Dark Secrets The Scrolls Hold, Part l

The sweet, metallic and slightly sour taste of blood stung Zayde like a bee the moment it went into his mouth. He felt oddly warm, considering the fact he collapsed on the cold tiles of the kitchen. He slowly opened his eyes, adapting to the amount of light that got into it.

The light that he so much hated and would love to eliminate out of existence, but no matter how much he hated it, Light and Darkness were two important bodies, just as time is. Light cannot do without darkness, as well as darkness without light.

"Master?"

He heard Ravena call, her tone laced with worry that he could even guess her facial expression without looking at her, her furrowed brows showing her displeasure and the pout she always made whenever he did things that he would call insane or stupid.

"I am fine," He mumbled making as attempt to sit up but she held his shoulder and dragged him back. It was then Zayde realized his head was on her peaks, pressing them with the weight of his head.

Ravena raised a tumbler to his lips and urged him to drink, He gazed up at her, scanning her skin for any marks but there was none. He sighed and gulped down everything in the glass, brushed his tongue along his lips and closed his eyes to wait for the effects.

Ravena dropped the tumbler and pushed her fingers into his hair, earning a low growl from him. "I prepared rice and grilled chicken with thick tomato sauce for you master."

Zayde frowned with his eyes closed, he opened his mouth to scold her but sighed, "Great."

"And you were holding a scroll, different from the one we got at the temple. I would like to know what it is about," She requested, trailing off at the last sentence, she kept her gaze away from him despite how much he raised his head to look at her.

Zayde mumbled something she could not hear and rose to his feets, he felt dizzy instantly and almost collapsed, but with Ravena's help he was able to balance properly.

She walked him out of the bedroom carefully, to avoid tripping over something and then as a result, injure him. She led him to the living room, where Ash was seated going through his phone. Zayde settled on the three sitter, slowly regaining his strength back.

"Bring the scrolls and anything that I can use to track a place, person or thing," He asked gazing up with soft eyes at her.

She felt her heart skip a beat with how soft his eyes became, which was extremely rare even the other never looked at her like that. The cold dead stare had vanished without any trace, but the longer she stared at them the more she felt her heart ache. Then she realized those eyes only told lies, she would never let herself fall for whatever his eyes spells out, unless he says it out.

With a short bow, she turned around and exited the living room, leaving Ash with Zayde.

He relaxed his eyes, letting it drop as they turned sleepy with a dark chilling aura emanating from him.

Ash who felt it turned to him with worry and tilted his head as he scanned Zayde from top to bottom. "That explains it," Ash uttered causing a glare from Zayde who seemed to be lost in thoughts till he spoke.

"What is it?" Zayde frowned, his tone oddly low and calm.

Ash sat up as he put down his phone, he rose from where he sat and plopped himself on the couch across from Zayde, now facing him with to get a perfect view. "Its fascinating how you absorbed that much from just one encounter. Can you do it again?"

Zayde raised his brow in confusion, seeing no meaning to what Ash was talking about, he tried to understand but his thoughts were always interrupted by the whispers. "Are you going to talk? Or stare at me like a blood meal."

Ash chuckled softly, "Believe me, if I needed blood I have a source and definitely not from my sister's lover," He winked at Zayde who cast a glare at him, "You met him, Lord Shadow the first, right?"

"I am him, this is his body right? So I am the first," Zayde said, his frustration and confusion growing by the second.

"In reality, Yes. But mentally, magically and technology wise, No. If I am correct you are the third," Ash paused and leaned back into the sofa, he slowly shut his eyes and crossed his arms. "Listen, When The system was given a host, The first Shadow Lord was born, but then he committed suicide when the power became too great that he lost his sanity."

"The system followed protocols it was not given so it would continue to function properly and then moved the soul into a Tenebrix, His son, Zayde, The second Shadow lord. He also gained more power than the first, since technology and magic started began existing as one. But then The Hyperion's new leader piqued interest in him and decided to bring him down at all cost. At the same time pleasure himself."

"Then that should be when you died, Having the same name, attributes, death kind and mind of the first, The system chose you the moment Zayde ignited himself from the inside. Although it had no serious effect on him, it temporarily shut his heart down, giving the system a chance to move your soul in."

Ash opened his eyes and gazed at Zayde who stared at him with so much focus then he smiled. "Now look at it this way," He paused, inhaled and exhaled before continuing. "You belong to a race of Tenebrix demons, and one that has been known to be a terror to the world. With similar psychopathic minds, thirst for blood and perverted thoughts, their memories are linked to yours, dead or alive."

"It is like and endless portal of memories from the first and second, You made no encounter with anyone that is why your reincarnation process had to be triggered. After you completed it, The memories broke free from the barrier keeping them at bay. The voices, the scroll, everything is real, and the Shadow Lords are trying to help you take revenge for them and yourself."

"You may not know why you have to take revenge for yourself, But with time you will. I am just the Shadow Lord's best friend, from generation to generation and believe me, I know alot more that you think."

Zayde blinked countless times, letting his mind process all what he has heard, he then smirked mockingly at Ash who replied with a frown. "Old man."

"I would not say that, I don't age but I have lived for many years, I froze myself when the first died, Thawed out before the second was captured," Ash answered with a proud smile and smiled when Ravena came in holding two almost similar scrolls.

She crouched down beside the glass table and opened them up one by one, placed paper clips on them to keep them open.

Ash's smile fell as well as Zayde's whose eyes darkened as the contents of the scroll come to view.

"It's like a puzzle," Ash uttered dragging his gaze to Zayde who looked like he would kill at any moment.

He turned to Ravena who looked traumatized, she wobbled backwards and landed on her bottom, still with shock written all over her face.

It called for a raise of alarm, Ash sprang out of his seat since he was the only one that had not been traumatized or dazed by the scrolls.

The aura both scrolls emitted did something to them, especially Ravena who trembled in his arms. The gem on her choker cracked with a flash, her crimson eyes had turned white completely. Zayde's horns poked out of his skull, slowly coming out from where they had been. His eyes turned silver, with a dark void in it.

They both had no idea of what was going on, like they where trapped in time immediately they set eyes on the scroll.

Ash took a closer look at what was written, "Forgotten, Hidden and Cursed Knowledge, By Zayde Rivers," He read the title on the Arcane Knowledge scroll out loud and then dragged his gaze to the title on the one the Shadow lord had given Zayde.

It was written in ancient symbols, similar to that if Egyptians and mouthed, "Hidden Relics, Hyperion's Lost City." He read through everything. Slowly understanding what must have put Ravena and Zayde in that state, he heaved sigh and left Ravena's side.

He removed the scrolls from the table and placed them on the ground, he made Zayde and Ravena lay down flat beside each other and closed their eyes.

He sat in a lotus position beside them, with the scroll before him.

"You both will pay me for using up my mana to heal you, and after that we start studying everything in these scrolls."
