Half Hour

Seth trembled uncontrollably at Dylan's words as if he had heard a call from hell. He thought Dylan would no longer continue to push him to choose options.

His phone had been knocked away when he was kicked, so even if he wanted to find someone to help him now, it was too late. He cannot call for backup.

Seth had just heard members of smaller families speak up for him, but he had not expected Dylan and Ethan to reject it outright! They dare to step up!

Seth suddenly found himself alone and powerless! He could not do anything, even though he was Clay's scion.

When Seth saw Dylan raise his foot again and prepared to stomp on his leg, he couldn't care less about his appearance and screamed. He then stood up and crawled towards Ethan.

Mr. Knight, I apologize for insulting you. Please let me leave because of the Clays! It's not my intention to insult you. I apologize."

Seth's heart was filled with anguish and humiliation. But he could not care anymore. Kneeling in front of Ethan and slapping himself in public was the most humiliating experience he had ever had in his life! But he feels powerless at this moment.

Seth's apology was fake, and he even mentioned Clay. Furthermore, he gave himself two gentle slaps and did not kowtow. He thought he could outmaneuver Dylan and Ethan and fake everything.

"You have half an hour to persuade your father to come before me. Otherwise, I'm not against tearing your family apart!" Then he turned his back to Seth after his instruction.

Ethan proceeded directly to the Carroll residence's gate, followed closely by Dylan. They both quickly faded into the light.

The folks outside gazed at each other, terrified of Ethan and Dylan, and remained silent. They are still processing what Ethan said about Seth's father coming in half an hour.

Meanwhile, Seth was propping himself up on the ground and shakily rising to his feet, his visage filled with hatred and malice. "Ethan Knight, I won't let you off! This is your biggest mistake in your life."

The Carroll family's villa cluster was brightly lit and elegantly adorned. Even though it was only a baby shower, the villa was opulent, displaying the wealth and magnificence of an elite family in Emerald Coast County.

The vast dining hall encompassed thousands of square feet and housed dozens of large, opulent round tables, enough to seat thousands of guests. Each magnificent round table featured a variety of appetizers and drinks. Everyone was waiting for the host to announce the beginning of the feast. This party was sought after because of its opulent and extravagant settings.

Ethan and Dylan sat at a less-packed table. Everyone at the table glanced at them with amazement, wondering who these two guys were.

They had yet to learn who the two were. But with so many guests attending the Carrolls' baby shower, it wasn't surprising that a tiny family like theirs didn't know everyone.

Someone near Ethan's table asked, "W-why is he here?"

The lady who spoke was a large woman whom Ethan knew. Nero Wilcon's wife, Patricia Fabian, once argued with Claudia about a bracelet. She was obviously surprised.

Patricia Fabian's jaw was wide open as she pointed her finger at Ethan in surprise.

People nearby couldn't help but gaze in the direction her finger was pointing.

"Shut up!" Nero smacked Patricia's pudgy arm and glared at her.

"Hubby, I am simply interested. This is the Carrolls' baby shower, and Ethan is just a useless live-in son-in-law who the Reed family kicked out. What right does he have to be here? Patricia exclaimed indignantly.

Nero glared at her sullenly and cautioned. "I warned you, Patricia Fabian, long ago to stop fooling with him! Are you dismissing my warning? If you keep babbling nonsense and causing trouble for me, get lost! You haven't learned your lesson?"

He seemed nasty, and he didn't give her any slack.

Patricia was embarrassed and outraged when her husband reprimanded her in front of many people, but she dared not respond. To her, there is nothing wrong on what she said.

Her family was relatively well-off when she was younger, so she could marry Nero. However, her family's enterprises had experienced significant losses and no longer performed as well as they once had. Furthermore, since giving birth to her child, her physical size has increased, and Nero no longer finds her attractive. Moreover, she had lost her family's backing and frequently behaved severely, so she could not hold her head high before Nero. She has always tamed her tongue when in front of Nero ever since.

Nero doesn't have time to worry about his dissatisfied wife, so he focuses on Ethan. He finally relaxes when he knows Ethan isn't looking at him. He is sure that Ethan coming in the baby shower doesn't have to do with him, which makes him feel at peace.

Nero and Ethan had multiple disagreements before. Still, he only realized it after Ethan and Dylan crippled more than ten of his subordinates following Claudia and Patricia's fight at the hotel. He is grateful he is still alive after that incident.

He immediately characterized Ethan as a dangerous person who should not be provoked. Being away from him is the best thing to do.

He would rather avoid Ethan than anger him. This is what Nero had learned!

Apart from Patricia and Nero, Thaddeus and Brendan. Reed also observed that Ethan had entered the dining hall.

The Reeds were a third-rate family in Emerald Coast County, especially following the upheaval and loss of the Spark Enterprises. However, they experienced financial problems and fell to the level of a fourth—or fifth-rate family.

They only received an invitation to the baby shower after racking their brains and making some connections. They aimed to use this chance to express their friendship to the Carrolls and create relationships with prominent families, which all lower-status families would strive for during similar celebrations.

However, he was immediately angry when Brendan noticed Ethan, the Reeds' former live-in son-in-law, strolling into the dinner hall.

"Grandpa, why is that garbage Ethan Knight allowed in here?" Brendan glanced at Ethan, his arm still throbbing from when Ethan had broken it. To him, Ethan is an eyesore, and he will do everything he can to get back to him.
