The next morning, Savannah woke up to birds chirping and sunlight pouring through the curtains of their villa. She stretched lazily and turned to see Blaze already awake, propped up against the headboard with a book in his hands. His messy hair and relaxed look made her heart skip a beat.
"Morning, Mrs. Baldwin." he said, his voice deep and soft.
"Morning." she mumbled, snuggling closer to him. "What are you reading?"
"Just something I found on the shelf here. But more importantly, what's on your mind? You've got that look." he teased, poking the tip of her nose.
Savannah grinned mischievously. "Hey, what do you think about going on a little adventure today?"
Blaze raised an eyebrow, curious. "What kind of adventure?"
"Hiking." she said, her voice full of excitement. "I read about this trail that leads to an amazing view of New Zealand. They say it's breathtaking!"
Blaze chuckled, setting his book aside. "You're determined to keep us moving, aren't you?"
"Always." she replied with a playful wink.
After a quick breakfast, they grabbed a small backpack with water, snacks, and sunscreen then headed out. The trail started in a cozy village and snaked up the cliffs of New Zealand. Wildflowers lined the path, and you could catch glimpses of the sparkling sea below.
Blaze held Savannah's hand as they stepped onto the trailhead, a narrow dirt path snaking up the cliffs. The early morning sunlight turned everything golden, and a gentle breeze carried the smell of salt from the sea.
"Wow, this is amazing." Savannah said, her voice full of wonder. "It's like walking through a postcard."
Blaze smiled, watching her take it all in. "You're more beautiful than the view, Ana."
She laughed and her cheeks turned pink. "You're so full of it, Mr. Baldwin."
As they climbed higher, the trail got rougher, lined with wildflowers swaying in the breeze. Savannah stopped every few steps to take pictures—some of the scenery and some of Blaze.
Savannah took the lead, her excitement rubbing off on him. She'd stop now and then to point out a stunning view or snap a picture of them together. Blaze followed close behind, keeping an eye on her as she made her way over the rocky path.
"Careful, Ana." he said as she stepped onto a narrow ledge.
She turned to him with a grin. "You worry too much, Mr. Baldwin."
"I have every right to." he replied, his tone teasing but affectionate.
Halfway up the trail, they found a small clearing with a bench looking out over the sea. Savannah flopped down, took a sip of water, and sighed contentedly.
"This is already worth it." she said, her eyes scanning the horizon.
Blaze sat next to her, but he was looking at her rather than the view. "Yeah, it is," he agreed, though it was clear he wasn't talking about the scenery.
They kept going, the path getting steeper but the views getting even better. When they finally made it to the top, Savannah gasped at what she saw. New Zealand stretched out below them in all its beauty—the sea shimmered under the midday sun, and the famous white buildings dotted the cliffs.
"This is... magical!" Savannah whispered, her voice filled with awe.
Blaze stood behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist and resting his chin on her shoulder.
"Not as magical as you." he said softly.
She turned in his arms, her eyes brimming with emotion. "You're going to make me cry again," she said with a laugh.
"Good. Happy tears suit you," Blaze replied, brushing his lips against her forehead.
They continued their ascent, the climb growing steeper and their laughter echoing against the cliffs. At one point, Savannah spotted a small tree growing out of the rocks, its twisted branches defying the odds.
"Look at that," she said, pausing to admire it. "It's beautiful in its own way, isn't it? Resilient."
Blaze nodded, his gaze thoughtful. "Like you."
Savannah turned to him, her eyes soft. "You always know what to say."
"Turn around, Ana." Savannah said, holding up her phone.
Blaze sighed playfully but obliged, leaning against a large rock with the sea stretching out behind him.
"Perfect!" she said, capturing the shot.
"You know I'm not the photogenic one here," Blaze teased, pulling her close for a selfie.
"You're perfect in every photo." Savannah replied, kissing his cheek just as the shutter clicked.
By the time they reached the top, the sun was already high, shining on the blue waters of the sea below. The view was amazing—a full circle of New Zealand's wild beauty.
"This," Savannah said, her voice shaking with emotion, "Is why I wanted to come here. To share this with you."
Blaze pulled her close, his arms wrapping around her. "I'm glad you did. Moments like these, with you, are what I'll remember forever."
They sat on a flat rock, their legs hanging over the edge, munching on the snacks they'd brought along. Savannah fed Blaze a piece of orange, giggling when he playfully nipped at her fingers.
"You're amazing," she said, shaking her head.
Blaze kissed the top of her head. "Every moment with you is like a new adventure, Ana. I want to keep discovering more about you every day."
