knee, causing the man to lose his balance. Then hit the back of the man's neck making him fall to the ground. Due to his rapid movement, the driver didn't comprehend how his companion was knocked out in a second.
Hirvan grinned wickedly and gestured for the other person to come forward.
The driver hesitated to engage in a fight with the boy. Disregarding the boy's good fighting skills, he was just an unknown person compared to Alec. It was not a wise or beneficial decision to offend an influential person for aiding this pathetic young master.
" I don't have any beef with you. It was this young master's order to stop the car. I am just a little follower of him. He had drunk a lot tonight and I was supposed to drive him back home."
Hirvan remained silent and backed away from the unconscious man. His eyes scrutinized the man carefully. Despite the low chance of him possessing a weapon, he kept his motto 'once bitten, twice shy'.
His tense body relaxed when the car left his view, with the driver and the beaten man in its back seat.
'Life is really hard. Even if I wanted to live quietly, other people would come running to provoke me first!'
Hirvan shrugged his shoulders and clicked his phone to search for a ride. The Sooner he could go back to this original body's town, the better!
