Within the city of Prola, in a dimly lit throne room, a silver chalice hit the ground as the messenger had just finished replaying the message from the King of Romanium to the High Chieftain.
"How dare that fake king threaten that our streets will run red with our blood!" Growled the High Chieftain Vercencalt, sitting on a wooden throne with a bear pelt as a cushion, in immense rage as he threw another chalice at a servant girl, laughing as it hit her in the face.
"High Chieftain, those strange visitors dressed in black cloaks were right. He will never accept our peace offer; he is using this war to gain prestige in the continent and make a name for his no-name family. After all, what Romanium king truly cares about their people? He wants to elongate this war to his own ends, not rescue his people," said Chieftain Yeom, who had lost his family and his city. He was serving his own agenda of elongating the war in an attempt to get his city back.
"Call those shadowy figures named Viper and Killer. Let's see what their plan is to get rid of him," the High Chieftain said after he calmed down.
Immediately, 2 Chieftain bodyguards left for the tavern within the city to ask them for a meeting.
30 minutes later, two powerful figures walked in covered in black cloaks from head to toe, concealing their identities. They walked straight toward the High Chieftain on his wooden throne, getting over their disgust and giving him a slight bow.
"You were correct. The fake king has decided to reject our offer and even threatened us saying our streets will run red with our blood after he slaughters us." The High Chieftain said in great anger.
After a moment of contemplation of the High Chieftain's words, Killer replied in a high-pitched female voice, " Powerful High Chieftain of Galicia, we warned you this would happen. King Junius Kraser is a powerful, angry man who tricked his own citizens and wants everybody under his boot. But don't worry; there is still time for our plan to be carried out tonight."
"What do you want in return?" Asked the High Chieftain.
"There's no hurry, High Chieftain. You will find out in the future what it is that we desire." Answered Viper with a non-negotiable tone.
"I don't like it, but I have no choice. It looks like I can only trust in your plan, shadowy visitors. I hope for both our sakes you can succeed." growled the High Chieftain, angry at being backed into a corner.
The visitors immediately bowed and left the throne room, saying snidely, "It's a pleasure doing business, oh powerful High Chieftain."
As soon as they walked out of the dimly lit throne room, they felt as if they could breathe away from the smelly barbarians again.
"Damn, they smell. Would it kill them to bathe for once?" Viper said as she waved her hand in front of her hood-covered face.
"Ignore them, Viper. Let's finish this mission and leave this primitive land as quickly as possible," Killer replied, also repulsed by the barbarians.

King Junius Kraser was sitting in his command tent surrounded by his loyal Legates and Marshal-General Helvius, discussing kingdom affairs and the war progress while waiting for the scouts to return. As they were moving from topic to topic, Legate Rascius walked in with an urgent look on his face.
"Your Majesty, Marshal-General and Legates, the scouts have returned carrying worrying news. There seems to be movement in the trees, with many unnatural noises making their way to our scouts. Unfortunately, our scouts could not discern what these noises were in the darkness." Stated Legate Rascius, his worry evident on his face.
"This is worrying indeed. At dawn, send out the scouts again and try to discern what is making those noises. Marshal-General Helvius raise the troops' alert level and make sure they were ready to face whatever threat may emerge.
At dawn, we will show the city of Prola what it means to be an enemy of the Kingdom of Romanium. ROMA INVICTA!" The king replied to his trusted subordinates.
"ROMA INVICTA!" They all shouted as one in response to the King.
After this was said, the men left one by one to carry out their duties and get some rest for the upcoming battle. Another five minutes passed as King Junius yawned while shifting through documents and preparing strategies for tomorrow's battle in his head, wanting it to go smoothly. Realizing he should get some rest before tomorrow's battle to best lead his legionaries, he stood up, his armor clinking as he walked out of the tent, immediately getting surrounded by four Royal Guardians.
As the King was walking the short journey back to his tent, he looked around him to see a camp full of life with legionaries mounting all the walls and running around on high alert. This brought a proud smile to Junius' face, thinking, 'Together we have accomplished so much, from a small commoner family to being King of this Kingdom and leading it in war.'
Suddenly, as Junius was walking between tents, he stumbled forward as a searing pain assaulted him in his abdomen. A moment later, the blade slid out of his abdomen to stab him again, but his Royal Guardians finally reacted, three immediately pouncing on the attacker and one staying by the now heavily injured King.
"Your Majesty, are you okay? let me carry you to the medical tent." A Royal Guardian said.
"No! This is only a scratch; I will fight these unhonorable foes, then go to the medical tent," the king said as he used his sword to help him stand up, trying not to scream in pain. Upon getting himself upright and feeling immense pain, he immediately prepared to charge at the assailant with the Royal Guardian by his side. When suddenly, the Royal Guardian's head flew off, being killed instantly by a surprise attack from behind.
"Hello, pretender. The Commander sends his regards." The assailant said as she charged at the King, not allowing him a chance to reply.
She went straight for the kill aiming for Junius' unprotected head, which Junius parried with his sword, immediately on the back foot, only being able to use one arm as his left arm was attempting to hold his open wound on the back left side of his abdomen.
'I just need to hold out until reinforcements arrive. I'm in the middle of my camp. No way they can't hear this,' Junius thought as he attempted to counterattack with his sword. Junius' sword moved at her legs, which was swiftly blocked by her shield, before she counterattacked and dragged her sword across Junius's left arm, drawing more blood and pain from an already struggling Junius.
Elsewhere the three Royal Guardians were struggling against the first assailant, with one of them already fallen with a slash through their torso. Currently, they are assaulting her from the left and right-hand side, attempting to overwhelm her with superior numbers.
As the sound of two swords and dual-wielded daggers clashing ran through the air, the assailant's worst nightmare happened, with the sound reaching the surrounding soldiers, who immediately jumped in to join the combat. This turned the tide of battle straight away, with the first assailant swiftly getting cut down before the Royal Guardians swiftly moved to help the struggling King.
As the reinforcements arrived, Junius shouted above the sound of battle, "I want her alive. We must figure out who the Commander is." The Royal Guardians heard this and went for non-lethal blows, cutting off both her arms within two minutes from sheer overwhelming numbers, finishing both assailants within one minute.
The second assailant immediately fell onto her arse, being brutally beaten. The Royal Guardians surrounded King Junius again to protect him against any more threats.
"Who are you, assailant?" asked the king, leaning on his gladius sword while breathing heavily covered in blood.
Before being able to answer, the second assailant screamed out in immense pain while wiggling around on the floor before suddenly detonating, causing an explosion that could be seen from the city of Prola.
