Author's POV
Suddenly, the sound of a low, rumbling engine grows louder, cutting through the wood forest's silence. A black, armored SUV pulls up outside, its headlights casting long shadows as it halts. The vehicle's doors swing open, and out step a group of sharply dressed men, each wearing dark suits and sunglasses, despite the lack of sunlight. They move with purpose and a sense of controlled aggression.
The leader, a figure with a commanding presence, steps out first. His expression is calm but fierce, betraying no hint of nervousness who not if Blaze. He adjusts his tie and glances around with an air of authority. His entourage follows suit, each member carrying the tools of their trade: brass knuckles, pistols, and other implements of intimidation. They wear expressions of grim determination, each man a testament to the seriousness of their mission.
When Blaze looked around, it was a forest cloaked in a deep darkness, and he thought, "She's here." The trees stand like silent sentinels, their gnarled branches reaching out in twisted forms. The canopy above is so dense that it swallows the moonlight, casting the forest floor into an impenetrable darkness. The only illumination comes from the faint, ghostly glow of distant stars peeking through the thick foliage. The air is cool and heavy, filled with the earthy scent of damp soil and decaying leaves.
A gentle breeze rustles the leaves, creating a soft, whispering sound that seems almost like murmured secrets carried through the darkness. Every so often, a more insistent gust causes the branches to sway, creaking and groaning in protest. The forest is alive with the nocturnal sounds of nature. In this dark forest, every sound is amplified, and every shadow seems to hold a mystery. The night transforms the familiar landscape into a realm of foreboding and intrigue, where the boundary between reality and imagination blurs, and the forest itself feels like an ancient, watchful entity.
"Search the entire place!" In response to the Boss's command, all the desperados went in all the directions, and Blaze stood looking at the forest, "Someone is fucking messing!" somehow Blaze knew Savannah hadn't driven here on her own, rather she came here by force .
Once Savannah had told him how scared she was of dark deep forests, Blaze knew she wouldn't do that. This does not make sense. His mind was going in a negative direction, but he had hope that she'd be okay until he got to her, if anything happened to her, he couldn't bear to live.
In the midst of all his thoughts, one of his guys came running to him. "Boss" Blaze looked at him. "We've found an abandoned car," he informed his boss who's face lit up a bit by the news. "And Savannah," the guy shook his head as if to say no, so Blaze walked forward to the spot where the vehicle was found.
A look at this car showed that it was in good condition to get abandoned like this until the man had an ulterior motive! "Got anything?" Blaze questioned his men specifically to Elijah, who was looking inside the car. "We're finding it Boss." Arthur said while he was also in the car checking the front seat. Then after searching for another 10 minutes, Elijah announced, "I've got something " he got out with the mobile phone in hand.
"Found a phone tackled inside the seat" Elijah said as he handed over the phone to Blaze "That's Savannah's phone." he whispered to himself as he checked the phone, seeking for any clues that he could get from it, but there were no clues except a few texts and calls from the same person called 'Ana'. "Anything else?" Blaze again asked. Arthur then got out with a piece of paper "These papers" and handed them to his Boss.
"It appears that it belongs to someone called, Oliver Wilson," Arthur informed his Boss as Blaze read all the contents of the papers. "Who could this be?" Blaze mumbled to himself. "Do you know this person, Boss?" Arthur questioned his Boss, "Maybe, Ms. Miller had it ever mentioned this name to you?" Blaze looked up at his secretary and replied, "I don't know him." Blaze replied in a stern tone to his secretary.
"Boss, there's nothing else inside" one of his men informed his Blaze who stood by his car looking depressed but their men did not know this, either, because Blaze did not show any evidence of that or they were blind to notice. But his secretary Arthur did, knowing how hard Blaze was trying to remain strong, but he cannot hide his emotions from him at this time,
His Noss had been in situations like these many times, but he wasn't the kind of man who really cared or even put in the effort or felt emotions for them. But right now it was different. They still did not find her after two hours of searching, and it seemed as if she had vanished from this place. Blaze was feeling torn inside about what to do next, but he had to do something, and he needed to remain calm and strong for it to work.
"Search again, we're missing something." and they again desperately searched in search of that single thing, that single clue that could led them to Savannnah, lef their Boss to Savannnah because Blaze is an intelligent man, and he knew how stupid this man was to live behind those evidences, a skilled man would never commit such a foolish mistake.
"We found this tire screeching sign, here," Blazes' ears echo with a positive tidbit after an hour of searching. Arhtur informed his boss by showing him the exact sign of it through the flashlights since it was too dark to see anything, and Blaze bent down to examine it more closely. "It's not the same as that car" he noticed and got up after examining them "Let's hurry" and they all followed the sign leading to the Savannah, hoping to find her.
Abandoned House
While sitting at the dinner table, Oliver spoke over the phone with someone "Alright, baby, I gotta go, I have an important meeting tomorrow, so I've got to get up early." He was all smiley as he talked everything, not even feeling guilty for kidnapping someone, "Good Night" and hung up and began eating the food on the table, "I think we should have ordered takeout." He started digging the food with his partner.
