Chapter 13

My body shivered a bit, and u bet cayo felt it, but I just didn't want to leave this peaceful memory, fret it turns out as a dream.

" Hey, let's get you inside now shall we," cayo said removing a damp hair from my face. " We don't want you catching cold, worse, pneumonia".

" Hmmm" I replied, a bit disappointed. He walked me to the hut and stood out. I understand what he was meaning, he was giving me privacy to change my clothes, and I very much appreciated that gesture.

I walked in and closed the haystack door. Good thing we bought extra clothes. I changed into the dry clothes, and used the other dress I removed to dry my hair a little bit even thou it's wet.

But the clothes did little good in making me feel warm, because they are so thin, God!.

I quickly step out to give cayo his privacy as well. 5 mins later he peeked out to call me back in the hut.

" Come in now, it's way warmer in here" he said and I nodded at him and followed him in.

" Your clothes look a whole tad of warmness" I commented on his jeans, t-shirt and coat.

" It sure is, but I bet yours aren't doing a good job at keeping you warm now are they?" He asked.

He then removed his coat and placed it on me. " You need it more than I do".

" No, we both need it, I can't be selfish enough to let you shiver all night long, because I know we won't be able to leave this place till morning" I said removing the coat.

" Neither can I let you" he said and gently rubbed my cheek with his thumb.

" I think I have an idea" I said.

" That is?" He asked. " My body heat is not enough to keep me warm, neither are my clothes, but I can't take your coat, and you don't want to take it back, what if we just cuddled and talk all night" I proposed.

"Okay, that would be a middle ground for us both" cayo replied.

We went and sat on the bed and used his coat to cover us both.

We started discussing our lives, he had alot to talk about, his childhood, his sister luiza, his parents, his grandparents and alot more.

When it was my turn, I realized how empty and lonely my life had been so far, I don't have all those loving memories to look out to. He realized how sensitive the topic is for me, and changed topics.

We changed topics to talk about our future ambitions, our future plans and more.

As we talked more, my eyes started feeling heavy, I tried to keep them open, and talk to cayo all night, but I couldn't, sleep over powered me.

When I opened my eyes, it was already morning. I didn't want to move at all, afraid u would wake cayo up. We were sleeping in a hugging position, and his hands were protectively around my shoulders.

I looked up a little to admire his features, sharp and calm. I had the urge to run my fingers on his face, but I held myself back.

" Have you seen your full" a deep voice said which caught me off guard, ofcourse it was cayo.

" What, so you aren't asleep?" I asked dumbfounded. " I was, untill a minute ago when I felt a pair of curious eyes studying my face" he answered and I felt my face heat up a bit.

" No, no, I wasn't staring, I was just uhmm, I was just blowing away a hair from your face" I said the only thing coming to my mind.

" Uhmmm, good morning" he changed the conversation. " Morning" I replied and my stomach grumbled along with me. ' oh my god this is so embarrassing'

Cayo let go of me and picked up the bag, he rumbled in for a while before he handed me a bag of chips. " You should eat something" he said.

" What of you" I asked. " Don't mind me, I can handle myself, moreover I am not that hungry, I ate some snacks last night after you slept off" he replied.

"Okay," I nodded and tore the pack open. " Everything feels strange to me now" I said honestly.

" It sure does, but it shouldn't feel strange. We were comfortable with eachother before, and we should be now, I haven't changed, and neither have you, only that we are more clear with our feelings now" he replied.

" Yes, you are right, but does the label change now, since we have confessed to having feelings for one another, are we now lovers?" I asked.

" No," he replied and stared at me right in the eyes with his sharp green ones. " We might have confessed but I haven't asked you to be my girlfriend, I would do that properly once we are back, okay" he said.

I felt a mix of emotions: relief, excitement, and a hint of disappointment. I wasn't sure what I wanted, but Cayo's clarity helped me understand that we were still in the same place, just with more honesty.

"Okay," I nodded, trying to sound casual despite my racing heart.

Cayo smiled and handed me a bottle of water. "Let's get moving. We have a long journey ahead."

As we packed up and left the hut, I couldn't help but wonder what the future held for us. Were we just friends with feelings, or was something more brewing?

The hike back was less grueling, maybe because we had each other's company or maybe because we had finally acknowledged our feelings. We chatted and laughed, our connection growing stronger with each step.

We were very tired when we reached the bottom, and we just burst out laughing, it sure is an adventure.

We found our bicycle hidden behind the trees and cayo drove us to Nona Rosas cafe for some breakfast. Once again, I ate like a glutton, I don't care what anyone in the world says, my tummy is my first priority.

We rested and headed our way back to our temporary residence.

As soon as we walked in hand in hand, we were greeted by the worried faces of our friends.

" Where the hell have you two been all night" Nadia shouted as soon as she saw us. " We were stranded by the rain up in the mountains" cayo explained.

" Do you know how worried we all were, we kept calling you both but the network was a total crab, auntie called to ask about you, and I had to lie saying you were asleep, God gracious" Celestia said placing her hand on her head.

" Sorry guys" I said knowing that their anger was from a place of love. " Come with me to the room and take a hot bath, knowing you, you must have danced in the rain or something like that, we have a lot to talk about" Nadia said looking at our enterwined hands for a second before walking to the room.

Cayo gave me a nod, and I went inside the room. I straight up went to the bathroom and took a hot, long relaxing bath. When I came out Nadia and Celestia were seated in the room going through the bag I just came back with.

The blowing air remaineded me it's still cold and I need to get dressed before anything else. " So tell us all that happened, even thou we were worried, it's clear something positive happened last night" Celestia teased.

" Cel, look, it's a drawing of Luna dancing in the rain" Nadia called out, pointing to a page on cayos drawing book.

I rushed to take a look at the drawing, I didn't have a look at it last night. " Wow, it's so beautiful, it looks as thou it will walk out of the book" I said awestruck at the beauty of the drawing.

" Don't tell us you had no idea" Celestia asked. " I did, I mean, I knew he drew me, but I didn't see it" i answered.

" Tell us the full story" Nadia asked. A blush crept to my face as I recounted the whole incident to them. They were clearly happy for me, and kept awwning at everything.

The rest of the trip was amazing and my bon d with cayo became even more stronger. We were always together, and everyone could sense what was going on between us. And I couldn't be more happy having such an amazing man like cayo in my life, the heavens must be smiling upon me.
