Chapter 2 - Shadow

Author's POV

"Please, don't do it" he pleaded to the man sitting right straight him at the chair sipping his whiskey with a glimmer of anger rushing through his veins, "I-I didn't-" he couldn't complete his sentence as he was kicked hard on the face by the men surrounding him.

The man sitting on chair who is said to be the boss finally got up from his seat and walked towards that man who was halfway dead "I'm not done yet!" He grabbed the knife from one of his man and stabbed the person who was pleading for mercy, so it was served, right in the heart a clean sharp stab. He deserved that, well at least that's what Blaze the the leader of "Black viper" gang thought. It was hurting him, hurting him so much to get betrayed by your father. It was his father who betrayed him, he had it coming.

Savannah's POV

YouHeal Hospital

It was end of the shift for everyone and the last day they're working in this hospital, it was an emotional moment for everyone specially my team, "I'll miss you" Araceli spoke up breaking the emotional silence, I wrapped my arms aroung her and patted it for assurance, "Don't overwork yourself"

- "Don't skip meals"

- "Take care of yourself"

- "We'll miss you"

- "So, in conclusion, take care of yourself everytime and be careful."

They all poured out their concerns in form of love. I was so glad to have them in my life, if it weren't for them I wouldn't be here smiling throughout my schedule, I won't lie I'll miss them too , "Wishing you guys a very good luck on your first day tomorrow, do well."

"Alright guys, I need to leave." Bidding my last goodbye, I headed to the person who just called for the reminder.

Quantum Quisine

Handing over my coat to an attendant, I paced to the rooftop table that Anastasia had booked for us. Yes, here I was in a restaurant rather than resting at home. I couldn't turn her down when she talked about the double date idea, she was here with her soon to be, and we're finally meeting her long term Fiancé, they had been engaged for over an year, of course it was in Italy and I couldn't made it there, didn't actually got a chance to meet, plus he leaves in France, so it was only because we couldn't meet him.

"Congratulations you both" I wished them as I finally got to know him a little, they were made for I could tell that easily, all the cheeky things they were doing were the sign of positiveness, aw they're really so adorable. "When is the wedding?" I questioned them, "Next month" and I was so shocked to hear this, how could she do this to me? "And you're telling me now?" a sense if annoyance rushed over me, it was actually irritating to me, like we've been so close to each other all the time and the important wasn't even informed to me,like how? "Sorry honey" sensing my anger Anastasia pulled my hands into her and sqeezed it lightly, for me to let go of anger she used her puppy eyes that she knew always worked, so it did this time too, I got smitten by her .

"By the way, where's theo?" Noah, Ana's Fiancé mentioned as he saw no sign of him for a long, "Restroom" I letted him know where he is, "I hope he still remembers me" Ana mentioned her concern about herself "He has a sharp memory" I reassured her with a smile.

As we were chit chatting someone called my name and I turned around and looked to meer a familiar yet unfamiliar face, "Remember me?" I was so confused as to where I've seen him "umm..." I couldn't really figure out who he is "We met at the seminar? Remember?" And my mind finally clicked "Ah yeah I remember now" I further added "How are you? He replied "Good" with a smile that was kind of off to me, "Um Savannah...um...can I get your number?" He hesitatedly asked as Ana gave me a flirtious smile, "How dare you!!!!" Um it wasn't me who exclaimed that but theo's who was standing right behind him.

"How dare you ask her out!" He again roared at him "I didn't asked her out-" he couldn't finish his words "Same thing, you were about to get her number and you probably would have asked her out if I didn't came right on time, Aron had a glimpse of anger on his face that I was sure of.

"So what? Who are you to interfere!?" He sneered calmly and I as I was about to protest, Theo cutted me off "I'm her partner" shocked, yeah that's what everyone there was, including Anastasia who knew everything about what's going but this statement definitely made her shocked too.

"What??? How could you be?" Anger soon was vanished replaced by confusion he questioned my boy, my little boy, my child, my baby. Yeah, the person who was talking like an adult is my son Theodore, a 7 years child, who doesn't like men like him at all. He hates them to the core and he's so possesive about me that his inner beast comes out everytime he feels something's wrong.

"Theo baby enough, come sit with me" I asked him to stop in a sweet way and he did as I told him and sat beside me and Aron was still standing there, in same position looking at us with the confusion still written on face, "What are you still doing there?" Theo again pointed out at him "Go away from here" he added, he's literally too straight forward "Sava-" I cutted him between "You heard him" no discussing further I told him off and he seemed to take my word and walked away out of the restaurant.

"Woww little gentleman, you're sucha baddass" Noah praised Theo but used some adult words to which he got kicked in the legs by Ana. And the talk goes on.

Savannnah's House

"What are you drawing?" I asked as I entered Theo's room, he was laying on his stomach on the floor seemed to draw something, "Superhero" he answered my question, he loved doing drawings and painting since he was even smaller than now, "Okay" I watched as he drew that and minutes passed just like that, "Mama I'm hungry" he spoke up, "Give mumma some minutes, I'll cook us something" and out of nowhere he "I love you mamma" he wrapped his small arms around my belly and gave a hug "I love you too baby". He's such a precious to me.

It was 3 in the morning when my phone rang, it was from the hospital so I had to pick it up, "Hello" I spoke with hoarse voice, "Ms. Miller" it was the directors voice "Mr. Maxwell" there was a silence for a few seconds and then "Yes, I want you to come at the hospital immediately" and he hung up, just like that leaving me confused.

YouHeal Hospital

"Finally you're here" director came to me as soon as I entered the 3rd floor of the hospital "What's the emergency" I asked "I've got you a case" he answered "And he's someone important" he added "So you've to put your everything to save him, no matter how complicate his condition is, you've to save him at all cost, you can't let him die." He continued "I'm counting on you this time, your the best heart surgeon in the world, I know you'll do your best" he completed, leaving me with so many questions that I know isn't the right time to ask, so I followed him behind to the patient. I wonder who that important person is.