"This is bad" the other guy complained about the food, "Just eat it or starve yourself" Oliver sneered at him and the man ate. Despite the woman still lying uncomfortably in the other room without food and water, the other guy complained that the food was terrible. Oliver got up before finishing the meal, thinking something "I'll be back," while walking down the corridor and stopping at the door, taking the key from his pants pocket and unlocking it, he entered.
"She's still unconscious" he walked towards her, "Get up" he harshly tried to wake her up "Get the fuck up, I don't have time" He gripped her mouth harshly and was about to slap her face when he slit! "Ahhhhhh!!!!" Without wasting her time, Savannah took the keys from his grasp and ran toward the door to leave immediately.
As Oliver cried in pain, he did not know what happened or how it happened because it happened so quickly, so Savannah had stabbed him on the thighs with a knife that he couldn't dodge, and this was the outcome. As he saw Savannah run, he got up and followed her with all his might.
Savannah's POV
In my quest for survival, I had the idea to sneak a knife into my skirt pocket, just in case I faced danger, and it worked, so I had done it, and now I just had to leave this place.
As I ran down the corridor, I locked the door and trapped him inside. Looked around the place so I knew where the main entrance to this place was. Running I got there, but it was also locked, and I had a key chain with five keys on it. I knew I didn't have much time, so I tried them one at a time at the faster rate I could.
A roaring voice echoed the room as I was placing the fourth key, "Savannah." I became anxious that he might come any moment, and then click! and this fourth key worked. I opened the door wide and locked it behind me but, what is this place?
A deserted forest under the cloak of nighta deep forest enveloped in the embrace of night. The trees, tall and ancient, stretch their gnarled limbs skyward, forming a dense, impenetrable canopy that swallows the light. The darkness here is profound, interrupted only by occasional shafts of moonlight that penetrate through the thick foliage, casting ghostly beams that barely touch the forest floor.
The undergrowth is a tangled mass of brambles, ferns, and creeping vines, their silhouettes barely distinguishable in the murky gloom. The air is heavy with the mingling scents of damp earth, decaying wood, and the faint, sweet aroma of night-blooming flowers. The ground is uneven, covered with a carpet of fallen leaves, moss, and the occasional hidden root that could trip an unwary traveler.
When I heard the footsteps approaching the door without thinking I ran in the woods, I heard footsteps inside and had to do whatever I could to protect myself from him, at least I would not regret it later.
As I ran the only sounds I could hear are the subtle rustlings of unseen creatures, the occasional snap of a twig, and the distant, haunting calls of nocturnal animals. The silence is almost oppressive, a thick blanket that muffles all but the faintest noises. Every now and then, the wind weaves through the trees, causing the branches to creak and sway, creating a symphony of eerie, echoing whispers. And on top of it didnr know where am i going? Am i ever gonna reach home? Or die?
"Savannah" a voice in the distance brought me out of my thoughts, it was Oliver's voice. I couldn't believe how he had come out so quickly? I ran faster in order to avoid his reach. With so many tall trees surrounding me, I was afraid to move further, but I ran anyway, thinking that I would rather die from anyone else's hands than this man's "Ahh!!Ouch!!" I fell to the ground.
When something caught in my left leg, I looked back at my leg "Metal trap" my leg was trapped in a bear trap which had two jagged, semi-circular jaws that closed together when triggered itt get's you trapped and it got triggered by my leg, I accidentally stepped on it, blood gushed out of my legs and I attempted to get it off before Oliver reaches here, covering my mouth with a piece of cloth from my skirt so I couldn't scream and attract attention and tried harder to get it off.
"Ahhhh!!" It took me five minutes to free my legs, which were now in very bad shape and the blood was still flowing out. "Damn it!" I was frustrated, wondering how I was going to walk, looking here and there in hope there would be something, but there was nothing just a desolate landscape filled with dark and woods.
"Savannah!!!" In the distance I heard my name again, and I tried to get up, but failed. I couldn't walk! No I couldn't let this happen now. I took the same skirt cloth and tied my wounded legs so no more blood would come off.
After trying with all my might to get up, I succeeded and started running. I had no time to walk as the voice was closer than before, so I had to get to the high if there was one. Working as a doctor taught me one thing: you won't feel pain if you are unaware that you are injured. As my mind was filled with several other thoughts, I forgot about my legs and ran as quickly as I had before, feeling nothing, I just wanted to get out of here.
For 20 minutes, I was running through a forest and it felt like it would never end. The more I walked, the deeper it became, as though I was running into a loop, a forest that would never end. I heard a voice behind me saying, "There you are brat." I glanced back still running, and it was Oliver with another guy?
That man got to me so fast? I ran faster, I would not be caught again, I wouldn't, "Wait until I get my hands on you" he said and I became more afraid of if's! I ran, ran, ran, and the forest grew deeper and deeper until I lost the battle.
Perhaps, I was meant to die tonight? I looked back and Oliver was ten steps behind me and everything became blurry to me, I looked ahead of me still running with blurry vision suddenly, thud!
