Chapter 129 - She's Missing.

Herbert Medical And Technology

Blaze finished scanning through the papers Arthur had produced for him but kept losing concentration throughout the conversation. He could not help it. His mind would keep straying to Savannah, to the unease that kept bothering him in regards to her phone being turned off.

Finally, Blaze pushed his chair back and stood abruptly, worry and determination mixed in his features. "Arthur," he said, his voice firm but laced with tension. "Call the hospital. Ask for Savannah. I need to know where she is."

Arthur nodded without a second thought, understanding the tension in his boss's voice. "Right away, Boss." He was out of the office in seconds, leaving Blaze alone with his restless thoughts.

The minutes dragged, feeling like hours. Blaze was pacing in the room, fists clenched and unclenched as different scenarios played out in his head. He thought of Savannah's missed call, her phone off, and vague explanations that just didn't add up. Not knowing where she was was crushing.

Ten minutes passed, and Arthur returned, his face cautious. "Boss, I spoke with the receptionist at the hospital. She said. maybe she's in the operating room."

Blaze's jaw clenched tightly. His frustration was writ large across his face. "Maybe?" he repeated, his tone sharp. "What the fuck is that answer? They should know exactly where she is. Who hired these incompetent people? They shouldn't be under my payroll. Take care of them."

Arthur gulped hard and nodded.

"Understood, Boss. I'll handle it."

Blaze exhaled, his hands gripping the edge of desk. His worry was mounting, and he couldn't afford to leave things unresolved. "Arthur, get me the contact information for someone named Bella. She's a close friend of Savannah's and was with her earlier. Find her and ask where Savannah is."

Arthur nodded once more and promptly left the office to do as requested. Blaze sat back down again, fidgeting with his fingers on his highly polished desktop. His mind didn't want to make such assumptions, but somehow everything felt off.

A few minutes later, Arthur returned, looking a little uncertain. "Boss, I've just spoken with Bella. She said, Savannah went home because she wasn't feeling very well."

Blaze's eyes darkened, concern now mixed with fear. He snatched his phone and dialed Elijah, the trusted head of security stationed at his home. The line rang twice before Elijah answered.

"Is Savannah home?" Blaze asked immediately, his voice sharp and urgent.

"No, boss. She's not," came Elijah's reply, the certainty in his tone sending a chill down Blaze's spine.

"Are you sure?" Blaze demanded, low but dangerous in his tone of voice.

"Yes, Boss," Elijah confirmed. "I have been here all along. She hasn't been here."

Blaze didn't say anything to him. The call ended immediately, and he quickly got up and walked out with deliberate speed, his face torn apart by feelings of worry and anger and that sense of overwhelming urgency.

Arthur, he thought something was wrong badly, hesitated before speaking. "Boss, is everything okay?"

Not responding, Blaze stormed out of his office, his long strides echoing down the marble corridor. Arthur followed close behind, his owrancern growing as he struggled to keep up.

"Cancel all my appointments for the day," Blaze said over his shoulder, his voice cold and commanding. "And have the car brought around immediately."

"On it." Arthur said, taking out his phone to pass on the instructions as he followed his boss. Something was wrong, and both men knew it. Blaze's haste wasn't just because Savannah couldn't be reached-it was because he felt a growing sense that she was in trouble.

Blaze's thoughts were racing as he strode toward the elevator, already figuring out his next move. Savannah needed him, and he would not rest until he found her.

Blaze strode into the elevator, clenching his jaw and spinning his mind with ideas. His set face reflected off the highly polished chrome walls as he punched the button for the ground floor. Arthur stepped in behind him, phone clamped to his ear as he coordinated Blaze's car to be brought to the front of the building.

Blaze didn't utter a word, his attention completely on his next move. As soon as the elevator doors opened, he strode across the lobby, his presence commanding attention from employees and visitors alike. The security team stationed near the entrance instinctively straightened as he passed.

Arthur hurried to keep pace. "The car is ready, Boss. It's waiting outside."

"Call Elijah back. I want the security footage from the house reviewed. I need to confirm Savannah didn't come home at all."

Arthur nodded, dialling Elijah as they stepped out of the building. A sleek black SUV was already waiting by the curb, the driver holding open the door. Blaze slid into the back seat, his mind racing as Arthur relayed instructions to Elijah.

Inside, Blaze pulled out his phone once more. He needed to decipher Savannah's movements. Bella said she had been feeling poorly and was going home, but Elijah assured him that she never made it there. Something was fishy.

"Arthur," Blaze said pointedly as the car pulled away from the curb, "did Bella say anything else about where Savannah went?"

"No, Boss," Arthur replied finishing his call to Elijah. "She said for sure Savannah mentioned getting home. I asked if there was a problem, and she seemed concerned, but never said anything specific."

Blaze stormed into the hospital he owned, tension evident in his stride. His presence alone commanded respect, but the fury in his expression made every staff member lower their gaze and focus intently on their tasks. Whispers hushed as he passed, replaced by the sound of hurried footsteps and the clicking of keyboards.

Arthur kept pace with his own brisk step, trying his best to stay abreast of his boss. Blaze swiped his employee card and, stepping into the elevator, punched the button for Savannah's floor. His jaw clenched into a hard line as each second seemed like an eternity while the elevator began its ascent.

When the doors slid open, Blaze stepped purposefully down the corridor, his sharp eyes scanning the floor. He approached Savannah's cabin and pushed open the door only to find her cabin empty. The chair was tucked neatly under the desk and there was no sign of her presence in the room.

"Savannah?" he called out in his deep voice, but no answer came.

He strode back out into the corridor, running his hand through his hair as anger and concern flowed inside him. Arthur stood outside the door of that particular office, attentive to his leader's every detail. Before he could utter anything further, the boss turned and directed a decree that left little room for questioning.

" Get Bella, now!"

Arthur nodded and ran down the corridor to find Bella, leaving Blaze pacing the hallway. With every step he took, a growing sense of dread was building in his mind, scenarios he didn't want to entertain but couldn't suppress.

Ten minutes later, Arthur returned with Bella trailing nervously behind him. Her usually bright demeanor was replaced with apprehension as she took in Blaze's expression. His anger was a storm barely contained, and his piercing eyes bore into her as soon as she approached.

"Where's Savannah?" Blaze asked, his voice icy and controlled but carrying a dangerous edge that sent a chill down Bella's spine.

Meanwhile

The captor leaned back on the worn-out couch in the dimly lit living room, the faint scent of cigarette smoke lingering in the air. A single bulb flickered above, casting erratic shadows across the peeling wallpaper. He held a phone to his ear, his lips curling into a twisted smile as he spoke, his voice laced with malice.

"She's all locked up," he said, with a cruel laugh punctuating the words. "Can you imagine the look on Blaze's face when he realizes his precious wife is at my mercy? It's almost poetic."

On the other end of the line, the deep voice of his accomplice came through, laced with amusement.

"You're really going all in on this, huh? Gotta say, you've got guts messing with a man like Blaze Baldwin."