As they began their walk down, the path felt easier, their chat flowing naturally. Savannah challenged Blaze to a race on a smoother part of the trail.
"Race you to the bottom!" she said.
"Are you sure about that?" Blaze asked, grinning mischievously.
"Absolutely," she replied, dashing off before he could answer.
Blaze let her get ahead for a bit before catching up easily. They both laughed, breathing hard, as they reached the bottom.
By the time they got back to their villa, they were tired but thrilled, feeling closer after their adventure together. Savannah flopped onto the couch, her cheeks flushed and her heart full.
"What's next on your list, Mrs. Baldwin?" Blaze asked, leaning against the doorway with a smirk. Savannah grinned, her eyes sparkling. "You'll just have to wait and see."
Next morning
The next day, Savannah woke up to see a note on her bedside table, written in Blaze's familiar, bold handwriting:
"Good morning, Mrs. Baldwin. Dress for a day at sea. Something light and comfortable. Be ready by 10 a.m." - Yours, Blaze.
Savannah got excited and quickly got ready, slipping into a white sundress and putting on a wide-brimmed hat and sandals. She wondered what Blaze had planned as she went down the stairs and heard soft music playing in the villa.
Blaze was waiting by the front door, dressed casually in a linen shirt and tailored shorts, with his aviator sunglasses on. He looked really good, and Savannah's heart skipped a beat when she saw him.
"You look stunning." he said with a warm smile.
"And you look... relaxed," she teased, giving him an appraising look.
Blaze chuckled, taking her hand. "Come on. Your chariot awaits."
Outside, a shiny black car was ready to take them away. As they drove toward the port, Savannah got more and more excited. When they got there, she couldn't believe her eyes—there was a fancy private yacht waiting for them.
"Blaze, this is amazing," she said, her eyes wide as she looked at him.
"Only the best for my wife," he said, offering her his hand as they stepped on board.
The crew welcomed them warmly and then left them alone. The yacht sailed smoothly over the clear blue waters of the Sea, the sea breeze playing with Savannah's hair. She leaned against the railing, holding onto the smooth wood, taking in the vast ocean.
"This feels like a dream." she murmured.
Blaze came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. "It's real, Ana. Just like us."
The yacht dropped anchor near a quiet cove, the water looking like glass under the midday sun.
Blaze took Savannah up to the deck where a table was set with a fancy spread of seafood, fresh fruit, and cold champagne.
"Did you plan all this?" Savannah asked, her voice full of wonder.
"Of course." Blaze said, pulling out her chair. "I wanted today to be perfect."
As they ate, they chatted away, laughing and sharing sweet looks. Savannah couldn't help but think how easily Blaze mixed his strong personality with making her feel special.
After lunch, they relaxed on the deck. Savannah rested her head on Blaze's chest as they soaked up some sun. The gentle rocking of the boat put them both at ease, and they fell into a comfortable silence, feeling close even without talking.
As the sun started to go in the middle, the yacht's captain found a great spot for them to watch the horizon. Blaze gave Savannah a glass of champagne and tapped it lightly against hers.
"To us." he said, his voice soft and intimate.
"To us." Savannah repeated, her eyes glistening.
The yacht finally dropped anchor near a hidden cove surrounded by steep cliffs and lots of greenery. The water was super clear, showing schools of fish swimming around under the surface. Savannah leaned over the side of the yacht, completely fascinated.
"It's like looking into another world." she murmured.
Blaze showed up next to her with some snorkeling masks and fins. "Want to check it out up close?"
Savannah hesitated, looking at the gear and then at the water. "I've never gone snorkeling before."
Blaze put a comforting hand on her back. "There's a first time for everything. Don't worry—I'll be right there with you the whole time."
His confidence rubbed off on her, and Savannah found herself agreeing. They changed into their swimsuits and followed Blaze down the ladder into the water. The cool water felt great, and soon they were floating through the shallows.
Underwater, Savannah was amazed. Bright coral formations made a colorful background for the fish swimming all around them. Blaze reached for her hand, squeezing it gently as he pointed out a sea turtle gracefully swimming past.
When they resurfaced, Savannah was beaming. "That was amazing!"
Blaze pushed his wet hair back, his eyes never leaving her. "You were amazing."
The sunset painted the sky in hues of orange, pink, and purple, casting a golden glow over the couple. Blaze pulled Savannah close, his hand resting on her cheek as he kissed her deeply.
"I love you, Ana." he whispered.
