Hours passed, and Alexander found himself on the first-floor balcony, nursing a glass of wine as the warmth of the nearby fireplace flickered against the night. He glanced at his wristwatch for what felt like the hundredth time and sighed. It was already past nine, and Rain still hadn't returned.
"Brother, why are you out here drinking alone?" William's voice broke the silence as he joined him, taking a seat beside him. Sanya was close behind, cheerfully announcing, "Let me grab some snacks."
Alexander didn't respond immediately, his thoughts still elsewhere. He watched as Sanya returned with a tray of snacks, a fresh bottle of wine, and extra glasses. She poured drinks for herself and William before sitting down.
"So, what's keeping you out here?" William pressed. "You could've called me to join you."
"I couldn't sleep," Alexander said simply, his tone flat but betraying the faintest hint of restlessness.
