Alexander stared at the ceiling, his thoughts a chaotic mix of desire and restraint. Sharing a bed with Rain was becoming increasingly challenging, especially with how effortlessly she drew his attention.
Last night, he'd struggled just the same, ultimately waiting for her to fall asleep before sneaking back in to hold her. It had been his small reprieve, her warmth soothing his inner turmoil.
But tonight, things were different.
"Are you already sleeping?" Rain's soft voice broke through the silence.
"Not yet," he replied, his tone low as he tried to keep his emotions in check.
She shifted closer, and he felt her warmth radiate against him. His body stiffened involuntarily as she nudged closer, her presence dismantling the walls he had so carefully built. Turning to face her, he saw her smile… a gentle, inviting curve that tugged at something deep within him.
