YEAR-2024
DULL MORNING IN THE CITY OF VATTERVIC
LEFT DISTRICT [9:00 AM]
TIVANA - (stressed) We gotta investigate, Spectre. The officers said it was a ritual. I can't shake off the feeling that something's off.
SPECTRE - (annoyed) No way, Tivana. We're not getting involved in that. It's none of our business.
(Just then, there are a few knocks at the door. Spectre opens it, revealing Tivana's dad, a retired army officer, standing with a big smile.)
TIVANA'S DAD - (excitedly) Kiddos! Look what I got for you! I've been waiting for the perfect moment to give you these.
SPECTRE - (excited) Mr. Tanner, you didn't have to! Is that a limited edition recorder and camera? Oh, that sounds so cool, right, Tivana? Can I hold it?
TIVANA - (unenthused) Yeah...
TIVANA'S DAD—(proudly) it's the latest model. And I also got you state-of-the-art binoculars and a mini camera. You can use them for your... adventures. (winks)
SPECTRE - (impressed) Whoa, thanks, Mr. Tanner! This is amazing! Can I try the binoculars?
TIVANA - (bored) Yeah, thanks, Dad... Can I go now?
TIVANA'S DAD - (noticing Tivana's lack of enthusiasm) Ah, okay, kiddo. I'll let you boys play with your new toys. (pats Tivana's head and heads to his room.)
SPECTRE - (excitedly) Dude, just one more year and then college! Finally! We're going to have so much fun. Parties, girls, freedom...
TIVANA - (sighs) Yeah...
(They both head to school, with Spectre still excitedly talking about the new gadgets and Tivana lost in thought, still worried about the ritual and the symbol.)
SPECTRE - (noticing Tivana's distant expression) Dude, what's wrong? You're still thinking about that ritual thing, aren't you?
TIVANA - (hesitates) Yeah... I can't shake it off. Something feels off.
SPECTRE - (sceptical) Tivana, come on. It's probably just some crazy gang thing. Let's focus on our own lives.
TIVANA - (frustrated) You don't understand, Spectre. This feels different. And what about the symbol? What does it mean?
SPECTRE - (shrugs) I don't know, man. Maybe it's just some random graffiti.
TIVANA - (determined) I will find out what it means. And I'm going to investigate that ritual.
SPECTRE - (alarmed) Tivana, no! Don't do it!
TIVANA - (firmly) I have to, Spectre. I have to know the truth.
(The scene ends with Tivana and Spectre parting ways; Tivana is determined to uncover the truth, and Spectre is worried about his friend's safety.)
