Please Enlighten Me

Claudia didn't care that she had disappointed her daughters; she was more concerned that she would no longer be able to obtain money from them. That is more of her concern now.

Claudia felt disturbed, frustrated, and saddened by the prospect of such a scenario.

In reality, Claudia had enough money to spend, but she enjoyed saving her own money and attempting to borrow money from her kids to cover her costs. Only then did she feel at ease.

Claudia waited at the door for a long time, obviously thinking about something.

Meanwhile, Anastasia, Ethan, and Sophia enjoyed a delicious brunch at a café.

After breakfast, Ethan dropped Sophia off at kindergarten before delivering Anastasia to Spark Enterprises.

"I'll go handle some matters and pick you up in the evening after work," Ethan gently told Anastasia while driving.

"You don't need to send me to and from work daily. If you're busy, I can return by myself."

Anastasia felt embarrassed for bothering him. She didn't want Ethan to waste his time picking her up and dropping her off at work. She could manage by herself without bothering him.

She knew Ethan owned Orion Industries but kept his name hidden. So, she assumed he was always busy. Regardless of his hectic schedule, he had been transporting her to and from work on time every day, making her feel touched but also regretful for using so much of his time.

Ethan smiled. "It's okay. I'm not busy. I'm delighted I can send you to and from work every day. I always wanted to do this to you. "You should get going."

Only once Anastasia entered the company did Ethan drive away.

Even after entering her office, Anastasia felt a searing hot sensation on her face.

After doing several daily tasks, her new helper, whom she recommended, knocked on the door. "Miss Reed, there's someone downstairs looking for you. He claims he has an appointment with you today.

Anastasia was astonished. After some thought, she realized she didn't have an appointment with anyone today. She couldn't help but frown. "Did he tell you what company he works for? "What is his name?"

"No, he just claimed to be an old friend, and you'll know when you meet him," the assistant added hurriedly.

When the assistant saw people who refused to give their names, she frequently did not report it to Anastasia. However, the assistant was new to the position and unfamiliar with her fury. So he decided to report the incident to her because he was concerned that the man was an old friend of hers.

"Old friend?" Anastasia was puzzled.

She didn't have many close friends, especially since many abandoned her over the last seven years.

Thus, Anastasia couldn't identify the identity of this 'old buddy.'

Instead of speculating and making wild guesses, she decided to invite the man to her office so she could see who he was. Her curiosity also was picked.

"Forget it. "Bring him over," Anastasia urged.

Soon, the assistant led a young man dressed in an impeccable suit.

When Anastasia recognized the man's features, she grimaced and became gloomy.

The young man gave Anastasia a charming smile. "Miss Reed, nice to meet you again."

Anastasia lifted her brows and sneered. "When did I become your old friend? I don't even know your name. Trust that you were able to say that to me."

The smiling man was none other than Ferry Mason, whom Anastasia had seen twice and whom Luisa Thorn had purposefully tried to impress her with.

He appeared to be a polite and cultured, affluent man, but he smacked Luisa in front of them yesterday, pushing her to the ground. With this, she disgust this guy.

Anastasia despised men who hit their girlfriends, regardless of their social standing. For her, there is no excuse for treating your girlfriend well, especially in public.

Furthermore, despite the man in front of her appearing friendly and mild-mannered, the glare in his eyes was frequently disturbing. As if there is something he wanted to do to her but only holding back.

Anastasia's demeanor could be called antagonistic, but Ferry smiled as he remarked, "Miss Reed, you are being too distant. We have met a couple of times previously, after all. Allow me to introduce myself again. I am Ferry Mason from Los Angeles. I'm here today because I want to talk with you. Miss Reed, are you interested in working with the Masons?"

Based only on his actions now, Ferry may be deemed a gentleman. He was not arrogant but rather articulate, and he positively impacted people.

Unfortunately, Anastasia wasn't pleased with it. He already read Ferry's character long time ago.

Although Anastasia still had reservations about Ferry, she couldn't make a decision based on his personality when he discussed cooperating because she was the general manager of Spark Enterprises. She patiently inquired, "cooperation?" I would like to know more about it." She was curious about this kind of cooperation.

With a pleased expression, Ferry stated, "The Masons may not be from Emerald Coast County, but our family is one of the most powerful in Los Angeles, and we own numerous enterprises. For example, the Bright Corporation has done exceptionally well in recent years. We aim to expand our market and grow our operations in Emerald Coast County. We are looking to collaborate with a comparable company. Based on my observations over this time, I believe that, while your company is not currently considered a first-class corporation, it has significant potential for future growth. Miss Reed, as long as you are willing to work with us, I guarantee that with the assistance of Bright Corporation, Spark Enterprises will grow stronger. At the very least, it will be far superior to its current state."

Ferry smirked, appearing proud and smug. He seemed to be condescending. He's confident that he can bagged this cooperation with Spark Enterprises because of his skill and talent.

It was as if Spark Enterprises was gaining a significant advantage by collaborating with and even relying on Bright Corporation. In short, it will be Spark Enterprises gain to work with Bright Corporation.

Even a first-tier Emerald Coast County family would not be as pompous as Spark Enterprises!

Anastasia regarded Ferry with interest. "As expected of someone from another city, you seem not to know much about Spark Enterprises's current development situation."

Ferry was stunned.

He had assumed that after announcing his family's identity and proposing cooperation with Bright Corporation, Anastasia would be pleased to accept his offer. He underestimate this woman in front of her.

However, Anastasia did not appear pleased at all.

Furthermore, her statements gave Ferry a terrible hunch.

"Oh, is that true? Miss Reed, please enlighten me. The smile on Ferry's face was about to evaporate.
