Ch 8 - Returning

Soon, Diablo started to tell the exorcist about Hell, about demons, and Lucifer, the king of Hell.

"Enough about Hell, I want to know more about the human world," the exorcist said.

Diablo began to tell him about what his mother had told him.

"There has been a massive war between angels, demons, and humans. The demons lost the war and in the human world, they are used as slaves. The demons who somehow escape slavery return to Hell, never setting foot out of it again."

"Hahaha, good news, good news. Just as I expected from those demon bastards."

"Here, take this healing potion," the exorcist said, handing the potion to Diablo.

Diablo drank the potion without waiting. He knew waiting would only waste time and arouse the exorcist's suspicion.

After drinking the healing potion, Diablo felt a strange tickle in his stomach and warmth all over his body.

What Diablo didn't know was that his body, which was outside the mind space, was rapidly healing. The healing potion he had just drunk was a high-tier potion. Demons would kill each other for such a quality potion; it was a rarity in Hell.

After feeling that he was healed, Diablo looked at the exorcist.

But the exorcist frowned at Diablo and said, "Although you have removed the immediate threat, what about the threats that are yet to come toward you?"

"Threats that are yet to come toward me?" Diablo asked in confusion.

"Yes, it's about your lifespan. I don't know what technique you are using, but it is clearly taking away your lifespan. At most, you have 60 years to live, and if you continue to use that technique, 20 years of your lifespan will be reduced in the next ten years."

"What?" Diablo was surprised. Although he knew that the 'Abyss Soul and Hell Body' technique used lifespan to increase the body's potential, he didn't know it had consumed so much of his lifespan.

"But that's not the only problem," the exorcist continued. "Just like me, there are several people who can see through your soul, and they can find your real identity and kill you before you even see them. Some of those mighty beings are present in Hell."

"What?" Diablo still couldn't understand if it was good luck that he had found the exorcist or bad luck.

Noticing Diablo's depression, the exorcist spoke, "Don't worry, I have a solution to both of your problems."

Diablo looked at the exorcist straight in the eye without hiding any of his emotions and spoke, "Sigh, what is the price of it?"

"You are really smart, but to tell the truth, you don't have anything you could give me. The information you previously provided was the only thing valuable to me."

Diablo, with puppy dog eyes, looked at the exorcist. "Sigh, please, sir."

"Alright, alright, you don't have to give me that look. I am thinking about what to do," the exorcist said, starting to contemplate what he could take away from Diablo.

After contemplating for some time, the exorcist had an idea.

"Alright, that's the perfect way," the exorcist said. As he spoke, a paper materialized in front of him.

"What is this?" Diablo asked.

"It's a contract," the exorcist said.

"Contract?" Diablo asked.

"If you sign this contract, it will be bound to your soul and will ensure that you fulfill my request. If you can't do it, the contract will take away your life."

"What... what are the conditions of the contract?" Diablo asked, calming his mind, which was in chaos at this moment, contemplating whether to take the contract or not.

The exorcist smiled and said, "It's not much; it even favors you..."

Before the exorcist could finish his sentence, Diablo spoke, "What are the conditions?" He was in no mood to hear about the positivity of the contract from someone like the exorcist.

The exorcist maintained his smile but thought, "Does this brat not know not to interrupt when an elder is speaking? Was it really the right choice to give him such a favorable offer? Let's add an extra condition."

What Diablo didn't know was that his interruption had just increased the difficulty of the tasks he had to do.

"Alright, the conditions of the contract are: 1) You have to kill 1 million demons, 2) You have to kill the king of Hell, 3) You have to rescue 1 million humans from the demons. Generally, these were the original conditions, exorcist added an extra because Diablo interrupted him while I was speaking."

"4) You can only use one of your gifts after you complete all these tasks."

Generally, Diablo could use both of the gifts the exorcist was going to give him, but now because of the additional condition, he could only use one gift and the other after completing the tasks.

Listening to the conditions, Diablo almost felt like falling off a cliff again.

Kill 1 million demons? He didn't have the power to kill even one demon without using tricks. Previously, when he killed the commander of the angel army, most of his power came from the surrounding environment, and the commander himself was in a weakened state.

Kill the king of Hell, Lucifer? That monster? Even Archangel Michael feared him. What could an ordinary demon like him do?

Rescue 1 million humans? The first problem was that he was a demon, and the second problem was, where could he rescue humans from? In this world, humans and angels reigned supreme; they even used demons as their slaves.

At the fourth condition, Diablo almost felt like killing the exorcist. What could he do without the gift? Wouldn't he die before he could even use the gifts?

Diablo calmed his breath. What could he do without the exorcist's gift? Even though he had extreme will, could he live long enough to become stronger, or would he die before that?

He thought about his dying mother, to whom he had promised to become the most powerful.

Without further thinking, Diablo took the pen on the table and signed his name on the contract.

After signing the contract, the exorcist took the paper and put it inside his sleeve.

As the exorcist put the paper away, a green orb and an intangible-looking thing manifested in front of Diablo.

The exorcist spoke, "The green orb is compressed life essence; it will provide you with 500 years of life. The intangible-looking thing is the memory of a technique that can help you disguise your soul and body. Select one of the things. The other will be stored inside the contract space and will be given to you after you have completed the contract."

Diablo had already thought about what he wanted: the green orb. "What could he do with the disguise technique if he didn't even have the time to live on Earth, sorry, Hell?"

"You can ingest the orb to gain its vitality," the exorcist said with a somewhat disappointed tone.

He thought Diablo would take the disguise technique, which would help him infiltrate Hell properly.

Even now, he didn't realize that Diablo was a demon, not a human.

As Diablo ingested the orb, suddenly a massive fire-like sensation emerged in his stomach, then suddenly it cooled down and an extremely cold temperature emerged. This process continued in a loop, and Diablo felt massive pain.

After enduring for five minutes, Diablo couldn't take it and fell unconscious.

"This child has a massive will. Even the king or queen in Heaven or Hell couldn't take this pill without falling unconscious within a minute, and this child endured for an entire five minutes."

"Impressive, truly impressive," the exorcist commented.

Diablo, woke up after some time, when he woke up he noticed, he was no longer in a massive field of grass, he looked down noticing his hand was now red again, he was inside his body, out of the mind space

diablo looked around as, he looked around he was extremely surprised by what he saw, he was lying on top of massive hills of bone

Diablo thought "Am I still in mind place" but he spoke this thought aloud unconsciously

No, you are not in mind space, exorcist's voice echoed, in the trench, these are all the previous demons who came before you and died here you were really lucky that I entered your mind space before thinking of killing you or you would have died just like them

"Diablo was surprised, for once in conversation with the exorcist that could he really kill him, but after seeing his surroundings he was in no doubt that he was extremely lucky as he survived here"

"all right you can go now, you have been here for at least three days demon outside will get suspicious if you don't return soon"

after hearing the exorcist word's diablo started to climb the massive trench with his bare hand's
