Hirvan sat across from Fu Yan in the quiet restaurant, absently picking at his meal. The food was good, but the taste barely registered. His thoughts kept drifting, pulled irresistibly towards Lu Hanbing. The scene in the hotel room still played in his mind, replaying every detail like a film stuck on repeat. He hadn't noticed any signs that Lu Hanbing was suspicious of him, but a lingering sense of unease remained all the same.
Fu Yan, watching him carefully from across the table, noticed the subtle shifts in Hirvan's expression, the way his brow furrowed slightly, and how his eyes lost focus. He frowned, concern etching lines on his usually calm face.
"What's bothering you?"
Fu Yan asked, his voice gentle but probing.
"Hm?"
Hirvan blinked, momentarily startled out of his thoughts. He glanced up at Fu Yan, realizing he hadn't been fully present.