"I love you, Blaze." she answered, her voice gentle but strong.
"Every day with you is perfect," Blaze said, giving her a kiss on the forehead.
The yacht glided smoothly through the calm waves, its polished deck shining. Savannah couldn't help but marvel at how beautiful everything looked around her. The sea was a stunning shade of cobalt blue, stretching endlessly until it met the sky at a horizon that seemed almost too perfect to be real.
Next to her, Blaze stood with one hand resting casually on the railing and the other holding hers. He kept glancing between her and the sea, though it was pretty obvious where his attention was really focused.
"I can't believe this." Savannah said, her voice full of wonder. "It's like something out of a romance novel."
Blaze chuckled softly, his deep voice mingling with the gentle sound of the waves. "If it is, then you're the heroine who's stolen the hero's heart."
Savannah nudged him playfully with her shoulder. "You're getting better at this sweet-talking stuff, Blaze."
"I've had a great muse." Blaze replied with a grin.
After sometime, back on deck, the crew set up an impressive spread for dinner. There was a white linen tablecloth flapping in the breeze, and plates piled high with freshly grilled seafood, bright salads, and tropical fruits. A bottle of chilled champagne sat in an ice bucket, with beads of water sparkling in the sun.
Savannah's eyes widened. "This is incredible, Blaze."
Blaze pulled out her chair and waited until she was seated before sitting down himself. "I wanted to make today unforgettable. For us."
As they ate, their conversation came easily. They shared stories, dreams, and laughed quietly together. Savannah felt a strong connection with Blaze, like the sea mirrored the depth of their bond.
At one point, Savannah wiped her lips with a napkin and said, "You know, you're full of surprises, Mr. Baldwin." First snorkeling, now this feast. What else are you hiding?"
Blaze leaned in, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "If I told you, it wouldn't be a surprise."
After a bit, Blaze grabbed a small Bluetooth speaker he had stashed nearby. He tapped a few times on his phone, and soft, romantic music started playing. The tunes mixed nicely with the sound of the waves hitting the yacht.
"Dance with me, Ana." he said, standing up and holding out his hand.
Savannah looked up, surprised. "Here? Now?"
"Why not?" Blaze asked, giving her that grin of his.
She couldn't say no to him. She stood up and put her hand in his. He pulled her close, and they started swaying to the music with their bare feet sliding over the smooth deck. The stars above seemed to dance along, and Savannah rested her head on Blaze's chest, listening to his heartbeat.
"This is perfect," she whispered.
"You're perfect," Blaze replied softly, his breath in her hair.
After their spontaneous dance, they went back to the cushions. Savannah snuggled up to Blaze as soft music played in the background. She looked up at the dark sky, her fingers playing with the wedding ring on her finger.
"I still can't believe this is real," she said. "This life, this love, you."
As the night went on, Blaze took Savannah to the front of the yacht. They lay down on some comfy loungers, the moon warming their skin while the gentle rocking of the boat made them feel relaxed.
Savannah laid her head on Blaze's shoulder, her fingers drawing lazy circles on his arm. "One day, I'll tell our kids about this." she whispered.
Blaze's face changed for the first time since their honeymoon started. He turned his head and kissed the top of hers. "And I'll make sure they know their mom planned the best adventures."
As the night went darker Blaze stood behind Savannah, wrapping his arms around her waist as they took it all in. The warmth of his hug made her feel like she could stay there forever.
"This is my favorite time of day," she said quietly.
"Me too," Blaze replied, his voice soft and full of feeling.
When the first star popped up, Blaze turned Savannah to face him. He held her face in his hands, his thumbs gently touching her cheeks as he looked into her eyes.
"I don't need sunsets or yachts or anything else to feel this way," he said. "Just you."
Savannah's heart swelled, her voice barely above a whisper. "I only need you."
Blaze kissed her forehead. "You'll always be safe with me. Always loved. I'll spend every day of my life making sure you know that."
Hours went by, and Savannah felt a peace she had never felt before. Lying in Blaze's arms, looking up at the stars, she realized these were the kind of moments people dream about—and she was living hers.
"Promise me one thing." she said softly, her voice almost lost to the night.
"Anything," Blaze replied, his voice steady.
"Let's always find time for nights like this. Just us, the stars, and nothing else," she said.
Blaze tightened his hold on her. "I promise."
He leaned in and kissed her softly, their lips meeting gently. A cool breeze from the water rustled her hair, and the yacht swayed with her heartbeat. The sea whispered around them, slow and tender, as stars started popping up in the night sky.
