Meeting the people

Julius' parents kept walking, passing high gray marble columns twirling into the high ceiling above; every other column contained a Kingdom flag or the royal family's coat of arms. Julius ' mother started talking while the royal family was walking past this great room.

"You see that, Julius, that is our family coat of arms in the form of a scutum, a special shield that only our royal guardians use; we have split it into 4 sections. The shield also contains enchantments to protect the user and enhance the shield. The top right golden eagle represents the kingdom we rule, the top left grey sword represents your father, the bottom left blue water flame represents me, and the farming plow in the bottom right represents the people of our great kingdom." Explained Aurora to Julius.

"Enough of that, my queen. Julius is still a baby. He has plenty of time to learn all about us and our kingdom when he has grown. Now we need to show him to our people." Said Junius

While his father was talking to his mother, Julius was deep in thought: 'This is fascinating. From what I have gathered so far, my parents led a rebellion against a tyrant and became the new royal family. Wow, I can't wait to find out more about my new family's history and the kingdoms.'

As Julius was in a world of his own thoughts, his parents approached the grand wooden oak doors that led to the royal balcony. The two royal guardians opened the grand doors, allowing the royal family to walk onto the balcony and the citizens to see their newly crowned prince for the first time.

'What's with all that cheering? Are my parents really that popular?' Julius thought as his parents came to a stop at the edge of the balcony, waving towards their people. Smiling, his parents began waving towards their adoring people, whom they led towards victory.

Crowd POV

The crowd went crazy, cheering and chanting as the royal family of the kingdom walked into view. As this was going on, a young girl of one asked her mother about what was going on.

"Mommy, what's happening? Wh... why are so many people around?" Julia said to her mother.

"That's because, my pumpkin, we are about to greet the royal family's firstborn child and the heir to the royal throne," Julia, the young girl's mother, informed her.

Many conversations like this were going on around the crowd, but some were not so enthusiastic about the royal family's new rule around the kingdom. The new rulers had banned many old laws, such as allowing slavery and exploration of the common people, cutting back many noble privileges. This caused the dissatisfaction of many old-fashioned nobles who had only fought for the revolting side because they believed it was the winning side, not because they believed in the ideals.

"I can't believe that these common people prance around as rulers when they are nothing but pathetic little losers pretending to be royal." Whispered one conspirator against the crown.

"It's disgraceful what they did against our old king and what they have done against the interests of the kingdom and the nobles since then. Slavery made this kingdom tick with cheap labor. We could build or grow whatever we wanted cheaply, working commoners to the bone." Replied another conspirator.

"That doesn't matter. For now, we can let these new pretenders find out about our ideals, my friends. Smile and wave, boys. Let's pretend to be happy; don't give any sign that we are against them!" stated the leader of the conspiracy.

Julius POV

As the crowd were cheering and celebrating i felt getting passed into my father's muscular arms and lifted up above the king's head. Taking in the scenery of the royal square for the first time, Julius was awed. In front of him, there were people cheering for as far as the eye could see. The left of the square housed the nobles and dignitaries in the kingdom, all standing up from their chairs, clapping and smiling, welcoming this new heir.

Royal Square was surrounded by royal guardians adorned in their ceremonial uniforms for this special occasion. Royal guardians were each holding a flag of either the royal crest or the kingdom's crest, showing off the might of their kingdom to the guests and citizens of this special event.

"Quiet, my people." Boomed out my father's voice. As soon as this was said, the crowd instantly went quiet, and the nobles and dignitaries sat down.

"I would like to introduce you to my firstborn child, the crown prince, and heir to my throne, Julius Kraser." Junius Kraser shouted at the top of his lungs. As soon as the crowd heard the name of their new crown prince, they went wild in celebration, chanting Julius's name.

'I could get used to this adoration; maybe it's because I'm so handsome,' Julius narcissistically thought, even though he was just a baby. As Julius was being a narcissist, the royal guardians who weren't holding flags, including the ones standing behind the royal family, all hit their chests in unison, saluting the birth and shouting, "Long live, His Highness."

Junius POV

I put my young son back into his mother's arms and started the speech I had prepared for this special ceremony.

" My people, we have come a long way since we ended the reign of that tyrant; together, we have ended slavery and brought freedom to many. Together, we have stopped and imprisoned nobles and previously untouchables who were abusing the citizens of this great country.

Together, in the last two years that I have ruled, we have made the land a safer and fairer place where law and order are held above all. Together, we have rid the land of the many bandits and criminal organizations plaguing us, many of which were controlled by that tyrant.

My family and I will always be grateful that you followed us into battle to save this great land. Together, we have accomplished so much, but there is more work to do. To the north, the barbarian kingdom of Galacia hates our new way of life and wishes to enslave us. To the west lay our only friends, the ancient kingdom of Hesper. To the south, our six port cities bring in much commerce and trade from around the continent, helping our economy recover from our revolution.

The East poses our greatest challenge. The empire of Siracatan is expansion, built on conquest and submission, and slaves of the conquered nations are commonplace. They currently have around one-fourth of the continent under them, and they are presently in a brutal war against the Brisania empire. From what news reaches us here in Romanium, the two empires are evenly matched, and the people are suffering. Starvation and slaughter are commonplace.

Within the next two years, I announce that the kingdom will be recruiting another 50,000 troops into our royal army to bolster us to 200,000 troops. All classes will be welcome, with 1,000 mages and 39,000 knights being recruited. The other 10,000 slots will be for miscellaneous classes such as engineers. This will immensely help our internal and external security, uplifting the safety of all within our borders.

Accompanying the army recruitment, we will also announce a border security act. We will build stone forts all along our borders and send additional troops to the border. This will stop people from sneaking into our lands and harming our citizens, and it will also prevent our enemies from imposing on our borders.

Finally, to celebrate the birth of my first son and heir to the throne, I announce a week of birth festivals. Thank you, my people, for this warm reception. Together, we are stronger!"

As the King's speech finished, the crowd went crazy, celebrating the kingdom's strengthening and security. The King gave one more wave to the crowd before going inside to meet with his court.
