Dumpling Soup

Jiang Fan, wearing protective goggles and earplugs, held a 95 pistol in his hand. He was somewhat tense; this was the first time he had touched a real gun.

If anyone were to say Jiang Fan was backward, no one in the world would dispute it.

Over a hundred shooting ranges across the country were open to the public, allowing ordinary people to experience real guns and bullets. There were also private places like Huang Xin's, which were only open to acquaintances.

Only the prices here were much higher than those of some places open to the public.

Moreover, the pistols here didn't have fixed chains, but taking the gun away from here was harder than ascending to heaven, as it required a change of clothes.

Jiang Fan, holding the gun nervously, aimed at the distant target and pulled the trigger for the first time.

He missed.

The recoil was strong, nothing like the feeling in the game. Jiang Fan continuously pulled the trigger in one breath, but none of the bullets hit the target. He changed the magazine and continued. The coach nearby was already agitated in his heart. He had seen many customers who came here to practice shooting.

There were quite a few who didn't care about money, but it was rare to see someone as poor as this.

After trying the 95, Jiang Fan switched to the 92, and then to the 22LR.

After six or seven magazines, Jiang Fan found that the 92 felt the best. Gradually, he stopped missing and, though not hitting the bullseye, at least he wasn't wandering at the edge.

With his somewhat sore arm, Jiang Fan unloaded the empty magazine, turned off the safety, took off his headphones, and smiled at the coach.

"I want to try the wild field."

The coach smiled and nodded. He guessed that this young man didn't know he had spent almost ten thousand yuan in just a while.

Of course! Jiang Fan definitely didn't know; otherwise, this miser might have committed suicide by swallowing his gun.

Stepping out of the room, Su Qing stood up, walked forward, and pinched Jiang Fan's arm with both hands, saying softly,

"How was it?"

Then, when she looked at the coach, there was no smile on her face. She frowned and asked,

"How many hits?"

The coach smiled and said,

"Thirty-three, six in the bullseye. It's very good for a first-time player."

Su Qing didn't speak and accompanied Jiang Fan to the wild field. Su Qing repeatedly suggested that Jiang Fan try the two new big guys, but Jiang Fan always smiled and shook his head, saying that the recoil of the MP5 was relatively small. Actually, he was worried about the money.

However, for Jiang Fan, this submachine gun... it could only be said that it wasn't suitable for him. He basically never hit the target, which was far from what Jiang Fan had imagined as hitting every shot.

When Jiang Fan was ready to pay, Huang Xin smiled and refused.

"Su and I are friends. Don't worry about the bullets this time, but I won't give you a discount next time, hahaha! Young man, take some time to recover after you go back."

Jiang Fan insisted on paying!

There were still two thousand yuan stuffed by Tang Wan in his wallet. He refused Huang Xin's kind reminder later, but was forcibly dragged away by Su Qing, who pinched his ears.

At this time, the coach brought the price list over.

Huang Xin took it and glanced at it. He was about to throw it away when he saw the name on it.

Jiang Fan?

Huang Xin suddenly smiled.

"Gang, did the Lin family mention this Jiang Fan when they came here a while ago? Oh, I remember Gao Lvxing also mentioned him many times when chatting with that little woman. It seems that he is a very interesting person. Prepare some external medicine and send it to Su Qing."

At this moment, Jiang Fan, who was shaking his arm in the car, didn't know that his name had spread in the upper circles, with both good and bad reputations.

Su Qing didn't hurry back. She took Jiang Fan to a dumpling restaurant.

Jiang Fan ate the dumplings like a wolf, while Su Qing didn't eat any. She held her chin with both hands and served Jiang Fan, saying softly,

"Jiang Fan, you have a lot of things in your heart, right? But you don't say them, or you don't know who to talk to. It's useless to talk to people who aren't close, and if you talk to close people, they will worry. Keeping it all in your heart is not good. You can tell me as if it's a story. Don't be too stubborn, too proud, or too hard on yourself. You bear all the burdens and responsibilities on your shoulders. This kind of life is too tiring. Actually, you haven't done anything wrong."

Jiang Fan, who was about to put the dumpling into his mouth, paused, then shook his head and continued to eat the dumplings heartily. Su Qing didn't feel uncomfortable. She picked up the dumpling soup, blew on it to cool it down, and was very patient. Jiang Fan sighed.

"I made a lot of mistakes. If my plan was a little more perfect, my mother's body might be healthier. If I had worked harder and persisted more at that time, Tang Wan wouldn't be like this now. If I..."

"There is no 'if'."

Su Qing interrupted Jiang Fan's words and brought the dumpling soup to him. Jiang Fan lifted his head and looked at Su Qing in confusion. Su Qing smiled gently, pouted at Jiang Fan, and continued,

"If you hadn't experienced so much, you wouldn't be like this now. You are proud, and you have your own tolerance. I have never regarded your tolerance towards me as good temper. Actually, I knew you were proud when you proposed divorce to Tang Wan just before your contract expired and voluntarily offered her compensation."

"I'm not proud. I just don't want to owe others. I don't have anything in my heart. I just don't like being calculated by others. Lin Xuan wants to buy my leg, Qian Ling's test, Gao Lvxing's attempt to win over Chen Yi today, Liu Shengge's attention, Li Dongsheng's resentment... These things are in my heart, and I can't help thinking about them. I don't want to implicate others. Do you think I'm very macho and full of bullshit?"

Su Qing smiled and brought the dumpling soup to Jiang Fan's mouth, saying,

"Yes, macho, traditional, with a cleanliness fetish, proud, a little resentful, and a bit of a miser. But aren't these what a man should have? Jiang Fan, you take responsibility too seriously. Actually, you can try to let go of some responsibilities."

"As a seven-foot man, I should stand upright and be unyielding. If I let go of my responsibilities, I might become a decadent person. Actually, my self-control is very poor, and it's responsibility that forces me."

"Including the fact that you think you can't marry Tang Wan, so even if she offers herself to you, you won't touch her and prefer to remain a virgin?"

"It's not something shameful. I won't think about what things were like before I touched them. But once I touch them, I hope they are mine, belonging to me alone. Can I say that?"

"You lack self-confidence."

"Self-confidence shouldn't be blind."

"That's sophistry."

"Your skirt is hiked up."

"I deliberately showed it to you."

"I'm lying. It's not hiked up."

Su Qing didn't get angry, which was unusual. She just kept holding the dumpling soup, waiting for Jiang Fan to take it.

She was not in a hurry, not urging, not angry, and not embarrassed.

Jiang Fan took the dumpling soup, lowered his head, and said softly,

"Thank you. Don't be too good to me. I might not appreciate it."

"It's okay. I know. Jiang Fan! Do you want me to help you get rid of your virginity?"

"How?"

Su Qing pointed to the pink-light hair salon opposite the dumpling restaurant. Jiang Fan finished the dumpling soup in one gulp and stood up, saying,

"Let's go home! You pay the bill."

"Okay, my great general Jiang."
